It is funny you say this because I was going to post that one way GMTM could derail the sudden improvement is to trade Myers. If he is truly locked in on McEichle then I think it is possible it happens sooner rather than later. If a team is willing to overpay then do it. With our plethora of picks and prospects it will not be hard for GMTM to replace him. If that player isn't already in the organization then he has more than enough resources to get one. Let's keep this thing on track. Make sure we get McEichle, get some potential top 6 forwards, and if it turns out we have to many - wonderful. We can always trade for D. Myers is Myers. Other than his size what is so hard to replace?
-
Yeah really! I don't care how many points he scores the rest of the year in juniors. It is irrelevant. He is playing at a speed that allows him to dominate. The NHL made him look like he was in slow motion. After seeing how completely out of his league he was I want guys with size and speed. Grigs has size but no speed. Reinhart has neither at this point. Hate to be Debbie Downer but it is what it is.
-
Definitely a problem with the system when he is completely overpowering in one league and completely overwhelmed in another. Makes you a little skeptical about junior numbers.
-
Assuming we have McEichle locked up do you do Reinhart/Myers/2nd for. Mantha/Larkin/1st? Bored tonight so throwing crap out there.
-
????

Then please explain to me where you see him of we draft McEichle. If you say 2C then we need to trade Grigs. Please don't say wing. Ok after doing that now project the same lineup with Mantha instead of Reinhart. I am pretty confident that if you take away the draft position it is pretty easy to see Mantha is a better fit. So YES, I trade them straight up with McEichle on my team.
-
Lol. Big picture here. If all this tanking comes to fruition and we get McEichle who would you rather have? Mantha as his winger for the next 10 years or Reinhart as a 3C? We all think Grigs should be 2C right? So our #2 overall pick is a 3C. Yeah those require tanking!!!!
-
Yes it was a weak draft. Considering most on here would trade Reinhart straight up for the 20th pick of the previous draft. Hell, some of the people in here would probably do Reinhart + for Mantha.
-
Exactly. Can't believe it didn't get more negative publicity.

Average in I believe he will be an average 1st round pick. Solid player but hardly anything worth purposely trying to get a top 2 pick over. As for the rest I honestly am ok with whatever way it goes. My problem is stuff like having McDavid play a game at FNC. Some of this crap is bush league. That is not on GMTM, the coaches, or the players. That is on TP and the clowns that he lets make those kinds of decisions. That McDavid game was kind of the final straw for me in terms of thinking these guys have a clue.
-
This will be comical if we purposely tank for two years and come away with Reinhart (who i believe will be an average player at best) and Barzal or whoever else is the 4th/5th rated player. This is why you don't tank. The players and coaches are trying to win. Personally i hope this tank blows up right in TP's face. I don't want the dipshit thinking this is the way you build teams. Otherwise, he may decide to let the Bills hit 20 years with no playoffs.
-
This isn't on Nolan. For GMTM or upper management to suggest otherwise is another fine example of the buffoons that run this team. I by no means am a big Nolan fan but you can't pin this on him.
-
Am I missing something? He exploded in the Q. Just like Samson will probably explode in the CHL. Does that mean Samson is ready? I think we saw the answer to that already.
-
Can you imagine what we would have done if DR traded Myers, Grigs, and a future 1st for the 20th pick in the draft? Too some of you a year and a half later we should make that deal. On top of that the guy still hasn't played a game in the NHL.
-
Where was Mantha picked? Good teams don't tank. They just draft well. Kind of why Detroit is Detroit and Buffalo is Buffalo.

The Sunday doubleheader was a regularity in the 80's. My Dad and I used to go all the time. By the second period i was always afraid to ask for anything because it was always followed with "do you have any idea how much money i have spent today". Great memories. -

Don't care enough to look it up but I wonder if this happened before. Maybe back in the day when we were a primetime fixture but I don't recall it happening before. -
You could never do a deal like that without getting a player in return that has a cap hit. No team can take on that much money without unloading some.
-
We do not need to fear Colorado or Columbus. No chance in hell we get 5 more points than them the rest of the season. We may have this thing locked up by the New Year.

How can two teams continually drive me f'ing crazy and i keep coming back for more?
-
I think he wanted to keep at least Miller and Ott. Possibly trade some of our prospects/picks for proven players. Then make a run at a few higher profile FA's in the summer. Regardless his plan was to get better as quickly as possible. It was anti-tank and when he interviewed Murray i doubt the conversation consisted of your job is to put a last place team on the ice. When GMTM got here he was instructed to move in a certain direction. TP and the boys caught wind and said "hey what is going on here". PLF said f this and because we have a first time GM and desperate coach we now have the plan beautifully in place. Both organizations are a joke. Just si happened he hated Buffalo less. Like he said himself- his wife was expecting a baby and he felt he had to move on. Trust me probably shed A LOT of tears in the process.
-
I think he also realized that he isn't the only billionaire that owns a team. He was used to buying whatever he wanted. Thought he could buy championships. Not that easy Terry.
-
Is executing a plan to suck really that difficult. Give me a break.
-
These guys spend their entire life preparing them to be a professional athlete. The business they are in pays very well. What they make is irrelevant. They would make the same money playing for a different team that had a semblance of pride. So, yes I feel bad for players like Gorges. A professional career is only so long. The FA's that signed are a different story. They knew what they were in for
-
Yes we have. Bottom line is it is an absolute shame that this franchise has reached this level. No matter what the so-called plan is.
