I still keep coming back to Makers Mark. Regular is better than 46 IMO. If I'm in a scotch mood, Macallan 12 year old. I'm not into the overly peaty flavor of other single malts.

You were correct it was hip
I'm concerned about Demko's possible hip issues. I should have more info later today, but it seems it could scare some teams.
Yes. I am starting to see a trend where Goalies are more interchangeable then they once were. I think you can get good GT and win the cup but it doesn't guarantee anything.
Goalies/NHL = Running backs/NFL Interchangeable.

If I'm going to pay $200 for 60 minutes of sucking, 41 times a year.....it sure as hell ain't going to be at the arena......
Quotes like that are the reason why I joined this board. Oh yeah, and to talk about the Sabres.
-
Happy for Vanek, Briere and local boy Pacioretty, but mostly happy to watch the Bruins lose. ###### you, Brad Park!
Thanks for the laugh, KD. Brad Park can suck it.
-
Booooo. I'm pulling for Anaheim, Montreal and then I'm pretty indifferent about who wins the other two. Would like to see Selanne get one.
Anybody but the Bruins and I'm OK.

Gaborik, wow. O.T. here we come
Gaborik, wow. There we go!

Nice to see the Rangers eliminate Filthydelphia.
Yep. Besides Boston, I hate the Flyers the most.
-
Not getting this years first, at least we get their first next year. Maybe they'll tank and we'll get an extra lottery chance.

There are obviously going to be changes made to this roster before the start of next season. I have no idea what the free agency plan is or if they might make any draft day trades. I thought I'd try to guess the opening night roster for next season. I know I'm going to be way off, but here goes nothing:
Forwards
Hodgson- Girgensons- Stafford ( Really hope he gets traded and we sign Callahan or some other free agent)
Ennis- Reinhardt or Bennett- Stewart
Foligno- Flynn- Conacher
No clue on 4th line (hopefully doesn't include John Scott)
Defense:
Ehrhoff, Myers, Ristolainen, Pysyk, Weber, Zadorov
I realize the line combinations will be much different, but I tried to predict which forwards might be on the team.
Not sure this lineup gets us to the cap floor.

This jump has been made in a lot of people's minds and it's wrong. Reinhart is not passive. Not even in the slightest.
PIM last year. Reinhart 11, Bennett 118. Not saying that's everything, but Bennett will talk it and walk it.
-
The one positive aspect about Leino - his embarrassing, laughing-stock, epic failure in Buffalo probably helped get Darcy Regier out of here. For that I guess we should be grateful
Amen to that!
-
I'll take Bennett. We need players with and edge and from what I've seen, his edge is much greater than Reinhart's. No more passive players.

I thought this thread had to do with Elmira.
I have never understood the hate directed at any of the Buffalo sports media. If you can't listen to the radio or read an article without taking it as a personal attack on your soul, you need to realign your chakras.
I agree even though I'm not sure what a chakras is. Sullivan is a columnist and therefore in the entertainment business. I think he does a good job of being objective and provocative. What he says sometimes hurts but doesn't mean it's not reality. I like reading what he has to say.

I shouldn't be so negative, but being from Buffalo, I have developed a terrible of case of self-schadenfreude.

So when do the ping pong balls get chosen?
Tuesday. Does anybody really think we're gonna win??
-
Deslauriers really made a name for himself today. If this is what TM is all about, I'm in.
-
All things considered, I really enjoyed watching this game.
-
Atta boy, Nick.
-
BTW - some of the Isles are just going through the motions.
Maybe tanking for a better draft choice isn't exclusively a Sabres mantra.
-
Quite a line Teddy put out there... Stafford, Ennis, and Scott. :P
I think Scott has looked pretty good out there this afternoon.
-
Well I am now a very firm believer the Sabres need to get meaner. As such Lemiuex and Kempe better be on the Sabres radar for the late 1st early 2nd round. I am tempted to say we should also take Bennett over Reinhart but I still feel Reinhart is the best player.
This concerns me too. Looking at the Sens team which TM had a hand in, they don't seem to be that mean or tough to play against.
-
Although a relative newbie to the boards, I would also like to pass along appreciation and regards to 26. I have watched every game this year and started every game day with his game day thread. Thank you.

You know, there's something about Rip that bugs me. And it's this: The assignment of "NASCAR numbers" to rookies is stupid and demeaning. If they made the cut, or even if they get called up, let them pick the number that they wear. If some kid wants 9, let him have 9. There's no reason to arbitrarily give him 67 instead. That kid fought his whole life to get a shot. You do laundry.
I've met Rip a few times, and I like him and I like his stories, but allowing him to control who wears what number is as stupid as his assignment "system" is.
Didn't know that was a Rip function. I agree with you wholeheartedly.
-
Only thing I can think of for this is that TM wants to win against the Isles. If the Isles beat us tomorrow, they could jump to 5th draft position (from 4th currently). Not sure one later pick means that much but maybe it does to TM.

Let's talk Knob Creek. As above, I'm a Maker's fan, but getting into Knob Creek. A bit stronger, but a really nice spicy finish.
