Why did Grigo only get 1.35mins? -
Doesn't referencing a film quote kinda miss the point if you don't quote it?
-
Yeah I agree. I watched their game this afternoon, they looked good. The only way it is coaching is if it is right coach for the team. Objectively most would think LR is the better coach. Our third line has had some chances and not buried them - Grigo will start to break out and bury them over the next 10-15 games I think. Hockey has a huge factor of confidence - maybe they are just playing well because they know they can? But yeah I agree, I thought this team would be a bottom 5 in the eastern conference based on the line-up and summer
-
True, but their third line has out performed ours. A couple more goals from that line and we could have a couple more wins (considering a large number of our loses have been by one goal)
-
A part of me wonders. If we fired Ruff, and the Sabres didn't change. What would people blame? Would they be like lost lambs scared and confused, or would they just move straight on to Regier for not assembling the right team or something? I think their forwards line-up is similar to ours: Star winger - Two way player - Solid player (Young player with talent) Vanek - Pommers - Coho Young talented centre - Strong forward with size - Defensively solid winger who can put up numbers Ennis - Foligno - Stafford Skilled center - Checker - defensively solid, offensively limited winger who can play centre Grigo - Ott - Hecht 4th liners Their defense is not all that flashy but plays well. Not too sure why we are playing so poorly though.

I really disagree he has gotten worse. His point production is almost the same from the last two seasons, factor in the fact he was injured as well accounts for the drop. I think people are misremembering the last few seasons, i'm not too sure why. But he was very good the last two seasons - not as good as his first year mind, but still good. This season he has been bad - i think it would help having a vet who plays a similar game to look after him (in a mental case - tell him not to worry if he screws up etc.). We have one leader on D (Regehr) and he is both injured and plays a very different game. Erhorff is a vet, but i'm not sure he is a leader

I am glad no-one on her is a gm. Myers is both in a slump and a sabre - i'm surprised people haven't been suggesting we take salary back in a trade to convince a team to take him....oh wait yep they have. We would have to pay a team to take a calder winner.

We have 26 on our roster - we are allowed 23. Regehr and Leino are on LTIR, so that makes 24. I presume Pardy will be sent back today. As for what happens when Regehr (and eventually Leino) get back. A trade? -
I think they are benching Myers to trade him. Rumour has it Detroit have offered 3 pucks and a used condom; but other reports say it is unlikely a team would offer that much for him
-
Sorry I meant the two free buy-outs (which will give a zero cap hit) can be done this summer of the summer of 2014
-
The buy-outs can be used this summer or 2014 summer
-
No you're wrong. He is an AHL defenceman who had one good year. He is more of a con man than a hockey player

I bash Ennis because, whilst he has put up the points recently, he seems to waste a lot of opportunities - he doesn't ever really make plays happen for other players. He dangles into crazy situations and loses the puck (not necessarily via a giveaway). Coho seems more lethal when on the ice, not just because of Vanek, but also because he seems to get open/get others open. In other words, Coho seems to make plays happen when he is off the puck (dragging a defenceman out of position etc.). Ennis seems to float a little waiting for the puck. Once again, I like Ennis as a player, but he seems to have more potential than he is showing. Has Ennis really made Foligno or Stafford play any better? I agree Coho has a ways to go in his own zone. But he is getting there - this is his second year in the NHL and he is playing against the top lines in the best league in the world. He has looked good on the PK though. He just needs to get a little better at communicating with the D-men -
Yeah I have wondered why they have split up that line. Especially as the PP is 1/17 since it happened. Over the last 5 games these are FO stats: Ott - 86, 20, 43, 33, 25 Ennis - 56, 29, 27, 29, 75 Hodgson - 50, 44, 43, 62, 44 Getting that first faceoff win would really help us get set up. Lindy likes play Pommers at the point. Vanek - Coho - Ennis Pommers - Erhoff Foligno - Ott - Grigo Stafford - Myers I would like that - have the first line play 1;20 and the second .40 of the PP. Have the second unit be scrappy, get Ott in the goalie's face and Foligno on the wall and let Grigo be the 'talent' (plus it will help him boost his confidence). The first unit can be the normal one, but with coho's passing, Pommers and Erhoff's shots, Vanek's net presence and Ennis to get free and wait for a pass i think it could work. The puck moves faster than the man, so some nice clean crisp passes to the main in space - Foligno and Ennis often seem to try and carry it into traffic

What did Pommer say? -
It would explain why Adams is now the one who takes the timeouts

This could be the confidence boost we need. We are not a 3-6-1 team. Myers had an awful game though :( and our power play needs a lot of work I like the fact they thanked the fans
