  1. Vegas basically invested a first, two seconds, a third, Nick Suzuki (a mid-first) for Max Pacioretty, if I remember the details of the Tatar deal correctly.
  2. Pacioretty was just traded to Vegas for Tatar, Suzuki, and a 2nd.
  3. It would be so hard to come back from that. Great stuff.
  4. The team that improved from bottom 5 to top 6 in shot attempts against, and was above average (in the good sense) in scoring chances and high danger chances allowed? ? (This is an attempt to poke fun and not praise Phil)
  5. The jury on Allen is still years away, and Mahomes as well (And Watson etc. but Mahomes and Allen to me are inexorably linked) but I will be having nightmares about the process that moved us out of the pick Pat was taken at to give huge amounts to move up a year later to take Josh Just because of how bad we looked today and the potential for how colossal of a mistake that could have been
  6. I'm glad we didn't splurge on mack with the amount of holes we have already TBH But damn we shoulda had him in 14 That bears D looks scary on paper. It seems that being bad for a while might not always make you a great team, but it will get you a great defense, looking at them and Jacksonville and probably Cleveland Are defensive talents just easier to judge in college?
  7. I thought the D laid an egg on the first drive, but looked pretty much like last year's D (slightly worse in pass pro because of the wrong Gaines, slightly better in run defense) when accounting for the fact that they were perpetually on the field, and often starting at the wrong 30 yard line, and ignoring garbage time. With league average offense it would be average and would lead the team to 7-10 wins. With our offense, it just won't matter, the only question will be which drive they fold. D4rk was right about trading away AJ - I'd like to see a non-Peterman warm body start next week. He and Josie picked a great time to do something fun. I forgot how low Buffalo sports can make me feel.
  8. Jimmy G did not look very good today
  9. So if it's us and Bosa on top, do you want to grab him, or would you move back? I think, especially by next year, DE is going to be an unnoticed-but-critical need. Of course, if they do go DE, I'd like every other pick and addition to go towards offense.
  10. It's hard to imagine being able to justify bringing Peterman back into the locker room for another week of practice to be honest Taking bets on Paxton Lynch starting next week!
  11. Draft talk: I posit two scenarios. Say we finish in last place, and a QB rockets up the board. Other teams want the QB and are willing to give a typical haul. Do you a.) Make the trade and load up b.) stay but take Bosa/stud DE c.) stay but take the QB, even if we feel reasonable about Allen at the end of the year Second scenario: No QB emerges as a true stud, and it's likely that one of the DEs goes first. Do you a.) take the DE b.) try to trade down for volume, recognizing the demand for your pick won't be as high We have 10 picks in the draft already. I don't know enough about where you should take certain picks, but I want OL, I want defensive ends, and I want good WRs. I also don't know which you're more likely to get in FA. Next week talk: Opening in Baltimore, with Peterman, in that weather makes us look like an 0-16 team, where if we can sign a better QB/play Allen we might be a 3-4 win team. I'm curious if some of the guys with brutal penalties get cut/removed from their starting roles, and what we do at QB. I don't think we'll be as bad next week, though I think the Chargers are a strong team that will beat us. It sounds like Joey Bosa will be out. Because Cleveland has been orders of magnitude worse over that same stretch It's been over 630 days since they won a football game and they are 4-44-1 over their last 49 games We need our petty victories to stay sane
  12. You think that's symmetrical? Wait until week 5 of 2024, when he's lost 100 more consecutive games.
  13. That just wrote the entire "Why your team sucks: 2018 edition" for the Browns. They're spoon-feeding that writer a treasure trove of content.
  14. Hey, they've upgraded Tolbert to Murphy!! (Pretends Tolbert wasn't also their guy) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Separately, I spoke too soon about that game! This has been the most TT+Browns feeling game you could ever have
  15. And this is why moving Tyrod isn't the part that bothers me, like, at all - he couldn't beat a Steelers team that turned the ball over forty times today - so many QBs exchanged hands this summer, at a wide range of ability, and we chose to do what we did after deciding to move on, which was a defensible move if they knew what to look for.
  16. And what you'd really find is that most people generally actually have a pretty good handle on what their teams are, save a few enthusiasts on either side. The good half of their line disappeared, and they used the starting QB that threw 5 picks in a half last season, and got a result you'd about expect - that doesn't change a single thing about what last year was and what it wasn't.
  17. I'm sad that Teddy Bridgewater is sitting on a bench while we try to figure out what to do next week. Even with Teddy's knee uncertainty. Has Ben hit the old man wall finally, or was this week a fluke?
  18. Yes. This mess from top to bottom is McBeane's baby. And Tyrod's 34% completion and 107 yards would not have translated to the rain throwing to Kerley against Eric Weddle in any meaningful way.
  19. Also, our offensive line was not good, but it was, as predicted, not the disaster we saw in the preseason. Too many sacks but enough time on the throws we did make that you can clearly see Peterman is way over his head.
  20. I don't want my TT argument to be extended into thinking NP is close to the player TT is, or that I'd rather have NP than TT for this season.
  21. Tyrod Taylor has completed less than 39% of his passes today and has thrown for fewer than 100 yards to this point, in the 4th quarter. This is why I can't picture being as mad as Eleven is.
  22. This year, Cleveland's skill group is objectively better than Buffalo's. Buffalo's only NFL receiver is lumbering, stone-hands KB. With Gordon back, it's likely that CLE has at least 2 WR better than our best. Buffalo probably has the worst WRs in the league and it's not the Browns that would threaten that status. It's not smart if Peterman is your ultimate plan, maybe, but he wasn't, and again, NFL teams are going to get rid of QBs that throw for under 100 yards in 4 quarters of football regularly, it just happens, and TT makes no functional difference in this game. He just doesn't, even if he might in future games. What are you talking about? Eleven, Watkins, Woods, and Goodwin aren't on this team, I don't know if you have noticed.
  23. That makes sense. I was going off of the games I saw, in which they got carved up. But I was shocked to see total yardage. I just remember them getting carved since their last SB win.
