Sam had a good first 5 games, was pretty snakebit. The last two and a period he's gotten frustrated and is trending in the wrong direction. Hope he can pot one and get himself going again.

I think @dudacek was onto something with Kyle. He's more useful down low using his shoulders for guys like Casey who have less strength right now than he is up above the net in a place you need playmaking and good/quick shooting to happen. That's why the 71-37-21 line has worked in their very brief time together.

Moving to Jets/Coyotes for the intermission, and I had no idea the Jets were wearing thirds this season - they have that powder blue that reminds me of the Chargers a while back when LT was around

I like that Skinner, Sheary, Pommers really want to get to the front of the net. All guys that came in from outside of the organization (with the obvious caveat for Pominville) There's evidence to suggest that he really wants this to be a staple of their game unfortunately

I think various "line" infractions should be treated uniformly, which is why I hate that you can challenge offsides but they're so lax on hitting the red line for icings. Teams deliberately ice the puck when under pressure, knowing what they're doing, and also do it when they miss a pass on accident, and the icings aren't treated differently. And that's more relevant/important to gameplay than a play that's already offsides.

It can be argued that Jack never fully got caught up when thrust immediately into top line center duties. His stats in this season wouldn't suggest so. I'm worried the same thing is happening to Mitts right before our very eyes. I have zero issue with sheltering Dahlin for a while as well.

Hoss, I'd really suggest some Panthers games. He's a no-BS shutdown center that can score just as much as Eichel has shown an ability to. Eichel paced for what, 3 more points in his games last year? And some analyses I've seen put Jack in the bottom 10% of all forwards on the defensive side of things.
