  1. It's not about that - you can blow a guy up legally. Do it that way, same effect, better result.
  2. How was that offsides? He dragged it in WITH HIS SKATE. That is physically impossible that he was offsides.
  3. Then I still disagree. Glad we're on the same page ?
  4. I like how this season our defensemen aren't just trying to get the pucks off their sticks into transition as fast as possible. They're comfortable holding and waiting and using their outlet to buy more time, determined to start the transition the right way. That's all I asked of these guys since the tank ended. It's finally happening
  5. I didn't see a replay. I got the impression you'd argue the same thing even if it was a charge, was that incorrect of me?
  6. There are literally clean ways to hit people hard, that don't put your team shorthanded in the third period of a one goal game.
  7. Nope, any charging penalty is stupid, especially if you're up a goal in the third period of a game you're getting way outplayed in
  8. Yep. Praying we stay alive just long enough for Hutton to get us the win. Not sure I'm feeling like it's going to happen though.
  9. Lol what are these guys doing That was amazing Which team played and traveled last night?
  10. This game is scary. I forgot how nervous I get when Sabres games are close and mean something
  11. Way too lazy for that, you'll have to link it Just kidding. Great minds think alike.
  12. And I swear this is not a pick-on-Kyle post, and I swear I've been nice to him all season because he's doing fine in his reduced role which is exactly where I wanted him. That GWG he scored on the PP was awesome and so fun, but that was the only time in 12 games his signature move worked, which is why he's on PP2 and not PP1, so I hope that remains a thing. My eyelid is still in full-on-seizure-mode after that first period delay-and-shoot that lasted about 8 seconds and hit the player 2 feet in front of him And to make it a not-pick-on-Kyle post, he's had a very strong game at ES, as has Casey. I didn't see Casey's improvement at first when others did, but it's become more noticeable lately. Also, those whistle-before-goal plays happen EVERY TIME we play Calgary. Like, every single freaking time. It's unreal.
  13. Dahlin is so pretty to watch
  14. I think McD convinced the Pegulas that this was going to be a rough year, and the Pegs were okay with this. Had it been a relatively normal ~5 win season with a bad offense and solid D, he'd have the coolest seat in the world, but I think it's getting real spicy real quick just because of how ridiculous things get and look week after week. There will be a quick trigger finger starting next season IMO
  15. What record is this? ------------------------------------------------------ Bills are pacing for 6 TD passes. Outrageous. I hope that's all they get, and that every press conference that we see over the next 10 months brings it up over and over again
  16. Thanks to Rayzor, the word "ludicrous" does not exist in my vocabulary anymore How do I read this thread every time I come to Sabrespace? "Luderous" How do I say and read that word in any other setting in my life, hockey related or not? "Luderous" What did you do to me Rob
  17. I don't think the calls have been unfair or anything, but I sure hope we get the makeup calls in the third.
  18. Dahlin's had a couple of bad moves, but that one shift that's probably in the video above me was outrageous. Lots of standing still and reaching with one weak hand on the stick leading to sticks flying all over the place. Move your feet boys! I can't wait til Casey gets the forearm/hand strength of other NHL players, he'd have about six more goals this year See, Berglund dumped that from about 3 feet short of center ice but it was fine that time. but not others. I hate that.
  19. I'd be down to go after him. I'd like a whole bunch of our picks to be OL and offensive skill players
  20. Rodrigues is the straw that stirs the drink on the lines he's been on, even if his production has been suppressed by a shutdown role and teensy amounts of ice time. (25-75 zone start split in favor of the defensive zone, ~10 minutes of ice time per game) So if he's not going, it's purely because of things related to the birth of his child IMO, not because Phil thinks Tage has been better (he had a rough game again, albeit with a nice assist). Mike Smith has been pretty bad. The Flames' forwards can sting, but I think our boys can do this. Hope McCabe can play, he's been our best defenseman in the last ~6 games.
  21. Where are you thinking he'll go?
  22. It's hard for me to square your hatred of being out-corsi'd as a team with your unwavering belief in the guy who's consistently been the reason that happens ?
  23. I completely agree with this. If we had a competent offensive mind and GM/coach building the roster there, McDermott would be successful, because the stuff that drives us nuts that have nothing to do with offense are mistakes/decisions that so many NFL coaches make, because even Bellichick does stupid stuff and can't coach an offense. But he knows who can and he hires those guys and he doesn't f*ck around with the roster-building in such a manner as to create the worst offensive roster the league has seen in decades during its most offensive-happy era ever by far, and so McDermott needs to face that he HAS played a major role doing exactly what I just described. The guy would be an amazing defensive coordinator. We could so, so easily have Sean McVay and Pat Mahomes right now.
  24. Props to dudacek for continuing to believe in Jake McCabe - the guy is playing like a legitimate second-pairing-defenseman-on-a-good-defensive-team right now. He and Risto could be a solid second pair behind Dahlin and someone (Pilut ? ) for a long time, if he keeps it up. I hope he does. Our D is certainly not our issue if we have any glaring issues right now, though it's still on the brain-fart side of the spectrum IMO. The farts aren't yet as bad as we've seen, though it was a little alarming against the big fast BJs, and I'm worried about how we'll handle the real Eastern teams when we start playing them. We need to take advantage of this upcoming stretch with lots of Ottawa, NYR, MTL etc. before we start seeing Tampa and Pittsburgh and Winnipeg every other game later this month Never break up the Bergy line until it starts getting scored on and shot against. dark is right about Casey - he's close enough that you keep him here and he'll play the last half of the season at a nice scoring clip I think. What was up with ERod? Hopefully positive news, are he and his wife having a kid? That line missed his play - Tage was hesitant and unsure on a couple of pucks that ERod would have pounced on, and as a result we got scored on. Tage can head to Rochester to get his confidence back any time now. And yes, that was a nice assist. Jeff Skinner is decent. Jack&Sam&Sheary are banged up and looked like it. Games 6-11 are why Sheary is a "middle six" forward and not a "top six" forward, and that's all we need him to be. I don't believe that Jack has been fully healthy yet this season. Can't wait til he is. And he always does his goal scoring like this - he spends a month or two looking like he'll only get 20, and then hell rip off 7 goals in 10 games, and settle in at a 32-35 goal pace. For now he's more than happy to defer to Skinner, the hot hand, but at some point like all goal scorers Skinner will go through a dry patch and Jack will start shooting on those maddening slot chances
