  1. There are enough tidbits and whispered rumors that I think Adams is gonna be pretty good. Of course I will base my firm predictions on the moves he makes in September or whatever
  2. I do think we should emphasize that Kevyn isn't talking about gutting the Amerks of vets, it just seemed that he wasn't impressed by the accomplishments of first round sweep losses when they basically had nothing to do with sabre prospects
  3. Yeah I mean, I dont care for all of that other stuff either. But I've heard two of my own talking points this morning when I've heard zero total in the last 5 years lol. So I'm net-happy. Many months before its time to make the moves that'll determine any of this anyway, so I'll get more prepared to wince as it approaches
  4. Right, having vets down there is important. Recognizing the folly of the argument that Jason and his supporters used r.e. rochester is also important
  5. Apparently he mentioned how the Amerks success was largely driven by guys who would never be sabres. He's hitting talking points that I would have never mustered hope for getting talked about by people who matter. Excitement level slowly creeping up
  6. No, that was their time without winning a series. We tie the drought record if we miss again.
  7. I get hopeless because they talk about everything under the sun that might be wrong and needs to get better, except this, and this is still the same problem we've had since 2012
  8. I honestly think that terry just falls back on the communication thing because he's not mentally agile enough to give serious thought and then a sober diagnosis on the spot like that. I would struggle to say anything meaningful in the same situation
  9. He mentioned valuing analytics as a source of information, and why would you turn down information, but also stressed that you need to be able to tie it to something you see on the ice (my words, I forgot how he said it), which is my biggest problem with anyone who talks about analytics, they rarely will pull out the tape and show how the numerical discrepancy they found manifests, or even offer an explanation as to possible reasons why
  10. I'm still desperate for someone somewhere to acknowledge that our underlying offensive creation ability is critically bad and we will not go anywhere until it's fundamentally fixed in a big way
  11. His hockey talk is far easier on the ears than Jason's. I cannot understate how depressing it was to listen to jason give interviews
  12. Not gonna lie. His analytics answer was pretty damn good, looking at it from all angles.
  13. Your fierce defense of known trash makes this crusade puzzling
  14. I remember when Dan and Phil and Ralph and Jason also all said they wanted to play fast with the puck There is no more useless question in hockey
  15. Respectfully, people who cover entire sports like this dont have a clue what they're talking about. Jason thought each of his three teams would be 15-20 points better than they were. He was going nowhere fast and this is a critical offseason. Whoever boomer Gordon is, he has about a tenth of the sabre knowledge that the least knowledgable sabrespace poster has
  16. Did this come from 31 thoughts, or you? If the latter, what else ya got?
  17. Don't blame the Pegulas for being disillusioned with the ***** sandwiches offered up the last two times they got help
  18. Wasn't there a leak that a high end member of the organization was telling Terry that Jason had no idea what he was doing?
  19. Jason did suck, though. Really badly. The pegulas didn't ask him to get only Frolik out of the defensive logjam last season, or to trade a sixth for a guaranteed worse sixth when Detroit does the same thing and get a fifth. Whatever problems the pegulas cause, and I dont know what they are if they're there, jason was never gonna work out here and given that he and Tim were both NHL recommendations I hate this internal hire far less than I would have 5 years ago
  20. It's a logical possibility but it is impossible to answer given how demonstrably horrifying everything around him is, save 3 or 4 decent hockey players and maybe a coach now. We haven't been given enough details that would suggest he's some sort of fundamental problem - aside from some early immaturity that any level of organizational competence would render harmless. And even that was hardly some massive storyline. Right now from all we know jack is a very good boy
  21. Lol they aren't even firing him for the things he's terrible at
  22. Historically they can put together really good teams, but can't keep them together once players reach UFA age. All on ice indicators show me that this is about to happen again. I wish I could say so much about buffalo And it can pick apart other teams, including good ones. Their roster was still bad and young so they haven't achieved consistency yet. It's coming
  23. Chabot has almost as high a ceiling as Dahlin and has demonstrated Karlsson-like impact on nhl ice already (of course, he's had 3 more years of development). Its entirely possible that he winds up a better player long term
  24. Chabot is gonna win Norrises. They dont have an Eichel level forward but they will very quickly have a deep forward pool with plenty of good players. They already play a speed game that picks us apart and have demonstrated an ability to frustrate eichel more than most teams I've seen. The 4 goal game notwithstanding
  25. Dang I liked Taylor
