  1. And he's going to a team where he can PLAY that role and not have to become this all-around, well-rounded, two-way, system guy with different linemates every ###### shift. Kassian's happy, believe me. And so will be the Canuck fans.

exactly what i have been saying. you could see zack out there thinking about playing the system right instead of just playing/reacting and of course he will look like what he looked like because he was still learning

i think he will be the total package in a couple of years and all those that are satisfied that he got traded today will be wishing he was never traded in a few years.

you watch, he will be instantly better for the canucks because he will be allowed to just go play.

  2. I am sorry but kassian did not bring that much toughness to this lineup. He protected the puck well but outside of that was less physical than Gerbe.

true, but everybody learns and develops at different rates. to judge zack as a failure at anything at this point is wrong imho. the kid was up and down learning systems, playing with god knows who because of injuries most nights, not to mention i think ruff doesn't know how the treat and handle rookies.

bottom line is he needs a lot more time to show. you can see he has the skill set and physical presence, he just needs to more time.

i don't mind the trade for hodgeson, i just wish kassian wasn't the one going the other way.

  3. no. Philly went to game 7 and the only reason we were in the playoffs against boston was ryan miller... toughness matters yes but its not the end all.

and who has been more productive in the playoffs, finesse style or rugged style? i say the latter. how has buffalos style done lately?

  4. This is an absolutely false statement. I team full of players with 80pt potential or a team full of players who may be physical... hmmm

IMHO Kassian will pan out to be a strong (not physical) 50pt a year rw similar to stafford and Hodgson will be a 70pt a year 2way player akin to Pommers... LOVE THIS TRADE STILL

nothing false about it, it's my opinion. after watching boston and philly the past couple of years, i believe it to be true.

  5. i hate to see kassian go as it seemed to me he was doing more thinking than reacting and playing. once he has more exposure and begins reacting instead of thinking i think he will be that power forward with immense skill and toughness. The sabres for sure need skilled centers but i think they need skilled big tough guys more. Not saying anything bad about hodgeson but if he was a 3rd line center playing against 3line talent and 5 and 6 defensemen how well is he going to do against 1st liners and the defense top pairing.

a team full of hodgesons will not beat the bruins but a team full of kassians might.
