You just get sized up for that jersey man, it's coming.
I'd much rather let the young players see how Staf is as a pro than Kaner every day of the week. Kaner could take some lessons from Staf in that regard.
Hahaha, no!
Stafford was a tad bit less lazy on ice than Vanek.
Say what you want about Kanes off ice choices, he is far from a lazy player on ice.

Kane and one or both 2nds?
Yeah or...
Fowler for Girgensons and a 2nd but GMTM says Kane needs to get taken also or no deal.
-
. @renlavoietva "I wonder if Cam Fowler will be a Buffalo Sabre today"
"They made the choice that Cam Fowler will not play for the Ducks next year"
Fowler for Kane and some draft picks?
-
No on Okposo. Versteeg for a year, and Vesey.
I'm not the biggest Okposo fan either, but he's ok.
Bring him in this year and when Kanes deal is up next year he slides into the power forward slot when Kane is not resigned.

Yes
Okposo signs
Vesey signs
McGinn signs

I'm not sure how many have lived with back pain here, but I can assure you that when you have it - it affects every move you make.
yes sir, i can attest to that.

Not sure why this management group never liked Pysyk.
Too soft.

So in the end if CM ends up averaging 90 points per year and JE "only" averages 75, what are we really talking about? Not much difference if you ask me.

Ah, this again  Miller doesn't have a Vezina, right?
Yep he does and so does Carey, Kolzig, Theodore, and older guys like Hextall, Vanbiesbrouck. I don't think any of those guys were considered elite either, yet they managed to win the Vezina also.

Lindy had Elite goaltending for almost all of his tenure.
( ;) )
The goaltending was only elite while Hasek was here. Nobody else, it's foolish to think otherwise.

Rhino (Risto) is our giant killer, that's for sure. And it looks like he really enjoys the role. Part of the problem with the recent past is that aside from Kaleta, no one on the team seemed to relish the rough stuff. Rhino (that's the nickname he's earning), embraces it as a natural part of the game, but not in an emotional "I hate you" sense, but more in a matter-of-fact "I will destroy you" sense. No emotion; ice in his veins; I will destroy you and that's the end of it.
Forgive me. I'm trying to answer an entire 10-page GDT in one sitting.
Yes, and with his blond hair he reminds me of Ivan Drago!

Similar despite playing hundreds of games more. Sure, Johnson has a better GAA than Miller right now, but he's played 81 career games to Miller's 632. Not to mention Miller played in an era where scoring wasn't off the charts, but much more prevalent. This argument is quite the stretch. Would you honestly say you wouldn't be content or even happy with Ullmark or Johnson or Lehner ending their career here with Miller-like numbers?
Nope if they ended their careers her with Miller like numbers, I would be disappointed because Millers career numbers are average. I and you being fans should want better than that.
-
Are we really going to debate that Miller is on the same level as a rookie goaltender and a career backup?
look at the numbers dude! they are similar regardless of being a rookie or veteran.
-
We were spoiled getting Miller so soon after Hasek. I like getting spoiled though, so let's make it 3 in a row
Contrary to what you may believe about Miller, based on numbers, Miller, Ullmark and Johnson are all pretty even.
The myth that Miller was some sort of great, we were spoiled to have him, goalie is apparently still alive and well.

I'd love to see Kane drop the gloves (and I feel like he's been looking for an opportunity to do so but hasn't found one yet) but it gives me a little pause because the man is made of glass and I have no doubt he'd hurt himself even if he battered the guy he was fighting.
I just wouldn't want Kane to injure his repaired shoulder. Lots of torquing and shoulder use during fights.

Thanks for confirming what I already knew. For years with Sabres rosters crammed with mostly mediocre and bad players you instead chose to pillory the guy who was the least of our problems. And the number of posts you've made in this thread doesn't support your waning interest.
And that is the rub. You think he wasn't a problem and were totally fine with average play, apparently, whereas me and some others didn't buy into the Ryan Miller is elite propaganda machine that many fans spewed and thought he was a big part of the problem and wanted a better goalie and better goalie play.
-
Let's wait to judge our goalie situation until we need our goalies in big game situations. Whoopteedo, our goalies have mediocre stats and the team is in the bottom 1/3. Let's see if we'll miss reliable goaltending when we are working our way through the top 8 teams in the conference in 7 game series.
Miller, in his day, showed up in the playoffs.
When and where? Name a huge spot where Miller showed up and stole the show!
-
Does Ryan still call out his teammates after games?
yep
-
It never is.
Yeah, right! I was going to say the same thing.
I remember when it was said to be careful what you wish for if Miller was traded. Well, I for one wished for Miller to be gone, as I couldn't stand him. Guys like Hackett, Lieuwen, Enroth, Neuvirth, and Lindback were nothing more than average, just like Miller was, and the sabres goaltending didn't miss a beat without him.
The biggest hockey myth ever was that Ryan Miller was an elite goalie.
The fact of it is that Ryan Miller was/is the most overrated goalie of all time.
And he chokes on the biggest stage, good riddance.

We need to help those 100's of thousands of men, women children trying to escape the violence. I'm sorry, your post is the exact type of reaction that terrorists are hoping for.
No we don't. There are over 200 other countries in the world, let them start helping for once. I'm ok if the USA stopped helping/paying to help other countries. Enough is enough! I can't afford it anymore.
-
Sure i'm disappointed in the first 2 games but I also think the turn around isn't going to happen overnight. I believe it will start coming together about 20-25 games into this year.
-
Maybe the Canucks are willing to give up Miller.
No thank you.

I think the dude is going to sign with Boston. He's from there, it's his favorite team. If he wasn't hell bent on being a Bruin, imo he would have already signed with either the Preds or the Sabres. It's not about $$$ or winning with him, it's about putting his favorite teams sweater on.
