Lance Lysowski did a mailbag for this AM Mentioned RFA Ethan Bear as a trade target for RHD He also mentioned this about Goalies in His Article There aren’t established goalies in their prime in free agency. There rarely are. Teams sign those guys because there aren’t many in the NHL. Ville Husso, Darcy Kuemper, Marc-Andre Fleury and Jack Campbell are among the top options available next month. The Sabres are going to pursue Husso and Campbell – they went after top goalies last summer – but both have their blemishes and it’s unlikely either will pick Buffalo. Campbell, according to Evolving-Hockey.com, is projected to receive a six-year contract with a $5.7 million annual cap hit. Husso isn’t much less at $4.96 million over four years. They'll have other suitors, including playoff contenders. And is Adams willing to give a long-term contract to a backup such as Husso after he wouldn’t give a similar deal to Linus Ullmark a year ago? Also, signing a starting goalie to a long-term contract could be enough to discourage Devon Levi and/or Erik Portillo from signing. In free agency, the Sabres are more likely to target bargain options such as Casey DeSmith, Mikko Koskinen, Eric Comrie and Kevin Lankinen. There are ample trade options. Will the Bruins make Ullmark available if they’re rebuilding? Jonathan Quick, John Gibson, Semyon Varlamov, James Reimer and Adin Hill are a few names to watch.

They did interview Him per a good source

Another aspect is acquisition cost. Subban costs nothing, someone like Radko Gudas might cost a late round pick (which would be worth it), someone such as Matt Dumba would be expensive.

His Metrics improved in all phases when He was given less minutes, namely dropped to 4/5 Defenseman Role. He would be an experienced D Man to pair with Power initially, that would have a very good understanding of the inner workings of the Sabres from Malcolm His Average Ice Time was 18:08, it would be probably be the same in Buffalo with a small special teams role. If there is any concern about Him in Locker Room, Jason Karmanos has a great relationship with NJD GM Tom Fitzgerald and will get an honest assessment of PK.

Chad DeDominicis was on WGR550 this AM, mentioned that there appears to be mutual interest between the Sabres and PK Subban.

His Metrics improved with decreased ice time, He would be a very good 4/5 Defenseman. Evolving Wild has Him at 3 years 4 Million AAV

Chad DeDominics reported on the most recent Expected Buffalo Podcast that the Sabres are reportedly interested in Jack Campbell and adding to what Tom Webster mentioned PK Subban as well

Good player with good analytics, makes some boneheaded plays every once in a while. The Good out weighs the bad though

They will finish 24th in the standings. Taylor Hall will continue His Lottery Luck. Welcome to Boston, Conor Bednard!

Ethan Bear would be a good RHD Target. Jesse Puljujarvi would be a diamond in the rough target. Add Klefbom as a cap dump to get trade cost down. Klefbom has one year left on His Deal at 4.17 Million

Evolving Wild has been pretty good with contract projections in past years, they have Mikeyev at 6 years with 5 Million AAV. He is a good player, but His been up and down in His Three Previous Years from an analytics standpoint, Year One-good, Year Two Bad, Year Three Very Good. I like the idea of adding Russians to the Organization especially with Kisakov being signed, I would be wary of Him. I do think the Sabres should add someone in a Middle Six Role, Copp would be My Top Target (projected at 4 years 5.67 Million) although the Sabres would probably need to increase term and/or AAV. Others include Burakovsky, Nichushkin, Trocheck, and Niederreiter, they have have longer projected term than I would like with the exception of Trocheck who is projected at 4 years. My No Way in Hell would this ever happen is Patrice Bergeron who is 3 years 7.3 Million AAV
