Sure am. I'm not pointing fingers or anything, just pointing out that Enroth had a shot to solidify himself as a bona fide NHL regular when Miller went down, and has regressed since his hot start. We can discuss why he seems to have regressed or hasn't won since November 2011, but the fact is that he hasn't won an NHL game in almost 15 months.
I don't hate, dislike or wish ill will on Enroth at all. I want him to succeed, because a capable backup means Miller only has to play 60ish games in a normal year and we don't have to worry about the backup on Ryan's nights off. This year I wouldn't mind Enroth getting a couple more starts, because we suck with or without Miller in the net. Might as well let Enroth play a couple and see if he can work through it. Or do what many were suggesting and send him down on a conditioning assignment and let him get some actual gametime in the AHL.
CoHo wasn't an innocent victim and he definitely has had his struggles in his own end. But to be fair - so has Pominville. And Vanek has made a few bonehead plays. And pretty much everyone on the blueline. I do see improvements here and there that show promise and that he is slowly "getting it" in terms of defenisve play and responsibility. And I agree with JJ on this - Cody is one of the few bright spots this year. His defensive zone play will improve. If Kovalchuk can turn into a responsible defender in New Jersey then Cody Hodgson can certainly do it here.
