  1. Yes and no. They seem to get the top recruits EVERY STINKIN' YEAR. I have all the respect in the world for Mike Krzyzewski, but it's ridiculous at how many of these players end up there. I know they have to be held to the academic standards to get in and stay in, but c'mon... Being a Tar Heel fan probably doesn't help my attitude.
  2. People are vary lazy with the fridge in my office...every time I go over there, one of the fridge doors or the freezer door is left slightly open. Also, if you're in a busy grocery store aisle, don't lollygag in the middle of the aisle and gawk at the shelves looking for your item. The entire aisle is not yours. You have plenty of room to look at the shelves if you're not in the middle.
  3. I have a window seat at work and I'm watching the gorgeous, sun-laden 60-degree day we've got going on...wondering why I'm still at work.
  4. One of my co-workers announced yesterday that he's leaving for a new job. He's not even giving two full weeks' notice because his new company insisted that he start on the 21st. I like the guy - good worker, intelligent, knows our stuff, and is fun to talk to - but this is irritating. The problem now is that he & I were the only two within our unit that knows what we're doing. The other three guys (while cool & fun to hang around with) aren't up to snuff. So this now leaves me doing ALL of the heavy work until a replacement comes.
  5. I usually like winter, but I'm also ready for it to be done. My two little dogs aren't thrilled with it, either, but they do like to walk on top of the 20 inches of frozen snow in the front yard (it's a good thing they're only 15 pounds each). My complaint: I'm in a people-hating mood again. However, that will be it for the day. I'm doing a stair climb tonight to raise money for cystic fibrosis and I'm not letting anything get me down about that.
  6. #1: I can't get rid of this damn cough no matter what I do. It just keeps lingering...and lingering... #2: I hate it when people print out a novel and don't pick it up off the printer. #3: People who don't read directions for a change that I took a week and a half to come up with, tested for two days, then finally put into a production environment. Almost a year later, my colleague decided to do it how he thought it should have been done, then admitted to me that he didn't read my directions.
  7. I hate it when you're in a stall in the public restroom and someone goes into the one next to you and slams their door shut so hard that it knocks yours loose.
  8. In my case, my manager was forced into it. Our previous manager retired and she was second in charge of our unit. Because of the economy, we never re-filled the old manager's position, so she's been in charge ever since. She admittedly never wanted it, but had no choice.
  9. Albany got all hyped up about it and we got a whopping 8 inches...tops. I was disappointed. Official complaint: I wish some people I work with would invest in breath mints. And Pegula's regime hasn't begun yet.
  10. CSI is a repeat. A good episode, but still a repeat. <_<
  11. And that's precisely what's happening with me. I can't have a phone conversation with my wife w/o the boss asking what it's about. Another complaint: the idiots sitting within 5 rows of the ice who decide to stand up and wave to get themselves on TV. I'm glad I don't get tickets that good or else...
  12. Man, that does suck. I had shingles a few years ago, but the symptoms were the blisters on my abdomen and what felt like back pain that wouldn't go away. I was lucky enough to get it caught early where some antibiotic was able to get rid of it. Good luck - I hope it doesn't affect your eyes at all.
  13. This. Even when the boss isn't in the office, she's nitpicking over email. :wallbash:
  14. Office politics are rearing their ugly head these days. Almost everyone I run into is having a bad day...every day. I should just call our division "Roadblock Redtape Central".
  15. I hate it when people play Devil's advocate all the time. It's one thing to disagree with someone's opinion or try to present a different point of view, but when you do it at every single flippin' conversation, you're just talking so that everyone knows you're speaking.
  16. I can understand the cold, but is the wind really necessary?
  17. Well, I'd make that comment to my direct boss (who gets it). It's the higher ups that are chomping at the bit.
  18. Damn PCs. I got the old BSOD on my home PC Monday night. Got it fixed, then rebooted once again last night only to get it again - the thing won't even boot up anymore. Hopefully, this looks more like a hardware problem than a hard drive problem so I won't lose any data. Hopefully....
  19. I might have to use that one when my boss gripes about them again.
  20. This. But (of course), it's not my only complaint...why is it that execs in my organization (or most orgs for that matter) don't understand that you can't just drop a piece of gear in a data center and expect it to work 10 minutes later?
  21. When I go to a web site (any site), I don't want some audio clip to start playing automatically. Usually, they're just commercials for something, but it's obnoxious...especially while at work and I'm viewing something legit.
  22. As flat as they looked in the first, they're looking that much better now. I like the sense of urgency they're playing with.
