What needs to happen for Skinner to come off PP1!!!???

Tage to be out a few weeks up to a little over a month. Not as bad as feared when he said "significant time" can they get through this period and remain "in the hunt"?

100% should have been his goal to get them to the playoffs. But I don't think it was - it was 1 more year of development. Otherwisec I can't explain the lack of trades / moves to improve the team

Please tell me how they are going to make the playoffs this season, now that Thompson is out. There is no way KA gets fired after this season. He will be allowed to hire a 2nd coach

I would think it's fair. DG goes after this season and KA would be next. I can't imagine they aren't a playoff team next year with the talent they have and a new coach

I was hoping he would trade the pick to be honest, but now with a bottom 8 pick likely, I doubt he does

I'm usually pretty optimistic but a team devoid of any forward depth just lost their best forward. I really don't see how it turns around from here may as well bring up Rosen and Kulich and give them a head start for next season

And there it is 2 choices for the Sabres make a trade for another top forward, using your 24 first and a prospect or two. and sign Kane OR bring in all the kids, let them play under DG for the remainder of the year Kulich and Rosen now. Benson and Savoie after the WJC. waive Comrie and play UPL and Levi the remainder of the year. Finish in the bottom 10 and get another high draft pick. OR actually use the pick to bring in a player that can help the team next year But here we are again "wait till next season"

I've been hoping that GMKA would make a trade that would help this years Sabres team. He has the cap space , the prospects and the draft capital to make a couple of big upgrades but hasn't. It's got me thinking, why hasn't he and then it came to me last summer Peca gets a job offer from the NYR to be an assistant under the defensive minded Laviolette. Adams tell Peca he'd love to keep him but there is no opening on the Sabres staff BUT considering how bad the Sabres were defensively and on the PK last year, there is no way he couldn't find room for Peca So he tells Peca to go coach under Laviolette for a year or two. Learn his system and when the time is right, the Sabres will bring him back as the head coach I'm sure Adams was thinking 2 years but how things are going so far in 2023-24. Now I think it will be moved up to next summer. Adams wants to see improvements but not to the point where he can fire Granato. Hence no trades unless the wheels completely go off the track , DG finishes the year but is let go after the season and Michael Peca becomes the new coach of the Buffalo Sabres brining in Laviolette defensive system

I know there is a lot of criticism of DG but I think firing him would be a little unfair in that Adams hasn't given him a chance to play with a full deck it was Adams, not Granato that didn't find a suitable replacement for Quinn. It's Adams not Granato that didn't bring in a bonafide starting goalie. Yes he brought in 2 vet dmen but neither really move the needle much , bottom pair guys at Before firing DG, get him a top 4 dman, bring in another top 9 forward in trade. Hell, go sign Kane on top of that. Go do something then if that doesn't work fire Granato
