  1. Simashev 📈
  2. I think both will beat the leafs. TB was probably the better team in 4 (maybe 5) of the games and TB would rank behind both Boston and Fla on my power rankings leafs won their cup last night.
  3. 2025 sounds about right
  4. I think I’m in love Came across this report while doing some digging into the Swedish prospects in the U18 finals 15. Dimitri Simashev In my opinion, Simashev is quite possibly the best defenceman in this draft, and by far the best defensive player. I pushed for him to be higher than this, but I’m accepting 15. He’s fluid on his skates, and very mobile, especially for a guy his size. He shuts down plays before they start; he reads and anticipates play very well, stepping up in the neutral zone with perfect timing to prevent entries without taking himself out of the play. He uses his size effectively and protects the puck really well, extending his long reach and using his free arm to shield off pressure. He’s not the most physical yet, but I think that’ll come when it’s necessary, he doesn’t really need to be right now, and he won’t take himself out of the play to throw a pointless hit. But don’t underestimate his offence either, there’s a lot more potential there than he gets credit for. If he has the puck, good luck getting it away from him; he controls the puck exceptionally well and adapts to pressure instantly, weaving through defences in transition and making it look easy. He’s a breakout wizard, great at escaping pressure with the puck, recovering it along the boards and combining his skating and puck protection to evade incoming pressure; he sniffs out contested pucks and turns them into offensive rushes in an instant. The stats still don’t suggest a very offensively skilled defenceman, but then you’ll watch him pull off like five insane plays in one shift that no other defenceman in this draft does, and you start to really see the potential that he has. To me, his upside is some of the highest in this draft, and I really believe that he can be a good #1 defenceman in the NHL some day. (Gray Matter)
  5. That’s the look of a Champion!
  6. CSKA holds on and wins Poltapov played a regular shift till about 5 mins to go in the game Nice to see a Sabre prospect be big part of a winner in one of the top leagues in the world
  7. 3-2 CSKA after 40 will be interesting to see how many minutes he gets with his team up by 1 with 20 mins to go in game 7 of the finals
  8. 1-0 Bars. End of 1. Poltapov had a coincidental minor in a battle with Alexander Radulov.
  9. Puck about to drop in game 7 of the KHL finals. Poltapov has worked himself up to the 2nd line
  10. He loved the city of Buffalo as per his spitting’ chiclets interview from about a year ago it’s unlikely to happen , so really no need to debate but when you play a violent brand of hockey, you are likely to get some penalties. that being said, go to any flames message board , listen to any flames podcast and he is a fan favourite for a reason. anyone who says he hasn’t been good on the flames (zamboni) hasn’t been paying attention
  11. 6’6 heavy player, who can skate Dman who’s has been very good for the Flames and matured both off and on the ice 1 year left on his deal and could be had for a 2nd round pick and 2nd tier prospect seems Iike a good idea for our bottom pair IMHO
  12. How about the athletic’s beat reporter? Does he watch more flames ? Nikita Zadorov The goals were there for Zadorov, as were some errors and bad defensive plays at times. He can still improve when it comes to being a more steady presence, but his offence was tantalizing. A three-goal output in his final game of the year was also a great way to end the season. Grade: B
  13. https://calgarysun.com/sports/hockey/nhl/calgary-flames/flames-coach-sutter-on-zadorov-hes-been-our-best-defenceman-clearly Again, I’m sure you might be in tune with the flames a little bit more than their coach
  14. https://flamesnation.ca/news/nikita-zadorov-took-a-big-step-forward-in-both-zones-in-2022-23 this is from 5 days ago. Or Do you watch more Zadorov?
  15. Lots. Kulich or Savoie situation again . Why would Calgary contemplate trading him? They have 3 guys in their final year of contracts, don’t think they will be looking to trade one of their better ones who still has term left Are you sure about that? Flames fans seem to love him
  16. Not until the Leafs are out then I can hope the Bruins lose
  17. My opening night lineup Skinner Thompson. Tuck JJP. Cozens. Quinn Savoie. mitts. Greeenway Bunting Krebs. KO extra - Jost , Rousak Samuelsson Dahlin Power Dumba Zadorov Jokiharju extra - Lyubushkin Levi Raanta
  18. I have a feeling Girgs will get a multi year deal elsewhere and is gone If Krebs is ready to move up the lineup , the top 9 are pretty well seT. Either way, I’ll assume KO is back, 10 of the 14 forwards they will open the season with are pretty well set. I think they bring back Jost as well final 3 roster spots will be a battle -Rousak and Kulich are possibilities. Thinks Savoie is most likely to start season with Sabres maybe a UFA is signed to play 4th line minutes. Someone who would be ok with a shorter term deal and hopefully can bring a bit more grit and offence than Girgs Olofsson and Vinny are also not here next season maybe there’s a team that needs a PP specialist that we can flip VO to. on D Bryson should not be on the 23 man roster. He belongs in the AHL. Hopefully there is a guy in UFA market who they think they can play in the top 4 Dumba seems to be a good fit to me I would then like to see them trade a draft pick (2nd round) and mid tier prospect to Calgary for one of their Dmen in the last year of their contracts It may not be a popular thought but I would love to see Zadorov back on the team. Though seems he loves Calgary and wants to spend rest of the career there BUT has also said a lot of good things about the city of Buffalo He would be a physical force on the bottom pair and his game has seemed to mature under Sutter.
  19. Think you are too early to judge Stillman in the Sabres system. He probably ends up as the 6th or 7th Dman when they start the season
  20. My boy is finding his groove in the playoffs. excited to see where his game goes next season Btw. CSKA lost 2-1. Now ahead in the finals 3 games to 2
  21. time out.....Crouse would be an excellent addition to the Sabres. Kassian had a lot of "issues" who knows how he could have turned out. and which Ritchie do you mean ? or both?
  22. you did read the next sentence when I wrote "him finding his game is definitely a possibility" I'm still liking the Sabres chances of overtaking both Leafs and Lightning next season...
  23. Im more even more confident that the Sabres will pass the lightning next season, unless Vasilevskiy finds his game. TB is finding out what we as Sabres fans have known for a long time...you can't win without a goaltender. I'm surprised to learn that he is only 28, figured he was much older. Him finding his game is definitely a possibility. Their core is getting older, though both Stamkos and Hedman still have lots to offer Not to sound too optimistic, I think they have a chance to pass the Leafs as well.
