RIP Chuck.
His jazz music stunningly hit the pop charts in 1977 and got a lot of air time. It was refreshing change for me personally and it opened new doors. There was a time when my music consumption was >90% rock/pop.
After hearing this record I started to listen to jazz and I used to regularly see Spyro Gyra perform live at the original Tralfamadore Cafe in Buffalo. My record collection took on a new and more diverse direction.
While Chuck's jazz music may never be called influential from a pure jazz perspective, it actually was for me. Chuck's hit record took me to artists like George Benson, Chick Corea, Weather Report and jazz/rock fusion. After awhile I explored all forms of jazz going back to Charlie Parker, Miles and Coltrane, Brubeck, etc.
I could have written this post. You forgot to mention Herbie Hancock and the Jazz Crusaders

Yeah it is July and things can get stagnate. As a Buffalo crowd, we have had amazing players from Gilbert to Dom, as much we are in the sucky era, Gilbert doing a 200 feet skate and scoring, we don't and probably will never sèe that again, by any hockey player, as I witnessed as a child
I'll always remember the Larry Carriere quote, along the lines of "playing defense with Bert on the ice was easy - gather the puck, take it behind the net, wait for Bert to circle around, pick it up, watch him skate through the opponent, score, and you're +1 as you get to the bench"

I still to this day, as a kid going to games with the family's Red Section owned in the Aud, seeing great games, seeing great heart Sabres. Beating the Soviets, allowed as a kid to get into the press box. Saying "Hey to the Mr. Sy and Mr. Norty. As I grew I saw passion even when the Sabres faltered a bit. But they were constant, a hope. Rigas was what was but hope was there. Golisano stepped in and hope was there. But this crowd, your losing a 55 year old fan that spans the Sabres time line and I am older than 55, not by much. Adams has to go. He has killed the hope of younger generations, just so he can maintain his lifestyle. Flim Flam man, a carnival barker, a siding salesman..
Well said, from a 63 yo that has been a fan since September 1970

Pre Sabres, my favorite hockey player as a kid was Bobby Orr. He was young looking, and fast, and no one played like him. He really had no peer back thenMy favorite Buffalo Bison, going back to 1967, was a guy named Dennis Hextall. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=2262
He could score and fight. Dennis would drop the gloves, win the fight, and then fix his hair while skating his way to the penalty box. Hilarious but cool.
When the Sabres were born Gil immediately became my new favorite and the Bruins became the enemy, although Toronto was an even bigger enemy.
I've always had my greatest disdain for the B's. Born of how good they were at the Sabres birth and attending the game Schoeny fought Orr, Vadnais, Cashman

It’s funny, first thing I thought of when reading the original post was Guy Trottier.
The first pro hockey game I attended was a Bisons game that final season. Guy had a hat trick and I was hooked!

I remember still savoring the Buffalo Bisons 1969-70 Calder Cup Championship that final AHL season. Then, raising the roof on the Aud, and adding the Oranges.
While I remember it, I was young enough that I couldn't understand why we'd lose stars like Guy Trottier for the next season.

Eff Arby’s.
The last time I went there, they refused to make my beef and cheddar on a seeded bun instead of an onion bun. Even after I told them that I’m allergic to onions, they stuck to their guns.
I haven't been to an Arby's in 35 years. Last time I pulled in to an Arby's the sign said was open 24/7 it was closed. Never again

I hate to admit it, but the Cozens trade told me the same thing that Hoppe wrote. I can't believe the Knox Brother's baby has sunk to these depths

It's funny too, now that you mention it.
I remember my Mom and Dad getting all dressed up to go to a Sabres (or Braves) game, which was usually preceded by dinner at the Aud Club.
And while my Dad's ties were always fat....they were never tacky! (other than the material)
Good times.
Like my Dad's ties - made from a fabric not occurring in nature!

That was quite an accomplishment.

Hear me out here. Maybe just getting Jeff off the roster was the benefit. Declining production, allergic to defense, not real good at anything other than finishing plays that someone else does all the work for.
Me thinks Lindy played a large role in the Skinner decision, for the reasons you outlined.

Franchise best right winger is a good debate, in my opinion.
Nobody can come close to Mogilny’s ridiculous 76 goal-season, but he’s actually just number 6 in all-time scoring, a few points back of Miro Satan (who was too 1-dimensional to deserve consideration.)
The other 4 are all within 50 Sabre points of each other. Robert edges Pominville for #4 in a tight race for that 100-point season in otherwise pick-em careers.
Mogilny is the most talented and dangerous RW ever to lace them up in Buffalo, but too many of his seasons were disrupted by injury or drama and his career was cut short. He’s #3 for me.
#2 is the best power forward in Sabres history. Punishing 40 goal scorers don’t happen very often, especially ones that can chuck the knuckles, backcheck and lead like Mike Foligno could.
And #1 is Danny Gare who not only leads the group in career goals, but also is it’s only 2-time 50-goal scorer, who has the # 2, 3, 9 and 11th best all-time single season points for RWs and 2, 3, 4, and 8 for goals. Like Foligno he was tough, diligent defensively and a captain. Like Mogilny, he was a Rocket Richard winner before the trophy existed. He was also clutch.
I'll opine on the RW debate - which is interesting. I think Gare is the clear #1. In my opinion, Robert is the clear #2. Here is likely his greatest moment as an NHL player
