Giving Erik Johnson another game after his ABYSMAL play against Montreal is why I am over this coaching staff. Veteran spouts off about playing responsible hockey and then proceeds to glide back and allow a goal and then gives a massive gap while screening his goalie to allow another goal and we just roll him back out. Ryan Johnson is better than Joker, Erik, Connor, and some nights Samuelsson but because of old man hockey instincts here we are. This team needs to get serious because time is fast running out. Henri Jokiharju, Connor Clifton, Erik Johnson, Jacob Bryson, sometimes Mattias Samuelsson Working his way back from his injury. Probably another 2-3 weeks away.

I wouldn't say always. I think they should try to work the puck low when they can, it should be a goal say 50% of the time. Fully agree though, they stand totally still and just dick around with the puck before passing to someone else totally still who does the same. It's awful and blatantly obvious.

I'm not being clear in what I saw that bothered me. You're right, they take shots from the slot. My issue is shot assists to someone in the slot. What I saw very clear and have been seeing is that a player on the wall will get the puck. The Sabres then have 1 forward low behind the goal and the other forward typically in close support up the wall. Both defenders man a point. The system wants them to feed pucks to the point not to the middle. There were numerous times last night where the forward on the wall gets the puck and his only option is rim behind the net or back to the point. No one and I mean NO one was going to the slot for passes or deflections. That shot chart makes sense because those were rushes and occasional passes within the zone but notice the center and most of the left side is empty.

The Sabres pp has been bad for years and no one has done anything about it. They have never changed tactics. Fire everyone. Cut the fat regardless of vibes. Add real nhl players.
