Nice truck.
Isn't McCown/Manuel essentially Orton/Manuel and Kolb/Manuel? - an OK veteran placeholder who can be serviceable if the kid can't get to done?
-
Is Zad suspended? I thought he was just benched.
Nolan has been pretty consistent: do things his way and you'll play, don't and you won't.
I've been listening to Vancouver sports radio this morning, and it's been pretty entertaining listening to them talk about our team.
I can tell you this: they have no doubt Buffalo is going to win the Shart.
-
OK, I was reading through some of the early posts in this thread.
I know people suspect Chz is a 300-pound trucker, but when did she become Drane?

I posted my opinion on Eichel months ago.
In light of this new information, I'll say it again: there's nothing I don't like about Jack Eichel.
-
So, I haven't seen tonight's line-up card yet, but apparently it's something like this:
5 underachieving veterans (Moulson, Gionta, Stewart, Hodgson, Foligno)
5 unproven youngsters (Ristolainen, Zadorov, Pysyk, Deslauriers, Larsson)
9 AHLers/fringe NHLers (Ellis, Strachan, Benoit, Meszaros, Flynn, MItchell, Dalpe, Varone, Lindback)
Plus Bogosian and Neuvirth
If there ever was a team built for the Shart...
Put Lindback in goal and :worthy:
-
We see it again and again: minute munching veteran defensemen are worth a helluva lot in this league.
It's supply and demand. There just ain't many of them.
Who would you rather have: McKeown and some guy like Travis Konecny, or JT. Compher and Jamie McBain?
-
This thread is going to be around longer than the Stafford thread.
-
So much for 1st rounders not being in play. That's a heavy haul, though I guess it could be next year's first.
-
I still don't get it...
You ever watch rugby? They carry the ball forward until stopped by contact, then try to flip it to a guy coming from behind.
That's what it used be like.
Then they put in the blue lines and said you can pass it forward now but not over the opposition blueline into the offensive zone.
-
The blueline was actually brought in to legitimize the forward pass. All of a sudden you could do it in inside the newly created zone.
-
Take whatever name Murray calls from the podium in June.
I figure that guy will be around for a while.
-
Rover was often the best skater and stick handler. When I hear it described, I always think about Phil Housley.
The defencemen we called point and cover point. Did that mean they had different roles and one guy hung back all the time?
-
I've always been curious to see what a game would be like with today's NHL players playing the rules from 100 years ago: a rover, goalies can't drop to their knees, no forward pass...
More stick handling, more hits, rugby on ice.

The tank getting attention on Vancouver sports radio.
TSN afternoon guys were having a little fun, but they guaranteed Neuvirth trade. Said a free agent goalie with no cap hit playing that well should interest any playoff team and said there is is no way Murray will let him ruin the tank.
Also lots of debate about whether or not Markstrom starts against us tomorrow. One side says they are desperate for wins, Buffalo should be a certain win, why risk it with the back-up? The other side says what easier team to give him some time against?
-
I see the front page transaction column has Nikita and Grigo traded to the Avs for O'Reilly.
What's up with that thing anyway?
-
Larsson should get the better line mates and Hodgson the power play time.
But you know it will be be Flynn and Mitchell.
If we deal Stewart and Mitchell, maybe Girgorenko will get a chance to finish out the season.
Pysyk should get Gorges' spot for the duration.
It's not like the Amerks are going anywhere this year.
-
so can everyone just step back from the edge now?
The Sabres have only three regulation losses in their past 32 games.
-
If the Sabres go .500 the rest of the way the Yotes would have to go 14-7 to win the Shart.
If the Sabres stick to their current pace, the Yotes would have to go 17-3-1.
-
WGR: Ennis day to day, Zemgus could be for the season?
-
Stewart is gone for prospect at the deadline never to return.
Neuwirth isn't traded and re-signs before the draft.
-
Myers, Stafford, Gorges, Enroth, Zemgus, Ennis... this is playing right into Ted (TankBuster) Nolan's hands.
-
I'm enjoying this game.
Really like what I'm seeing from Pysyk.
Larsson and McCabe look like they belong, Hodgson smiled for the first time since October...
-
My guess is that jersey ends up somewhere in Sierra Leone, in a closet next to the Buffalo Bills Super Bowl XXV Champion T-shirts.

I'd say the shared loyalty of the fellow Sufferers on this forum is what keeps this bearable.
It's like a giant support group.
Gap between McDavid, Eichel, Hannifan, and the rest
in The Aud Club
Posted
In terms of status, I expect mcDavid/Eichel/Hanifan to be Crosby/Tavares/Keith.
After that it's less of a sure thing: Marner could be Kane or Ennis, Strome could be Eric Staal or Sam Gagner
