Yandle to the Rangers... details will filter in as the evening goes on.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 55s
Awaiting details on Yandle to NYR trade (pending trade call) but ARI believed to be picking up 50 per cent of Yandle's money.
Key components likely to be going the other way are Anthony Duclair and draft picks, incl a 1st round pick. #TradeCentre.
Domi and Duclair together again. Reinhart to follow?

I like Stewart's skill and his ability to chuck 'em, but the idea that he is a good forechecker is a myth and his defensive game is only saved from being worst on the team by Hodgson.
I'm open to re-signing him to protect McEichel, but I will be pissed if they don't trade him first. -
Dammit, even in the salary cap era, Rangers never change. Always in it fortune if names.
It's like Sather likes to win shiny toys more than cups.
-
Stewart perhaps the most prominent chip still out there, unless the Sharks start selling.
Islanders, Rangers, Canadiens, Red Wings, Lightning, Blues — teams in the race yet to make a "serious" move.
I wonder if any of them are bidding against Boston for Stewart, or if it's Spooner and second by attrition.
And it's going to be a dull deadline day. No one left to trade.

Been wondering same. The wording I've seen on the Winnipeg deal is Buffalo's choice of first rounders.
Whether that is the three first rounders we had, or any first rounder we gain, I don't know.
After reading the Miller trade last year, I'm quite sure the possibility is covered. Must have taken eight lawyers to write up that Miller deal.
-
Only the second or third game I've missed all year. This was quite the thread.
I've read through six pages and all I learned about the game was we got outshot and lost and Sabrespace is struggling to keep it together.
Mediocrity was the disease. Like it or not, these two painful seasons have been the treatment.
There are no guarantees of rainbows unicorns and jujubes when we emerge at the other end.
Chemo ain't easy. You grit your teeth. You take it it.
You hope life gets better on the other side, but you play the cards you're dealt.
Hang in there people. Only 19 games to go.

Well done
-
Well I'm only speculating here but im willing to bet that we weren't offering him a 3 year deal. I'm pretty surprised that's what he got
That's my answer right there.

I wonder what would make a quarterback pick Cleveland over Buffalo?
To me, Rex Ryan, plus Pegula bucks, plus that defence should make the Bills a more attractive destination.
-
I think Murray is holding out for a first or a Subban-level prospect and is willing to add in order to make it happen.
Given what we've seen in the Kane, Fasching and Miller deals, Murray is not afraid to get complicated or go big.
It may be less about selling Stewart to the highest better and more about moving pieces in order to get someone he has targeted.
I'm pretty sure the Fasching deal came about through the Moulson rental talks, even though Moulson never ended up going to LA.

According to this article,
the buyout cost the Sabres $800,000 cap space for eight years.
Longer than I would have thought.
-
Sabres give up $12 million (difference between Horton contract and a Hodgson buyout) to save a cap hit of less than a million?
I know Pegula can just drill another well, but I sure wouldn't be doing that.
-
Caphit vs no caphit
Isn't the cap hit on a Hodgson less than $1 million and isn't Horton owed $25 million?
I wouldn't do it.
-
They can buy Hodgson out for considerably less than they were paying Horton.
I don't think they will. He's terrible, but he's just too young for the entire league to think he's gone Leino.
-
I was pretty tough on Weber last year, but he has been much better this year, IMO — back up to where he was and where he should be.
It's like Ink always says, if you don't ask him to do too much, Weber's a solid NHL bottom-pairing defenceman.
-
They don't have to call Pysyk up if Benny and the Mess get traded.
I think the franchise needs to take a look at Jerome Leduc before they decide to qualify him.
Ruhwedel, Petrecki, Bagnall, a trade to re-acquire Gragnani, comebacks by Dean Kennedy and Jay Wells — the options are endless
-
I would suggest that at the moment Pysyk is the second best defenceman on the roster after Bogosian.
Two games, two points, two wins.
Tim Murray has seen enough.
Who posted that calling him up was going to ruin the tank?
Take a bow.
-
Wow. Last year, the Bruins traded a 3rd that would have upgraded to a 2nd had they made the final four...for Meszaros.
He wasn't very good last year either.
Maybe the desperation to add defensive depth for a playoff run means we actually can dish off Benny and the Mess.
-
From the context I took it as a guy who had trashed a particular player in the past who has had a change of heart.
It literally could be anyone.
-
The Blues calling on Stewart would count as a surprise call to Murray.
I think we will do a deal to take on salary.
Neuvirth is going nowhere.
-
What a great game! Stewart rocked and the Mitchell line was on fire!
I think we're ready to turn the corner.
-
So, Zemgus was the tank commander...?
-
Nobody was OK with that Meszaros for a bag of pucks and one free round of jersey scrubbing from the laundry squad?.
Said all of the UFAs won't be traded.
And WTF on the Horton/Clarkson trade?
-
Nice move by the Panthers if making the playoffs is a key to the franchise plan.

Come on you guys, what happened to this year's Sabres being "historically bad?" :P
And if that is the price for a first-pairing defenceman with a year left to UFA, then I guess Bailey, Weber, NYI second and next year's first is a good starting point in the O'Reilly negotiations.
Et Tu Blue?
