  1. This stuff fascinates me. it is pretty clear that Dreger is being fed info by Darren Ferris in order to get some of Hall's preferred destinations to step up. It is also clear that Lebrun is being fed info by a leading Hall chaser, trying to pressure Adams into taking what's on the table now.
  2. Skinner Eichel New Guy Olofsson Reinhart Cozens Asplund Mitts Tage Zemgus Lazar Kyle ...looks a lot better than it did a month ago, with Cozens and Reinhart shifting according to whatever position/style new guy is.
  3. Edmonton and Toronto. And kudos to Adams if he can get those top two northern teams bidding against each other.
  4. I am the opposite I put Hall's value at somewhere between pick 30-40. If Adams gets better than that I'll be quite happy. If he gets a pick in the 50-60 range, plus a small sweetener, I'll be mildly disappointed, but accept it as the best the market had to offer. I hope Adams can get creative, like Fitzgerald did with Palmieri, but it's pretty easy to put myself in a GM's shoes and decide that the player I've been watching this year isn't worth a 1st.
  5. Definitely that. I got not problem with people who wanted or still prefer other players. I do have a problem with people acting like he's not a good prospect.
  6. Not specific to your question, but is it not true that there has tended to be more hits from college and Europe in the late rounds than CHL players?
  7. I don't think this Twitter account has any more sources than I do, but I agree with you and @Brawndo that this would be a haul for the Sabres. Hall's worth seems to be getting pegged as a late 1st to late 2nd. I can see a world where Rasmus Sandin's value is pegged similarly. Contrary to what most fans might think, I see Ullmark is a huge on-ice upgrade and a $2.4 million cap savings from Anderson. That has to be worth a good return. But I doubt it would get you Nick Robertson on his own, let alone Robertson and another prospect. I don't see this happening, but the pieces are interesting to speculate on. A top 6 LW has been talked about as the Leafs preferred add this deadline. Their top prospects are allegedly on the table. Personally, I think Ullmark makes the Leafs a legit cup contender. It would be interesting to see if Dubas feels the same way. Robertson is an excellent prospect 10 points in 12 games in the AHL this year after leading the OHL in scoring last year. Sandin is a good prospect. Probably ranks at a similar level to where Jokiharju was when we got him from Chicago. Getting two young players who are close to NHL ready would be the ideal scenario for the Sabres.
  8. We've seen a few references on here to Rutherford still being under contract. Can any business lawyers explain how that works? Is it likely he had a clause in his contract that allowed him to quit but restrains him from taking work elsewhere?
  9. Yeah, that fits. Crisp was the senior guy when Royce was fired so he took over. Botts brought Jankowski to be director of amateur scouting over Crisp after the draft. https://www.nhl.com/sabres/news/sabres-hire-director-of-amateur-scouting/c-290336526 Jankowski is the scouting director for the Coyotes now, while Crisp is a scout with the Kraken after each was fired in the Botterill bloodbath last June.
  10. WTF? Did I not just post the bones of this trade yesterday? Who is the puck authority?
  11. Botterill's dad taught Krueger in school, but Botterill did not know him. Krueger was recommended to Botterill by Jimmy Rutherford, who had a relationship with him from his Carolina days.
  12. Wasn't the 2017 draft the only one headed by Jeff Crisp? If I remember correctly he took the reins when Greg Royce was fired along with Murray and Jankowski didn't step in until after the draft? We've signed our final four picks from that year (UPL, Laaksonen, Bryson, and Weissbach), which is pretty unusual. Other 2 picks are Casey, and 2nd-rounder Marcus Davidsson, who we have until June to sign, and is looking like a bust.
  13. I'm telling you, the disrespect this kid gets is not deserved.
  14. AJ Greer is (indirectly) the players the Avs took with the Sabres 2nd in the first ROR trade. I say indirectly, because they traded down a few slots first.
  15. The addition to Zajac to the package makes it hard to make a Hall comparison. It does remove the other top offensive player available, but is there enough competition and flexibility out there to net us a 1st? Personally, I’d rather have Palmieri than Hall for a playoff run, but maybe GMs haven’t been jaded by watching him play 30 with the Sabres.
  16. This is kinda funny (and sad) Our current return for ROR is 3rd pair D Colin Miller and unproven youngsters Tage Thompson and Ryan Johnson The Avs current return for ROR is 3rd liner JT Compher and pending UFAs Kyle Burroughs and Brandon Saad I think we actually may have done better than the Avs did.
  17. According to the fancystats they were the only line that was effective 5-on-5
  18. Is it realistic to think this trio can be a viable 3rd line next year? I guess we’ll have a better sense of this in a month.
  19. Oh don’t kid yourself, the ants have been marching for a long time.
  20. It’s like arguing if you’d rather have Meszaros or Benoit, but I’d rather have a general resistance to Russians than have a fracker arbitrarily deciding who we should draft with our first pick every year. Please, please let Rutherford get his promise.
  21. I’m reading this as Sergachev, was vetoed for xenophobic reasons, so Nylander was next up.
  22. I read your initial post as Terry wanted Nylander, but this is almost as troubling.
  23. He’s been like that all year, it’s just that people were slow to notice. Hasnt allowed 4 goals in regulation since January of 2020.
  24. Other than an initial blip of flash when Ralph was first fired, I think Skinner has been notably the same non-productive player he has been the past two years. 1G 1A in the 10 games since Ralph was sent packing, and his ice time is dwindling. Less than 11 minutes last night, even down a forward.
  25. Well said. He tries hard and is generally responsible, but is not making plays. And the fact his PP production has stalled just draws more attention to it.
