I’ve seen Mitts get crapped on from time to time this month in GDTs. Not buying that. He hasn’t been perfect, and I think he’s got more to give still, but he’s been rounding into form. Looks much stronger holding the puck and moving it in confined spaces and he looks comfortable with the pace of NHL play again. His 2ndary assist on the Asplund goal was nice play to find the puck, then walk the line, and Friday’s feed to Victor was a thing of beauty. He’s also quietly leading the team with 6 assists in March, and is just 1 behind Skinner and Tage with 8 points. I think a major component of the recent surge is the depth we’ve developed up front now that we’re getting healthy and he has been a significant part of that change.

Jacob is +7 this month playing more than 20 minutes per game, mostly on his off-hand. Leads a team that has been outscored over that span.

Capfriendly says 4 contract slots left. Power gets 1. It would be surprising and disappointing if Johnson doesn’t get another. Then Levi and Portillo. You figure Amerks ATO deal?

Hughes, to me, is Phil Housley. Power is Larry Robinson without the intimidation factor.

7/3/2 in what has been probably the toughest stretch of games in the season. First line was bad tonight. Probably was the difference.

Mule sitting on +3 at the moment for this game. Nice little run of +9 is his last 8 games after going 17 games in a row never recording a + game.

Didn’t see much of the game today, but in general I find him to be conscientious and smart, but not physically strong.

The number of stops he’s making lately has been impressive. And entertaining hockey. Again.

When they took a guy higher than many had him rated in large part because of his character? Lambert’s track record screams me-first, entitlement, and inability to handle adversity. He seems to be the antithesis of what Adams is trying to build here.

It should be pointed out that Levi walked away from his “family” to sit in the press box in China for 3 weeks this year. My take is that Weekes was actually used by someone else to get Adams to cave. If it was Adams, the rumour was clumsy and ill-considered, damaging his rep with other GMs, and crushing it with Treliving and Weekes. Krebs, Tuch, 1st were done, Adams was haggling for the 4th piece, McCrimmon was getting tired, Jack was at the end of his rope. The net effect of the clearly false Calgary rumour was to piss off Treliving throw cold water on any talks Adams was having over there. Leverage gone, Adams accepted a 2nd for a 3rd rather than Brisson, or whatever he was holding out for. Remember, Jack wanted to go to Vegas.

I know there is a considerable warm fuzzy happening right now, but this remains a 23/33 team, 30 points out of a playoff spot and these guys are pros who understand and expect competition for their jobs.

There is no way in hell the Sabres are drafting Lambert with their top pick.

Looking at the players listed as centres who have played 30 games, he’s tied with Bergeron for 31st in P/G. I see at least 5 guys (Reinhart, Marchesseault, Nelson,Kyrou, Schmaltz, maybe Schenn, Nugent-Hopkins) in the top 40 I don’t consider centres. Maybe there are others listed as wingers who are? 🤷

He lets in far more 40-foot shots than he should. Other than that he's looked strong to me pretty much since November.
