If Reinhart isn't on the team next season then it'd be extremely disappointing...
I agree
What will be really interesting is how they are going to accommodate Grigorenko and Reinhart assuming we get a McEichel.
That's the main reason why I think either Ennis or Hodgson — or maybe both — will be gone.

Have faith people. I had absolutely no faith that Regier would lead us to the promised land and he was apparently well respected by the other members of the ol boys club. Sure we came close once or twice during his tenure but we all know the outcome. Nada, Zip. Everyone knew going into this season what the product would look like. We had torn away most of the pieces that couldn't deliver. We had watched them grow and we were aware of their capabilities. So trade them for picks and start developing from within. We were also aware that FA's were not tripping over themselves to come here. Home grown talent was the answer and everyone from fans to media alike knew that was the direction to go. We are also early into this build. So what I don't quite understand is why all the hand wringing and whining ? Patience is a virtue that few of you have. I do and I'm in it for the long haul. There's a few others here that have it too. Have some faith. What I do know is if the crying gets loud enough for ownership to abandon the ' plan ' halfway then we are really in for a shitshow. Stay the course.
:clapping: You speak for me.
The team looks worse than I thought, but the record is pretty much exactly what I expected.
Moan all you want about what got us here, but this season was never to be enjoyed, only endured.
Cross your fingers that Girgensons, Reinhart and Risto are more Ramsay, Schoenfeld and Martin than they are Anderson, Cyr and Lacombe

Tyler Myers and Cody Hodgson for Ryan O'Reilly
-
Conspiracy. League doesn't want to help the tank.
-
Out are Afinogenov, Kotalik, Gaustad, Roy, Hecht and Connolly.
In are the last group of guys to wear the goat heads.
-
Moulson ??? ???
??? Girgensons ???
??? Grigorenko Gionta
Deslauriers McCormick Larsson
Myers Gorges
??? Risto
Pysyk/McCabe/Zadorov
Neuvirth
???

Stewart, Stafford, Meszaros, Benoit, Strachan and at least one of the goalies will be gone, probably Mitchell and Kaleta as well.
That's without any trades.

The Shart is no different than the Stanley: you come up with a plan and you execute it to the best of your ability.
You get a coach who can get the players to buy into the system and an owner willing to pay for the right players.
You can do everything right.
But you can't prevent a puck from going over the glass, bacteria on a shin pad, or a referee missing a foot in the crease.
You play the game as best you can and hope the dice roll in your favour.

I'll give people a bit more time vote before updating this.
-
Larson is s bit of a dick.
I'm starting to like him.
-
It's funny being out here in Canuckland, where nobody was too excited about getting him.
"Miller? why? He's done. lack's a better goalie."
Now, it's like, "hey, he's pretty good."
And Jim Benning just gives a smug smile.
-
Myers and Gorges are better than Weber.
After that, he's just another one of six guys that (right now) are basically filler.
-
The Myers talk is so tiresome.
Murray would be stupid to take a mid-first-round pick and a second-round pick (or equivalent young players) for him.
He's got those kinds of assets coming out of his ass, but he's only got one defenceman like Myers.
And most other GMs would be stupid to give up more.
These "Myers for an elite prospect" or "Myers for some team's fifth-best prospect and a 2nd rounder" proposals are driving me nuts.
Only way Myers gets moved is as part of a blockbuster involving roster players, or if someone gets stupid.
...unless Victoria Principal is available.

This league went for the Metropolitan.
I'm beyond any investment in what it calls things.
-
Not the best of his generation, probably, but maybe.
Certainly a generational talent, though.
And, last, but not least, we won the right to draft him by winning a spinning wheel version of a draft lottery.
You know, we do seem to forget about that. It doesn't fit the Buffalo narrative.

Eliminated: Lydman, Stafford, Kaleta, Enroth, Ott, Kim Pegula
This fourth group now entering the game is interesting, since they were all here the last time the team was good.
Down to three and close to promotion time in each of group one and two.

I recorded the votes using what Eleven suggested and then deleted the poll entirely.
I am about to build a new, updated one from scratch. Hopefully that takes care of the problem.
-
I think most of us like Weber. We just wish he were better.
As a few have said, if he is a number six on a good team, he would be universally loved.
And to be fair, he has been better this year. Last year was a train wreck.
-
This one has Battista all over it.
-
Only three votes for Stafford?
-
Might have been their best game of the season.
Montreal might have played their worst and we still lost.
But that was more the team I was expecting this year.
-
2nd round of cuts: Foligno Weber, Moulson and Regehr.
Darcy's darlings enter the game.
I will try to update this once a day.
-
My third goalie is Quick. I may have to give up something there in order to help my scoring.
-
Hahahhaaha, my goalies also started the week with shutouts. Allen and Crawford?
Yep. Now if my team would only start scoring some goals.
Maybe I shouldn't have picked nOlan to coach.

Yep. We should be thinking:
What will Grigorenko Hodgson and the Blues first get us?
How about Zadorov, Foligno and Ennis?
You know that's what Murray is looking at.
The key is keeping the right kids and acquiring the right players to help those kids over the top.
Murray's got lots to work with, but he has a helluva big job ahead of him.
