Absolutely. We need a 5/6 who can step up into a #4 role with an injury. With a full roster at the blue line we can compete. If with any of our top 4 out, we struggle. I know on the road you can't just give them favorable matchups, but I think splitting up the kids might have been a mistake. They are so much more comfortable with each other. I it may have been better to just rotate one of the vets on Myer's left.

It's the Superbowls. It broke everyone. Winning was nothing. Winning games was what you did in your spare time on Sundays in November. The Trophy was all that mattered. Notre Dame overtook Michigan in all time winning percentage last year or the year before. I don't care. All I care is that we have 0 important wins since 1993.

I don't think Nolan is the kind of guy that hands out gold stars for participation. I think you're dead on with "don't get him hurt before juniors". I'm not sure there's much to saying Hodgson or Stafford had "earned" more playing time than Samson coming into the season.

There is no one on this team through preseason and the first 9 games that had earned anything. At all. That Samson hadn't earned it compared to his teammates, I believe, had nothing to do with the decision to play him in a protected low minute role. Because it was preordained.
