I know, right! We're down to like 150,000 words available for use. another 6-8 millennia of this PC BS and we'll be back to communicating with hand gestures and "ughs". Or, we could attempt to address the underlying hatred and bias that is causing these words to be co-opted into something new and unacceptable. Either way, really.
-
who? ;)
-
You've essentially summed up how human communication works into two succinct sentences. Well done.
-
yeah. just verified. The LA picks were simply transient currency in the exchange of Robyn for Hudson and Nic.
-
LA Pick was traded back to LA, I think.

There absolutely was an investigation, in which Sterling admitted that the comments were his? What more is needed?

Speak for yourself. My ancestors were poor tenant farmers in Ireland and Serbia up until the last century. They were barely above slaves for their landlords anyway, and never would have even had the thought to own another person. I understand a bunch of rich ###### 500 years ago figured out a way to get richer off the backs of others. I understand my ancestors who lived in poverty avoided a worse fate solely because of their race. I understand that there are consequences of that advantage, an advantage I enjoy to this day. But I'm not willing to blame the 99% of Europeans who lived in abject poverty from the Plague onward for the actions of the Rich.

It's still an accomplishment that the moral outrage in the market was enough to motivate them.
-
Except for the part where they don't: Seguin, Lucic, Kessel 2006-2010 top 6/4 assets selected in the first or second rounds, above my 1 every 2 years rate. Stuart, Bergeron, Krejci 2001-2005 top 6/4 assets selected in the first or second rounds, above my 1 every 2 years rate.
-
You don't have to hit on all 11 picks, I'm not suggesting that. But you absolutely must get at least one first or second round player to the top 6/4 every 2 drafts. That is a minimum to tread water. figuring 2 years development and a 16 year career, that gives you 7 of your 10 top 6/4 assets (to play or trade as needed). Then you just need 3 "lucky finds" in the later rounds plus your depth.

There were bulls in that video?

Oh I agree on the Vanek pick. Could have been much better, but at least he turned into actual top-6/4 material. Which is what you are shooting for with 1st and 2nd round picks. I bookended with stafford and Myers because not a single f'n first or second round pick for 4 years between them panned out to be even a third line or consistent 5/6. That is terrible drafting, and it is the third leg of why we never developed and instead degraded since 2006, along with failure to have a team-wide vision, and letting 4 top line/pair players walk out the door with nothing in return (Briere, Drury, Lydman, Tallinder).
-
Yes, this is the point I was making. I bookended with Stafford and Myers because between them was some fantastically terrible early round drafting.
-
Oh, yes. It is completely dependent on Pegula Bucks. But I expect he'll want the control.
-
OK, but be warned: I die on 198, Bergman and Associates is definitely going to recommend the complete removal option. He could have had both. Would have cost us Weber.
-
What is the complete list of skaters taken in rounds one and two from Stafford (2004) to Myers (2008) too much to handle? Funk, Zagarapan, Gogulla, Persson, Weber, Brennan, and Schiestel? Or is this list worse? Krejci, Oshie, Letang, Berglund, Clutterbuck, Subban, Simmonds. All taken shortly after each of those picks.
-
I expect to see it as soon as the msg contract is up in 2017.
-
I mean, he only picked 3 forwards total in the first 2 rounds between 2006 and 2010. And Ennis is the only one of the three who's played 200 games.
-
Agreed. Also, he failed to draft a center other than Luke Adam in the first 2 rounds for 7 years between marek and mikhail.
-
He'll get more than 4 years, and he'll get mor than $5M these playoffs aside, he had a great year, and he is a name that will put butts in seats in American Arenas.
-
I think Darcy honestly believed he had more in #19, #9, and #28 than he actually did.
-
^That right there. We're taking a Sam.
-
You put together a decent offer, then you had to make it insulting.
-
My contention is that, even given time to develop, a top forward will almost always improve your team more than a top defenseman. In baseball terms, the WAR of the top 30 defensemen are probably all significantly lower than the WAR of the top 30 forwards.
-
The marginal difference among NHL Defensemen is meaningless compared to the marginal difference among top NHL forwards. If any of the top forwards in a draft remain, you take the forward every time. a first round pick and Johnson for Shattenkirk, Nothing (assuming Miller and Ott move on) and Rattie. None of this amounts to a successful #1 pick.
