I don't see any way that Kulich, Savoie and Benson are not on the team next year. Then there's Rosen who might force his way in. I see no reasonable way for Cedar to Crack the lineup. Yes. If the seven Canadian teams broke away from the NHL and formed their own league they likely do not survive. Just like the NBA and MLB, the NHL is an American league with teams in Canada, they just have more of them.

I'm already expecting Kulich, Savoie and Benson on the team next year, I assume you are too. How do you think Cederqvist also makes it?

Adding one team in Atlanta would be an additional 23 players in the league, and one additional callup for most teams. For Buffalo specifically it could mean losing Ollie or Greenway and replacing them with Savoie or Kulich. I'm not knowledgeable enough about youth hockey in Europe and Russia to have an opinion, but I do believe that the quality of player coming up through the American ranks has produced a much higher percentage of quality NHL players than a decade ago.

I think that's a fair point of view. I haven't noticed an appreciable degradation of quality hockey league wide with the expansion of Seattle and Vegas. Their success in short order has really impacted my view on this subject.

I love it. I hope we get to 36 teams by the next decade. I think a bigger American footprint and growing the game is good for the league.

I read that 50M of the 53M for Matthews is in signing bonuses. Is there a financial benefit to this for him? Does he pay less taxes getting his money at once in one lump sum instead of spread out throughout the year? The only benefit I can think of is protection against a buyout, but I don't think that would be a concern at his age.

#1 is similar to what I've been advocating for all summer. Saros for Savoie, 6K, 24 1st, 25 2nd. Saros makes us cup contenders the next two years.

6K was supposed to be in Rochester last year, he was not ready for the NHL. He legitimately stole two or three games the team did not deserve to win. Overall, despite having a winning record, he did not play very well. He's young. It's not unreasonable to think he could mature, learn, develop, and improve in a calendar year. I think he has a good year in a backup roll, playing over thirty games with a winning record.

YMMV of course, but I don't believe you paint a fair picture here. When you say "unceasingly shout about", my mind goes to the 387 sticks Thorny has broken on his dead horse, which is why I find so many of his posts nothing more than eye roll worthy. I don't believe LGR has come close to that level. Again, YMMV.

For the record, I wanted Adams to upgrade the G. I still do. In fact, when hypothetical trades were being thrown around prior to the draft no one on here proposed giving up more than I did for Saros (Savoie, 6K, 23 1st, 24 2nd). That being said, if we go with Levi and 6K I think 6K will get over 30 starts and have a winning record. 6K will be fine.
