    So it looks like the Penner deal was basically a 3-way deal with the Caps pick the Ducks received for Penner going to Dallas for Robbidias (sp?)

    I mentioned it earlier that now that if they try to get someone, its probably as part of a package deal. i would have rather had that package include Fasth coming back this way though

    If your Halak, would you want to resign and be the backup to a team that wants to be rewarded by being the worst ever?I think he would bolt back home to Slovakia/KHL. How much worse can it get for him, comes back from being the starter at the olympics, loses his starting job on a top team by being dealt to the worst team who won't even start him, and now had a chance of going to a playoff team with the Wild and that won't be happening

    Why would the Sabres have to negotiate a deal for the remainder of his contract with them AND have him sign a Confidentiality agreement if it is to protect Lafontaine?

    Is Scrivens going to regret that extension he signed yesterday?I would have liked to see Fasth as being part of a move to come to Buffalo and compete for the starting job.

    Not ignoring it, before that season where were they drafting? They spent the previous 5 years drafting in the 20s, after that one bad year the lowest they were drafting was 8 and 16th. In the last 20 years they have missed the playoffs 5 times. They hardly had to become miserable and bottom out/tank in order to win the cup
