Lmao what's the rule in that situation?
With the net?
From my understanding, if the net comes off due to the goalie or one of his teammates, and the puck goes in and would have been in if the net was still in place, then its a good goal, this way the goal or his team can't just knock the net off when theres a fight over the puck close to the net to prevent a goal

That is a horrendous call. Knocked off on purpose or not.
If the goalie is knocking the net off, its the right call if the puck went in and it wasn't because the net was moved

Whats there to discuss, your sieve pushed the net off?
maybe if he was focused on the puck he could have made a save....

Sounds like they stop it cold.
On this broadcast they said how in the Detroit outdoor game the clock stopped on a breakaway

How does the change over work. Does the ref stop play at 10 minutes so they can change ends or does the play keep running til a stoppage?
The clock stops and horn goes like the end of a period

Wayne has an amazing story for everything!,
Are they as good as getting to see Bieksa eating a hot Dog from a crowd of Leafs fans and finding out one of the older guys in the crowd was his cousin and not his uncle?

I actually was disappointed the Sabres weren't able to get Mrazek
Man was I wrong on that one..................

They are probably better than this rubbish on TNT. At least we would expect bias. These guys are not announcing the play by play. They are just commenting on it.
Right now they are showin Ron Maclean and I believe a member of the Arkells introducing & celebrating the Gold medal winning womens hockey team on the main stage at the Sabres 'Home' game

Didn’t they just mandate that they are all under a certain size
They showed a clip of Mrazek trying on a pair of the old leather pads in the locker room and they looked like they fit, then they had a photo of the pads side by side with the ones he wears and his pads were about a foot taller.

Jump him after the game in the parking lot???
In that area of Hamilton, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that happening, although he might be the only one letting him leave his wallet and just wanting the jacket.....

I'm pretty sure they think they're giving the fans what they want.
All access tv with an all time great. Nothing is off limits and they are just letting Wayne riff.
I loved watching Wayne play but I give a damn about any of the other stuff.
With it being TNT, and broadcasting to the National audience, their audience is expected to be mostly 'Hockey fans' who probably don't have a prefered team between the ones playing and just tuning in to catch a national outdoor game. In Canada we are getting that on Sportsnet, but like usual they are the Leafs broadcast and focus on them only

Nice to hear Gretzky's opinion on participation trophies. Great insight there 🙄
Considering Waynes career, He probably wouldn't understand whats wrong with getting a trophy after playing because usually he walked away with one every year......

Ummmm, Stanley Cup Champion Dave Andreychuk comes to mind. Former Sabre by the way.
(That last line was sarcasm, Andreychuk would have ties to both, Adam Mair is another....)

Game is pretty good. Too bad announcers are missing it talking about Wayne's 30 year old stories.
Well they have to get the insight of a local (he grew up only about 45 minutes from this game & works for TNT)
Its not like Hamilton has ever produced an NHLer, let alone one that may have played for the supposed 'Home team"......

Why is Biz wearing a maple leafs tie? And this is the US broadcast team. What the literal *****
I'm assuming thats Bissenette?
He is from Welland, even though its closer to Buffalo there are still too many Leafs fans there.....

oh, we are the Super Bowl half time show now.
This is aweful
"Local" performer (about a 1/2 hour drive away) with her band and the 'fans' surrounding the stage dressed in Leafs jerseys at a Sabres 'Home Game'
Guess the Pegulas really need those few extra bucks to upgrade the yacht.
Are they also playing goal music for the Leafs goal?

Agreed, but I think because of the later development curve of the position, teams move on from them more than other positions. There are only 2 per team so moving on from 1 is a 50% turnover and if both don’t stick.
Most of the guys on your list showed signs of being an NHL starter fairly early on in their careers.
I still find it interesting that Washington has drafted 5 NHLers while Colorado has only 1.
It also might have more to do with only needing 2 on the roster so you can't stock pile alot of them so you use them as trade chips. Once you find a good one, you rarely move on from them until they are older. For many teams, it's been years since they had to look at the goaltending market for anything more then a decent affordable backup. A good starter can be in place for a decade + so for a while your less likely to draft one.

He’s not.
He is, however, better than Dell and Tokarski, and should be more capable of playing 40 games than Craig Anderson.
Adams appears to be shopping in a Venn Diagram of “available” “OK with Buffalo” “affordable cap hit” “affordable acquisition cost” “not going to block UPL” and “doesn’t have term”
I hope we do better, but Georgiev is one of a very small group of goalies who fits.
I think with Georgiev being young he still has potential to be good/decent starter (1b type).
There's a short list of goalies though that you would have an argument over Dell being better then, Hutton might be the only one to come to mind.......
Tokarski is an ok emergency goalie, and Anderson can't be relied on to play many games. I think keeping UPL in Rochester for another season is the best option if the Sabres can improve their goaltending rather then giving him the starter job because there's no one else, or letting him sit behind someone on the bench. Let him get the playing time in the minors and force the Sabres to give him the job. No one's ever been destroyed by playing too long in the minors. If Georgiev can become a good starter, having him and UPL, plus some good prospects at the position in the wings is a great problem to have.

RD Schnieder would be the ideal target, don’t see the Rangers sacrificing that chip on Olofsson.
G Georgiev, F Chytil and Kravtsov are players the Rangers might move that the Sabres might have interest in.
Rangers also have a late 1st and 2 2nds.
RD Lundkvist might be the sweet spot.
Miller, Anderson and Olofsson for Georgiev and Lundkvist, with the Sabres retaining?
In that article mentioning VO as a trade option, it says the Rangers would be looking for a veteran backup goalie, I would make Georgiev a target and add Anderson from Buffalo side

Future considerations seems like an overpayment.
I remember thinking when the Sabres brought him in it was a mistake, he had never played full season and only had about one good year. It wasn't like he was a young prospect at the time.
And almost all the talk on the deal mentions how he has been statistically the worst goaltender in the league the last few years. There were a few Leafs fans commenting on how it couldn't be worse the Mrazek last night....... Dubas might be trying to prove them wrong

In ye olde days, the team had a designated defenceman as a third and fourth stringer. I remember Pat Hannigan mentioning that Larry Hillman had been replaced by Tim Horton as the Sabres' emergency goaltender on channel 7 once. Maybe that's true now?
So Rob Ray or Marty Biron?
Their emergency third was injured weeks ago playing for Pegulas other franchise. Who would have thought losing White would doom the Bills and Sabres this season. Maybe he has a few guys at the academy that can fill in?

I have some bad news for you. We will have two goalies for the Western trip.
What could possibly go wrong? They have a 40 year old with only a handful of games played over the last 2 seasons coming back from a long stint on IR after a couple of practices, and another one who says he can feel different day to day from the affects of a respiratory virus.

A "generational" defenseman should be plug and play with anybody.
If he's "Generational", its not looking good for the future of the position....... J/K
So is Dahlin the New Eichel/whipping boy that fans will ride out of town for more 'future' assets.....

They aren't giving up anything.
They will eventually have to give up something, thats what 'future considerations' are.
whether its a very low pick, or some scrub prospect whos barely hanging on to a roster spot in the minors, eventually something has to go the other way.

One of the 'discretion' calls
They mentioned on the sportsnet broadcast that they can call it a good goal if the puck would have went in with the net in place (so it didn't go in on an angle that would have normally hit a post)
