Yzerman has been in Detroit one more year then KA has been here. Last year, they gave up 22 more goals and finished a point back of Buffalo.
How long has Detroit been in rebuild mode with top 5 picks?

I said in another post, I don't think it's that there are a bunch of goalies rejecting Buffalo as much as its the Sabres not wanting whats available. Murray was more about getting to.move up in the 1st to take the cap hit from Ottawa. Otherwise they seem to want the older veteran type guy on a 1-2 year deal so they don't block the younger guys. I think it's more likely they go back to the bargain bin for someone like Holtby to compete with Anderson for a role to backup (or start in front of) UPL who will be given the chance to take the job
Adam's seems to prefer the slow approach of building from within and give the prospects openings to take the jobs rather then using every option to improve

The problem there is the defense not the goalies as Freddy Anderson proved last season. Maybe they should trade Nylander to open cap to get a real D or two. If not they are doomed to not compete for a Cup. So sad, to bad.
I think it's a bit of both. The goalies aren't great, but the also aren't why they lose. The defence needs work but instead they would rather spend cap space to sign older forwards

if true, what a terrible way to build a team. What if the young guy with potential is better?
I agree, i always think your looking to improve what you have, I don't think there's ever been a player who's been ruined by having to play a bit longer in the minors. And if you end up with good players Blocking a prospect, you now have an asset to use in a trade.

He wants to reunite with Dubas and Keefe. He will be the chosen one to return Toronto to the top of the heap.
I hope so because it will end up being another goaltending flop for the Leafs. It took them less then a season to go from Campbell the hero to throwing him away.

I don't think Murray was really wanted here either, it was about taking a contract back to move up. Ottawa wants to move him and his contract, Sabres have the cap space to absorb the hit, similar to Chicago's move for Mrazek.
I also don't think that there's many goalies that don't want to come here and more likely the Sabres aren't interested in alot of the goalies. From. What I have heard/seen, they don't want a young guy with potential because they don't want to block UPL and the others. They would rather just fill the spot with some older veterans on short term deals that they can be out of in a year or 2.

Moving from 16 to 7 would likely be the equivalent of a late first to send him here, with some retention.
That's what I saw
Basicaly the Sabres move up to 7 in a swap for 16, and take Murray off the Sens hands (with some retention)
-
Does anyone know where we can send him gift baskets as a thank you for not coming here?
It looks like the Sabres were doing g it as a favor to the Sens to move up in the draft since it looked like Murray and 7th for 1 of the Sabres 1st.

"Skill it up"? That's a bizarre statement. So they are saying they are against having players use their skills to score goals?
When the team is up by 5 with around 5 minutes to go in the game.......

The same way that Al Smith "saluted" the Knoxes and Imlach when he was passed over for Don Edwards?
Both teams saluted the fans

Leafs have talent, but that team has no heart.
Sabres walking out of the stadium like they're the Charleston Chiefs.
They are like the Oilers, a ton of talent at Forward, but have neglected the Defence and Goaltending thinking that a couple of high priced forwards will carry them

I would say this almost guarantees them bringing him in.
Anderson retired about a week or 2 before signing in Buffalo last year, they traded for a goalie who's basically retired this off-season already...
