Doesn't work: this team played well until the GTG against Washington. Many players need to learn playoff-level mental toughness.
And how do you do that when you never make it to the playoffs?

This year is likely shot, but we've got the core of a good team and the worst is definitely behind us.

They went to see us crush the Bruins. Eternal optimism. But why complain? Maybe I’m missing you r point. No worries.
Were they also going to the game on their Unicorns to sit next to Sasquatch
If they thought there was going to be a 'Crushing of the Bruins' they are beyond Optimism and more into the Delusional category

The ONLY thing that matters is getting to the PLAYOFFS
Your rebuilding till you do
Wrong, just getting to the playoffs isn't good enough. If your not a cup contender its better to miss the playoffs so you can get great players through better draft picks.
Thats what was said all the time here when the Sabres were Tanking for Eichel...

That’s not the fault of the Sabres fans that are there and cheering. I’ve heard them. God only knows how they are doing it. Sadomasochists I guess?
Most likely, I was also going to say that I would complain about the fans being there for wanting to see this in person......

Cherry on top. I wouldn’t want to play after watching UPLs shootout appearance either
But I also wouldn't want to play Goalie with the defences play in front of me either.....

Team that was scoring 4+ goals a game can’t score more than 1 anymore. They don’t care and their system is trash
Bad Goaltending?

Why is the crowd utterly embarrassing?
Because they are mostly in Black and Gold with B's?

Wow, did losing to Washington take the starch out of this team. They stopped believing.
I would rather believe it is the lack of support by the Front Office not wanting to risk losing precious Picks and prospects, or deviating from the 'Future' plan by showing faith in this group that they could make the playoffs with a bit of help.....
Instead of rewarding this group with getting further then people believed and being in a position to make the playoffs, they are told the future is more important and that just making the playoffs isn't going to help their development.....

How can you tell? It's all Bruins fans.
It will be an easy poll going over to the 10 fans still in attendance and ask them who they boo'd

Its Buffalo sabres hockey, just keep lowering your standards as the seasons goes on if you want to be pleased with it.....

Reality check here. We know this team is the youngest team in the league and shows its inexperience and inconsistency on many nights. It's been an exciting team this year -- until playoff hockey started. On a yearly basis, this is the time of year when the best teams tighten up, batten down the hatches and don't play pond hockey anymore. A good comparison last year was the type of year Quinn was having with the Amerks, but when the playoffs started, he was just shut down. Lots of our guys can't tolerate playoff hockey. We're just too weak and inexperienced and don't have the goaltending, defense or coaching to compete with this different and non-forgiving brand of hockey.
This collapse at the end, especially with the tougher back-loaded schedule, was all too predictable.
Then its a good thing they won't attempt to make the playoffs until we are ready to be a dynasty and are cup favorites.
At this time of year, the best teams & teams in contention for the playoffs also have a confidence boost because their management showed faith by making some moves to improve their teams and get them what they need for a playoff push........

4 Bruins coming in on net, 2 Sabres defencemen back with them and 3 forwards just strolling in from the blue line behind the play........
I have seen soccer players score with less of a 'Kick'......

Are you saying it is the fans’ fault?
I'm saying that its been something going on for years. People talk about the amount of opponents jerseys in the crowd but its something season ticket holders consistently do because they can make money off it

Has there ever been a big protest in Buffalo regarding ownership?
Maybe it’s time. TP hasn’t been visible at all. He needs to address the fans, the paying customers.
TP is too busy posing for his statue Bills fans are building for him at their new stadium...

That’s entirely on the Sabres to correct. We’ve been season ticket holders for decades and while we give the tickets to relatives and friends rather than sell them, I resolved not to attend another game in person when they lost 3-0 to Philly at home back in January. And I won’t until I’m convinced they have re-earned my in person patronage. They are one of the worst home teams in the league. And that’s just not our fault as fans.
I can’t blame my fellow ticket holders for selling them and recouping some of the cost. I see many Boston fans sitting in seats surrounding ours where normally people we’ve known for years would be sitting. When the Sabres are back, the fans will be as well. In the meantime, letter from Dahlin just aren’t gonna cut it.
Why would the Sabres care about 'correcting' that issue? The Pegulas got their money when the season tickets were sold
And its been going on for Decades, even when teh Sabres were good that the arena would fill with Leafs fans and some of the other big teams fans because Sabres fans are always looking to recoup the cost of the Season tickets by selling the hot games to opposing teams fans.

On a serious note, I'd prefer one who stays on his skates more vs. going down too much leaving the entire upper half of the net open.
Is there anyone who does this anymore?

Swayman has been great and has anticipated well. That last try by Mittelstadt was a great example. Swayman knew Casey was there and was already sliding over as soon as the shot came from the point. He also has Sabres players shoot the puck at his chest. (Cozens.)
But Swayman also benefits from the 5 guys in front of him doing their jobs: not giving the Sabres room to make plays. On the other hand, the Sabres chase the puck and leave players open. Bing-bang-boom.
Atleast 2 of the Bruins goals where from Bruins players who were left wide open on the other side of the net as the defencement were standing around UPL and 3 others skating into the picture from behind as the pucks in the net....

This is on Granto and maybe more Adams. You can't use NHL to develop your Prospects and NOT have this happen to you when teams are honing for the Playoffs.
Peterka, UPL not ready. UPL wasn't even playing well in Rochester.
Starting to question Adams approach, STINKS right this moment
I have said it before, I don't think any player has even been ruined by spending too much time in the minors, but MANY have been ruined by being forced up early.
But when your only plan to build is to use the draft and fill the occasional hole with lower level players and reclamation projects, this is what you get

Granato is a great guy but if there's an upgrade in the summer they need to fire him .
He was great for half the season thats it .
Thats unacceptable
Granato and Adams are in way over their heads, but what else is new around here
Atleast they have Picks and Prospects!

What does Greenway offer? He’s absolutely invisible.
He doesn't upset the chemistry!
It would be much worse for the development of this team to try and upgrade and get into the playoffs where they can get playoff experience, even if they end up getting blown out.

The years just continue to beat you down. Some can still fight it and stay positive that everything will be OK, for others, they have been beaten down so much that you get to the 'I'll believe it when i see it" mentality.
