  1. Again, as said many times before, it would be great to give up our garbage and get something of value, but very rarely does that ever happen. If you want something of value, you have to give up something of value.
  2. He turns it around and you have an even better trade chip at the deadline now, or you keep him to provide some "veteran" leadership to your young team. I find it really hard to believe they will actually get a young, cheap, Top 6 forward, along with a Top prospect from a team, for someones rights, who hasn't proven much outside of one season
  3. You still haven't proven that the Sabres faced more backups than other teams.I did delete a repsonse because I said for you to do some research and show some proof, which you did while I was typing that out
  4. Change of scenery could get him back to his best? (Its Lindy and his system thats keeping everyone from hitting their potential IIRC)That could make him a steal if they get him plus a top prospect AND Pegs is paying part of his salary........
  5. What I was originally responding to was this
  6. He has tried to say both, that teams look to play their backups against the Sabres cause they are teh weaker team, and that the run at the end of the season is because of itRask may be well rested (along with their entire team), but Rask gave up 6 last tiem he faced Buffalo, the backup only 1, why wouldn't you try the hot hand again against Buffalo?
  7. I have to ask, HOW HAS HE DONE THAT????
  8. Did we really, or is this just another misconception around here that you have decided to take as fact cause it makes your point?Going back on last seasons run, its not looking like they were facing everyones backup..... Apr 7 - Bruins Tim Thomas Apr 5 - Flyers Bryzgalov Apr 3 & Mar 31 - Toronto Ben Scrivens (Starter due to Reimer being injured) Mar 30 - Pittsbrugh Johnson Mar 27 - Washington Holtby (starts but is changed for Neuvirth) Mar 24 - Minnesota Harding Mar 23 - NY Lundqvist Mar 21 - Montreal Price Mar 19 - TB Tokarski Mar 17 - Florida Theodore Mar 14 - Colorado Varlamov Mar 12 - Montreal Budaj Mar 10 - Ottawa Bishop Mar 8 - Boston Thomas Mar 7 - Carolina Ward Mar 5 - Winnipeg Pavelec Mar 3 - Vancouver Schneider Mar 1 - San Jose Niemi Feb 29 - Anaheim Hiller Feb 25 - NY Lundqvist Feb 24 - Boston Rask Feb 21 - Islanders Poulin Feb 19 - Pittsburgh Johnson Feb 17 - Montreal Price Feb 16 - Philadelphia Bryz Feb 14 - NJ Brodeur Feb 11 - TB Garon Feb 10 - Dallas Lehtonen Feb 8 - Boston Rask Feb 4 - Islanders Montoya Feb 1 - NY Lundqvist Jan 31 - Montreal Price Jan 24 - NJ Brodeur Jan 21 - St Louis Halak Jan 19 - Winnipeg Pavelec Jan 18 - Chicago Crawford Jan 16 - Detroit Howard Jan 14 - Islanders Nabokov Jan 13 - Toronto Gustavson (Reimer was out with an injury still) Last 41 games of the season (Last half of the season), faced 12 backups (29% of their games during their big turn around) Anyone know the average amount of times a team plays against a backup goalie a season?
  9. I would think that because he isn't playing this year, he stays a RFA in July unless he plays? I would be very leery to give up Sekera right now in a deal, he has been one of the best defenders this season for the Sabres already week defence.
  10. Tickets are available from the box office, unless your trying to get them cheap/free from someone here...........
  11. You do realise that in teh last 2 games we played against the Bruins, When teh #1 played the Sabres lit him up for 6 goals (7 in the game), and when their #2 played, he let in only 1If I was the coach, I would think that I would play the guy who had success beating the team I'm playing the last time we played. But of course, continue on thinking that its solely because its the Sabres who suck so bad that teams will always play their backup against them because its an easy win for them.....
  12. Try Stub Hub, probably get them much cheaper I think that the Sabres site usually puts up all the leftover tickets that they have held for the game up on their site around noon if it says the game is sold out now. Keep checking from around 11 on and you may find some blocks of tickets open up.
  13. That does meet the requirements that they are asking for.I would guarantee that the Avs would be asking for a top 6 forward and a top prospect, but I also guarantee that won't be what they get. I don't know of any team thats going to be willing to give up that much for a RFA thats had one good year and holding out.
  14. Seems a little early to be drinking and doing drugs........
  15. Yeah, I would be more afraid to wear Sabres colours cause your the one thats probably going to be outnumbered
  16. But he is a Cancer in the lockerroom and always throws teammates under the Bus!This guy knows hockey, he has watched just north of 75 games this season and knows that guys like Fasth and Khobolin are better then Miller after less then 10 career NHL games!
  17. Don't players usually have to go through physicals for the deals to be accepted? I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I doubt he could pass one right now
  18. have a nice life
  19. Find me one situation where you have actually heard the GM (or someone in an organisation) actually come out and say they are shopping a player and what they want. IIRC, the talk of a Roster player and top prospect comes from Dreger (or someone) talking to a GM thats spoken to the Avs and thats what he said they have asked for. Thats about as close as your going to get
  20. except that they are saying the Avs want a Roster Player and a top Prospect, so unless Armia, Pysyk or McNabb are roster players, they want someone that can step in and play now and someone for the future. Someone like Stafford is young and in a slump, but has shown in the past he can be a good player, he is one of those guys someone may want to take a look at thinking a change of scenery will make a difference, if not he or Leopold could also be someone you take now and then look to flip at the deadline
  21. you can compare the 2, Its not that Dipietro is just dogging it and not playing hard, the guy is just injury prone/brittle. He isn't underperforming because of pressure or because he doesn't care now that he has his payday
  22. Thats the issue with this, if it was almost anyone else, no one would have even looked back at the incident and said there was intent to injure. But if Cooke is involved, its the first thing everyone thinks because of his reputation years ago. Everyones looking for and expecting ti to be a dirty play with intent to injure
  23. No ones hating him, he isn't Ellis or Hecht, but people realize that in reality, no one outside of maybe the Flames and Blue jackets Organisations, while trade away something good for your garbage. If you trade for a guy like O'Rielly (and not including Ennis), either your moving Ennis down to the 3rd line and Girgs is most likely sent back to Juniors, or you putting Ennis bock on the wing and moving another forward. I don't think they are going to give up much to get him and make him the 3rd line C and moving Grig to the 4th line
  24. Maybe the Isles are interested cause they think they can claim him on waivers? I would be more afraid of what Toronto might be wiliing to move then the Isles or Panthers. While I don't think they have much prospect wise thats overly appealing that they would give up, they are pretty desperate for someone that can become a #1 C on that team. Out of those 4 teams, I would say the Sabres could have the best chance because they may be the most desperate to try and upgrade and may overpay, although then I remember that Regier would be making the deal and you can almost forget it now, it would cause him to have to part with a prospect or give up someone that might make it not look like he is a genius who robs teams in trades.....
  25. Good for you, now imagine if you actually understood the game. You have goalies on your list are guys who have played less career NHL games then Miller has played this season (Khobolin, Fasth), and a guy who was also lit up for 6 goals against the Sabres (Rask)
