  1. I had said this to my wife just before the end of the game, If I was him I would be requesting a trade ASAPJust like Hasek, He has been holding this team together through much of his tenure here while they rely on him to make up for a lack of talent elsewhere Get out, go somewhere that fans will respect your play and win some cups Phaneuf is such a P***Y, he will hit you if he knows you can retaliate, run away from anyone that close to his size or bigger, and will only fight or try and look tough against smaller sized players.Gerbe put up a better fight then Scott, who must have been ready because it looked like he was the one that tried to start it and was embarrassed. If it wasn't for his size (much like Myers), he wouldn't have a roster spot right now....
  2. Some of us weren't following the "in" crowd with blaming everything on Ruff and already knew the talent wasn't there and Regier should have been fired over a decade ago, but hey, the fanbase got what they wanted and Ruff was shown the door so now they need a new whipping boy/scapegoat to blame.......... Travel time??? What is it, maybe 3 hours total to get from Rochester to Toronto with a quick stop at the FNC?
  3. Not Buffalo, fans would run him out of town for something else............
  4. And thats not an issue? Unless the Father is his agent and doing what he was asked to do, I wouldn't say its a good thing to have his father trying to force a team to trade his son away. Well no, he is a RFA, RFAs are almost always guys coming off an entry level deal.Because he is a RFA, the Avs had to offer him a qualifying offer this last offseason by a certain date (which they did) to keep his rights. O'Reilly has the choice to sign the deal and play, or sit out and continue to try and negotiate a new deal with the Avs. He does not have a contract to play right now, but his rights are still with the Avs because they made the qualifying offer. A team could (because he is a restricted Free Agent) make him a contract offer, that if he signs, the Avs would have 7 days (IIRC) to match or accept draft pick compensation from the team that made the offer. Problem is that for a deal that he would agree to and that the Avs would probably pass on, the compensation is alot of high picks for him, and theres an "Unwritten rule" between most GMs that you don't steal away other teams RFAs with contract offers. The Avs can trade away his exclusive rights to a team (what they are supposedly looking to do), but the team getting him only gets the rights to negotiate a new deal with him, so the deal would most likely be conditional upon him signing a deal, or would include the Avs giving the new team a window of time to complete a deal for O'Reilly prior to the deal being finalized. Thats probably the best way to describe the situation thats going on.......
  5. its probably to allow all teams to look over the list and make a claim.
  6. At first I thought you were refering to guys shooting on net (or trying there best to)
  7. Sorry, but this organisation being run like a joke by a very rich fantasy sports player.Declaring that Buffalo is going to be "Hockey heaven" and winning a cup within 3 years when TP took over Handing Regier an extension before the season starts Letting your GM use the coach as a scape goat for a poor start while he does nothing to try and improve the talent for the coach Firing your coach after he returns home from holding a 90 minute practice to prepare your team for a game the next night Waiting til your team is almost completly out of contention to get into the playoffs to make a move to "save the season" What out of those things screams "Well run organisation"?
  8. Theres currently no one in the organisation capable of being an NHL GM even with Regier still employed by the Sabres
  9. well it is the Air Canada CentreYou had an out where you could have just said you were reffering to their F'ing arena ;) Anyone can put in a claim, but the player is not officially cleared or claimed until noon of the following day. So a player gets put on waivers yesterday, teams have 24hrs (til noon the next day) to make a claim or the player clears. But nothing is official until noon, thats why they have to wait, McCormick is not off the Sabres roster until the claim is official or he clears and can be sent down, therefore Proter is not officially on the Sabres Roster until the McCormick move is finalized
  10. I wonder who is going to be the Anaheim to our Capitals (a team on the fence about their coaching that is going to make a move now and pounce on Ruff like the Ducks did with Boudreau?)
  11. how would you know this? Your idea is that its better to get a guy who has very little coaching experience in a league that "any Joe Schmoe" can coach in, (yet are supposed to develop players for the NHL) instead of promoting a guy to fill in til the rest of the year who has had multi years experience in the NHL Coaching ranks?
  12. He has passion/yells alot and he would send Hecht packing cause he doesn't like the P***Y European playersSign him Up!!!!
  13. Exactly
  14. My issue with it is why make the interim move if you already have your guy, unless they care more about not disturbing the Rochester team right now. If Rolstons your guy, hire him now, if your waiting til the offseason to hire the new guy atleast see what else is available first.
  15. Its ok, we are sending them Cody McCormick in return, according to that thread, he is an amazing NHL talent that a team can't do without
  16. It all makes sense now, Darcy traded McCormick to the Amerks for Rolston!
  17. Basically its saying we are going to ride out the season with a lame duck since we can't forfit every game, then they hire their coach from the AHL when his season is over so we don't have to interupt the Amerks season with a new coach
  18. Maybe this is part of TPs plan to get a cup for Buffalo, Fire Lindy, let him go somewhere else and succeed in winning a cup, then he can bring it back to Buffalo for his one day with the cup?
  19. If he is picked, I would highly doubt he is their guy on an interim basis to the end of the year.
  20. I doubt they make this move if they have someone and don't have him signed yet, unless they want to make the move in teh offseason. If they were waiting on someone that could take time to sign, why not keep Ruff until the new guy is ready to sign? You don't fire someone, then give someone an interim tag for a game or 2
  21. When has a team every hired a guy outside the organisation on an "interim" basis????Thats the point of it being an interim basis, you are finding a guy within the coaching ranks to take over on a potential tryout until the seasons over and there are more options to find who you want. Right now theres no one available unless you want someone thats currently out of work, so you give someone the job to finish out the year
  22. Wheres the party? I thought this is what was going to make everyone jump for joy and party in the streets? The horrible destroyer of talent is gone and we are going to win the cup this year after squeaking in at 8th just like the Kings did last year, right?
  23. Maybe this moves grigs back on to the 3rd line and Hecht onto the 4th?We have yet to see what the coresponding move will be and why they are clearing a spot right now, just upset because they waived a 4th line player who occasionally gets into a fight
  24. This team is in serious trouble if we don't have a player in Rochester who has a chance to step into the lineup over Cody McCormick to make this team better. What has McCormick done to make people believe this is a guy that should be safe with a roster spot?
  25. WOw, again, are there people here seriously furious because the team is waiving a 4th liner who spends more time in the press box then actually on the ice? What has McCormick done well other then occasionally step on the ice to get his face punched in? Its not hard to find guys who can do it as well as Cody has, and they now have Scott on the roster already. This seriously just proves that fans will whine and complain at just about anything the Sabres do. As for being told prior to it leaking, I have yet to see the Sabres actually issue any kind of statement about him being released, just some NHL insiders, and now from Cody himself. Anyone think that just maybe the Regier put him on waivers and was calling him into his office to tell him when McKenzie saw on the waiver wire that the sabres put McCormick there? I really hate defending DR, but c'mon, are people here serious?
