I heard that two or three of the other fellas in the room squeezed themselves into Kyles equipment back when it was shipped out. Hopefully its addition by subtraction. Good luck Kyle go get yourself a cup. Lord knows it wasn’t happening here.

We clearly need players from outside of this system. 2 or 3 leaders in their prime or older. Guys who expect every year to be in the playoffs and literally drag their team mates along. Trade picks and prospects to get it done. Plus a new coaching staff. And for gawds sake stop this nonsense about blocking the kids. While you’re at it fire KA. Too much to ask for ? Then accept 3 more years waiting for the kids to develop and the consequences of that.

This team is not a playoff team obviously but KA has his work cut out for him if he thinks they are a playoff team next year. I only wish I had confidence he has it in him to fix this mess.

Not sure I’ve seen low event hockey to this degree this year yet. I’ll try to stay awake for the 3rd but who knows ? Its only 7pm out here on the best coast. Zzzzz

To your other point, about veterans, SY got a group of UFA’s right about the same age - 26-30. His free agent pick ups were not like EJ who is 36 in a few days. The Red wings did trade for an elder statesman (Jeff Petry) who’s father played for Tigers and was born and grew up in the area. But SY got Montreal to retain 50% so Jeff’s AAV is not equal to Johnson. Petry seems to be handling the day to day load better as well with far more ATOI, games played, points and is an overall plus player for the year.
Thanks for that quote. Steve knows how it works. KA not so much. Earning your spot has been how the kids have grown into their roles for a century in this league. KA prefers the ‘ don’t block the kids ‘ method. And we’ve seen the results.

Thought Dahlin played well. Punished a couple jets with the reverse hit. Made some good plays , made maybe one maybe two bad plays under pressure. The best in the game make some bad plays. These guys aren’t superman. They’re kids for the most part. On to the next one.

Listen to his first few words and the way he kind of ducked as he sheepishly approached the podium. He was expecting the shoe I threw across my room was going to hit him. That in a nutshell is KA. And in a nutshell is the team he’s built. I couldn’t bare to listen past the bit where he had a shitt eating grin and said ‘ believe me we didn’t expect this type of season either ‘. If he goes forward with waiting for this team to grow into champions we are in for a long friggin wait. Moron.
