  1. A week ago I was playing with hypothetical Sabres rosters for next season after the inevitable dumping of Darcy, Lindy, and the finesse slackers and I saw this Gongalsky guy and almost choked on my potato chips. Dude looks like a bad mo-fo.
  2. Still, you basically just stated quite clearly why Kassian was heads/tails better than Stafford. And he does have a nice right cross.
  3. As much as I hope Foligno succeeds where Kassian "failed", this is pure conjecture, too. Just like this very talk about kassian before he got his 35-game debut with Lindy's girls.
  4. Ahhh, I see now. Sorry to bother you. :bag:
  5. You guys gotta relax. Lucic fights. All guys who fight notice a right hook like the one Kassian threw against the Philly goon and remember it when they play the Sabres again, especially when they know that the Sabres fans are just dying to see Lucic's nose bleed. I'm not saying Lucic was afraid to play against kassian, so quit the attitude. I merely state that Lucic, as well as everyone else who makes it a habit to drop the gloves, knows that Kassian's got the right cross down and better watch it next time they drop the gloves with him, is all.
  6. Hmmm, no, I don't think I was joking. I'm pretty sure every NHLer who fights noticed that right hand in that Philly fight.
  7. You've posted plenty for me to know it's not worth bothering. Sorry, I haven't figured out how to ignore or we wouldn;t have to do this. You win, OK? Now go away.
  8. Taking what I said out of context. Typical.
  9. Yup, and he is gonna LOVE the Western Conference. You know Lucic just breathed a sigh of relief, too.
  10. What are you even addressing with this post?
  11. The play where he had the puck, coming in with two Sabres against 1 D-man, and he completely froze, did nothing with the puck and ended up behind the net with it. You sound like someone who sees exactly what I saw there. Some others here will tell you that they saw it too, but what they saw was a guy who wasn't ready for the NHL. Or something like that.
  12. I agree with you, I was just taking my usual roundabout way of showing it, sorry. :)
  13. Hey, preachin to the choir, there. I mean, yeah, he had an amazing first few weeks on the top line and then he drank some bad Kool Aid and his game left him and since then he's been another ghost in Blue and Gold.
  14. Oh if Adam's already back in ROC leave him there, I haven't been paying attention. Ellis obviously goes there then. And I thought McCormick was still hurt, too. Like I said, I've been kinda MIA with the cats, sorry, maybe I should just not post right now LOL
  15. Vanek - Ennis - Pominville Leino - Hodgson - Stafford Gerbe - Roy - Kaleta Adam - Szczechura - Boyes
  16. So, you're saying Lindy took him aside and told him not to put himself out of position by finishing checks like he has with everybody else in his 15 years here? Please. How do we know that Kassian didn't arrive at FNC and sniff the nice calming gas they pump thru the place and decide he would take his own game out of his game ;)
  17. Beat me to it. Ten bucks, too soft. I'd laugh.
  18. OK, so after ample time (one or two shifts, at LEAST :P ) on the 4th line, we can probably expect Hodgson on the 2nd? Maybe they plan on bringing Szczechura up for the 3rd?
  19. So seriously, which of the Sabres' lines does this kid center? He wasn't getting the playing time or opportunities, they say, in Vancouver because he was stuck on the checking line, so does Darcy think Lindy's going to give him a chance at the #2 center role???? The ONLY way that is true is if Lindy thinks that his new "son", derek Roy, is his next checking line center, because no way it's going to be little Ennis. Roy, aside from his top-line salary, would make the smartest choice to center that shut-down 3rd line, IMO. Anyone else disagree besides korab? :P
  20. No, he certainly didn't "develop" into that here. And he had a whole lot of time? But whatever. I'm happy for everyone's who's happy. My 15-year-old cat stopped eating yesterday, so I don't really care about any of this right now.
  21. And he's going to a team where he can PLAY that role and not have to become this all-around, well-rounded, two-way, system guy with different linemates every ###### shift. Kassian's happy, believe me. And so will be the Canuck fans.
  22. I know, right?? Who's calling Kassian a bum?
  23. Exactly what I was thinking. They must have been weighing Kassian against Foligno and Foligno won. NHL.com says the Canuck was in the running for the Calder. Can't be all bad. I wanteed size and grit, too, but this GM/coach combo likes the finesse game we all knew that. If we suck in two years because everybody is in a cast, maybe we'll get a new GM/coach combo and maybe the next set will like size and grit. Or maybe this will work. Who knows? I sure will miss Kassian, though.
