  1. The Paladino presentation is a much more professional and detailed proposal. I like how they went more in-depth on the hotel plans and the overall impact it would have on the immediate area. However I think Pegula's plan is much more applicable to the theme of the area. Seems to be more multi-purpose. I would think there is plenty of office space downtown where Paladino's proposal would have any impact. Although the apartments would be pretty cool.

  2. See the link in the first post.

    Basically more offices, no rinks.

Just wondering if there was more details. But that sums it up enough for me.

The artist's rendition makes it look like it would be between Perry and South Park west of Michigan Ave. But it says the parking lot on the corner of Scott and Main. That lot doesn't look real big.

  3. If im not mistaken Cheechoo won the Rocket Richard and the next season tore up his knee pretty horribly, with his contract he had to be buried in Binghamton after being traded and then by the time that contract was up he was older and had terrible knee problems, he surely benefitted from the thornton trade but I do think he could have continued to be a great goal scorer if not for the injuries and bad luck.

I highly doubt an offer sheet and if it is anywhere over 3.1 million we get a first and a third round pick. SO i take the picks in that case. Still it isnt going to happen

Didn't realize he had a knee problem. He's not doing too bad in Peoria, 21-29-50 in 63 games. A shame a career he had going would get to that point. He won the Richard trophy in 2005 with 56 goals.

  4. This thread has drifted a bit from strictly a discussion re: Kassian-Hodgson, but I saw this Hockey News article this afternoon and thought the notion that Hodgson trains under Gary Roberts in the offseason probably should dispel any real concerns about a bad attitude:

"Not surprisingly, the newest Sabres weapon is also a client of ‘Scary’ Gary and whatever subterfuge has been out there in the past about Hodgson’s attitude can pretty much be tossed out the window based on the company he keeps in the summer. Simply put, Roberts does not mess around. What the former NHLer preaches is no less than a lifestyle decision, where players commit themselves to both rigorous workouts and nutrition rites involving organic food and the right kinds of it."

Wow, I forgot about Cheechoo. I had to look up his stats to see what the hell happened to him. Man, his stats look so Boyesesque.

  5. People who complain about winter. Shut up already. I F#####G love winter. I love every snowflake. I love the short days. I love the slow driving to work. I even like shoveling. The more snow the better. I'm even going to Alaska in two weeks for a hockey tournament. That's right, Alaska in the Wintertime. Summer sucks (not complaining, just stating a fact). If you don't like winter, then move south and enjoy the riveting conversations you will have about granite counter-tops and what kind of wax you use when you get your car detailed.

Feel free to send some down here. 88° today and it gets really old.

  6. Damn, so Biron has now beaten us while playing for three different teams. Not bad considering none of them were for division teams.

On a side note, had Vanek shot the puck and missed you'd all be crying because he didn't pass it....... you know it.

I think Vanek has played really well all year. I feel bad for him he doesn't have the numbers to show for it. He's certainly putting in much more effort than he did most of last year. If he doesn't get too down on himself and keeps playing the way he is, the goals will come.

  7. The HD feed on DirecTV was fine - except that the audio was out of sync with the video.

The game center feed last time I watched was stretched 4x3 and looked terrible.

Not that it matters because it seems nobody on here has NHL GameCenter, but here is the response I got from the today about the Sabres broadcasts.

Unfortunately, MSG-B still will not provide us with an HD feed for Sabres broadcasts. The main MSG channel (which typically shows Rangers games) is in HD now, but the alternate MSg channels (MSG+, MSG2, MSG-B) are still sending us SD feeds for their telecasts. Our network operations center has been in touch with the channels regarding this issue, but no resolution or estimated time has been given.

  8. My HD feed (time warner cny 1050) sucks. It's high def, but the clarity is bad. Looks whitewashed. Doesn't look stretched, though. Definitely shot in 16x9.

The feed I'm watching is definitely shot 16x9. Just seems like it's off a little. Would think it had something to do with connecting my comp to the big screen, but all the other games are crystal clear and correct proportion. Who knows. The MSG feed is better than last year on GC. And this year we can choose between feeds.

  9. Got a ??? for everybody in BFLO watching the game. Is the quality of the MSG broadcast really that poor, or is it the internet feed? I've got NHL GameCenter so I can see both teams broadcasts and MSG is by far the worst of all games I have seen so far this year. Almost like it's not really HD, just stretched to fit. Hell, even the ratio is off, seems like everybody is short and fat, lol.
