  1. Now that's funny. But really folks do you think all these picks are just about Darcy? You don't think Kevin Devine and the other scouts don't have a say in all this. It's just not Darcy

    It's always Darcy's fault.

Not an ounce of sunlight here all weekend, thanks Darcy!

  2. I wish I could listen to Baker with just about anyone else. I simply can't tolerate Peters and Sylvester though.

I've read that Florida thinks Huberdeau is ultimately better suited to wing in the NHL. Would help explain the Barkov pick if that's the case.

Good point. Depends on what happens with Weiss too.

  3. I know I'm in the minority here but I think it's too soon to give up on Myers.

Me too, I think Lindy put way too much on his shoulders and tried to get him to play roles he's not as good at. Granted, him coming into the season out of shape was unacceptable. But, I'd like to see him have a half season under Rolston first. Unless Myers + #8 nets a top 3 pick.... I don't like it.

  4. Breaking Bad and GoT are my two favorite TV shows. They're so different, and I think I have to wait until the final 8 episodes of BB are out before I can claim one is better than the other.

Also Bonnaroo was absolutely amazing this year.

I cried when Paul McCartney played Blackbird and then cried hard when he followed it up with Here Today. He also played Something, my favorite Beatles song even though it's a Geroge.

Breathtaking performance by a 71 year old. Truly amazing.

Last eight episodes start Aug.8 I believe.

  5. He was an RFA so he wouldn't have walked very far.

I read through that thread and I was against paying Drew a ton of money and voiced I hoped his new work ethic was going to be the norm but it wasn't. Drew regressed back to the mean. Hell I was even optimistic about that team being good. Now I am older and wiser. Drew's contract was a bust thus far. That was the original point and if he made 3mil instead of 4 he would be less of a headache.

Can you name any player who put up a .5 GPG season and wound up with a lesser contract? Would it have been better if Stafford made $3 mil/yr? Is Darcy's worthiness really hanging on $1mil?

Actually, this thread isn't about Darcy. It's just another 'Darcy sucks' hijack just like every other thread turns out to be which is really becoming monotonous. That really annoys me so I'm going to excuse myself before I become any more hypocritical.

Let's just say, we're all 'professionals' when there is nothing on the line and we judge our opinions and decisions two years after the fact when it becomes so much easier to look correct. Just once I'd like to see somebody bring up their suggestions from years past that were way off base.

  6. I would *hope* the professional GM of an NHL team, making millions of dollars, might be able to make wiser, more insightful decisions than we fans spending a few minutes per day chatting about hockey on a message board.

EDIT - I have never, to the best of my knowledge, supported Stafford.

The only problem is fans on a forum use hindsight to convince everybody how much smarter they are than the million doallar GM. Unfortunately, life doesn't work that way, nobody can make decisions based on hindsight. It's certainly easier for a fan to say they were right 2 years down the road. In reality, if team decisions were based on what forum fans thought would be best at the time....... let's just say it wouldn't be pretty. Instead of saying 'I was right I told you so', let's go back to those specific times and see what this board was actually saying. Hindsight sure is convenient to those who think they know it all.

BTW, only the first part of that response was directed at you. The rest was just a general statement. ;)

  7. Lol what's funny is I'd seen that comic a long time ago, and I wasn't sure if you were being facetious about the formula. Apparently not!

Haha, take that study for what it's worth. I've noticed there is some truth to it

Chz broke up with her boyfriend, they must have been too close in age.

  8. Because (in my case) he's not afraid of asking; he's afraid of getting married! Boys are silly.

So confused by how you worded that, lol.

1/2 his age, plus 7 years. If he's 32, 16 is half of that, add 7. In this case the best age is male-32 female-23.

I've heard these studies referenced many times over the years. I'll have to look up where they came from.
