My emotional reaction. Shock, a rush of excitement, but not disappointment.
I think its a relief for all concerned. Hard to strip Jack of the C. Needed to be done. Ullmark won me over as team MVP.
Cheers everyone for a new beginning.

I like Eichel, but if this trade were real, I'd take it with no looking back. Thats a huge gain for Buffalo in exchange for #9. Turcotte alone is going to be a stud!
Its sad, but impossible not to see coming. Should have added Hall to the trade for some icing on the cake.

I highly doubt Kevyn Adams was taken in by Ralph. I think Pegula was taken in by Ralph, and Ralph told Kevyn "do not fire Ralph" and so Adams did not.
Eventually it got beyond the breaking point, and Adams was able to fire Ralph.
I'll believe that version of events until we hear otherwise, years from now.
Russ Brandon fooled R W and the Pegulus, helped ruin the Bills and Sabres. Not bad for a glorified market manager eh.
Well, I suppose it depends on who you ask.
Good salesman, bad at everything else...

Do a GM thing and acquire a better player. I’m guessing.
Or how about a player thats just willing to put in the hard work it takes to succeed? (Call them up from the minors)
Whats the old saying, hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard

I wanna believe in Bryson, baby. Love the way that guy plays. Looks just like those late pick defensemen that come out of nowhere for other teams, and we always wonder "why can't we ever get a prospect that does that"
Awww man, Bryson looked so calm, cool and collected. The kind of play other players can feed off of IMO.

I don’t really know what that means. 🤷🏻
Ever hear the expression an honest days work for an honest days pay?

I kind of agree, but once he gets it, giving it to someone else is a thorny issue. If he relinquishes it he can be labeled a quitter. If it's taken from him he's a martyr. I'm not sure it's really that important who wears the C but it can be a PR problem if he gives it up or loses it.
So you deal with the PR problem and Jacks hurt feelings for the betterment of the team IMO. 5 years of sub par team hockey dictates a change in leadership. Sometimes highly talented players doesn't equate to good leadership for the team.

This is exactly why I wanted RFK out of there. We need several games to figure what we have, who works with whom, and who needs to go. For instance, Rieder isn't the biggest game changer but he certainly plays the game right: Fast, moves his feet, plays with purpose. We need others like this.
I also like to think a silver lining to Jack's injury is that the team isn't taking cues from him, waiting for him to save things. They're learning how to win as a bunch of near-nobodies. Add a point-per-game player to that next year and we might actually be good.
Is there a rule that says your most talented player needs to wear a C? I think not. Perhaps thats part of the problem.

I think its next to impossible to get an accurate assessment of the players because of the way the season has gone IMO. Any of them. (not named Hall or Hutton) It seems fairly obvious now coaching may have been one of the biggest problems. Adequate goaltending backing up Ullmark another big problem. All the make up games getting crammed together another big problem. Body language can be misleading when everything is going wrong in front of you. (and behind you) As captain adding insult to injury ( Jack )
Myself personally, I'm not a fan of blowing the team up. We have good players IMO. I am a fan of playing the rest of the season out and judging the players and coaches by how well they finish the season. I hope Terry Pegula and Sabres management feels the same. McDermott was a complete unknown when it came to HC in the NFL. Who's to say the same thing can't happen with the Sabres.
On paper the Sabres are a better hockey team . I think they finally showed it tonight.

It really is starting to look that way, isn't it?
To be clear, the Flyers were horrible, but we played with some passion, and we played with some threat. That can't be coincidence.
If I only had this one game to go by I would swear up and down the Sabres are a better hockey team.

Bold statements
1. RK is the worst coach in Sabres history
2. Linus is this team’s MVP and should be re-signed.
3. We are going to look back at this game as the first game in the re-emergence of this franchise. Also the night before we fired RK was the franchise rock bottom.
4. Bryson is the future Captain of this team.
Bryson was awesome.
I agree with you on Ullmark. MVP, and whatever else we do please hold onto our starting goaltender.

I saw very little of the game...but I’m glad they won, the streak is over, and the win came against the Flyers. Screw them and their fan base.
PS Hey Florida did you get a good luck at Montour? He’d look good in a Panthers jersey, and I hear he loves South Florida.
You missed a very convincing win tonight. Start to finish. Hard to find anything negative. Hall perhaps.
Ullmark was awesome, spllt second reactions in the heat of battle. Using his head. Gets poked in the eye by our own players hockey stick. Keeps right on rolling. Linus Ullmark would not be denied. Not on this night.
Best 60 minutes of 5 on 5 hockey all season.

Awwwwww, you got me, lol
Hey, now that I've grown accustomed to the idea...
(On a side note while a trade hasn't happened yet it probably will IMO.)
