It was his team for a good while. If he wanted to play this style he could of attempted to. I just think he fits a different scheme.
Like SDS mentioned, Jack is fast. You guys might be right , but under Granato Jack might be a different player IMO. I just wish we would let Jack have his surgery the way he wants. So maybe by some miracle he stills wants to play for the Sabres again one day. Hes injured goods right now and not worth much in a trade. Stalemate accomplishes nothing.
Good win, hate to have the whole season over shadowed by this ...

I mean Jack is really fast, but he doesn’t play like that.
I wouldn't mind finding out.

Sabres looked fast out there tonight. Nice job Granato.
Sweet way to start the season.

Only seen highlights and thought well thats strange. Looked like a spirited hockey game. No game thread, lol

At this point, I’d take straight up for a decent goalie. (Sort of kidding)
I think we should trade Jack to Boston for Ullmark ( sort of kidding )

The word is out on Jack. It’s known. Any team that wants him feels his immense talent is worth the locker room risk.
A team like Vegas could come up with a better offer. A few others can too.
Now you swear and kick and beg us
That you're not a gamblin' man
Then you find you're back in Vegas
With a handle in your hand
Your black cards can make you money
So you hide them when you're able
In the land of milk and honey
You must put them on the table
You go back, Jack, do it again
Wheel turnin' 'round and 'round
You go back, Jack, do it again- 1

I will savor these last games...unless they suck. Our playoff is getting out of the cellar.
As will I

So do those wins count for double or something? Again, they are playing better than they were, but that's not hard to do given how bad they were.
This season, from an entertainment standpoint, yes. ; )
I understand where your coming from.
Homers take what we can get sometimes.

It’s the NHL. Goals go in off players butts. I like what the Sabres are doing but let’s not pretend they are beating the 1927 Yankees. Even the best teams lose 25-30 games a season.
Its not the way I see them winning hockey games as of late ( off of players butts ) which generally equals out IMO.

3-8 in the last month v. Teams in playoff position.
Haven't beaten the Caps away and Pens at home in regulation in 5 and 9 years seems like I remenber reading recently.
After an 18 game losing streak and change at HC ( another unknown )

He got saved by the Bruins being off and his defense. Not saying he won't be good eventually, but he was out of position a lot Friday. First night jitters, overplaying the puck.
Maybe it would be good to play him again.

Miller in for Borgen
UPL probably gets the net on Tuesday
I think its crazy the Buffalo Sabres are beating playoff bound hockey teams with the unkown and untested at the NHL level likes of Tokarski and UPL.
Amazing...

kinda need to score to have a chance at winning
Tokarski's been fun to watch IMO. Ullmark's the man, but hey

I really like Don Granato as Buffalo Sabres HC going into the future. The positive energy and intensity by which he coaches is written all over his face. I think the players respond very well to the plan that Don Granato gives them and the results have been easy to see. Different sport albeit. Granato comes off as a process kind of guy. Is Granato the McDermott of hockey the Pegulas have been searching for you might ask.
Time will tell...
( Voted emerging, needing some tweaks)

Lame penalty call on Bjork,
need to stay out of penalty box If the Sabres want to beat the Pens tomorrow

Tokarski played really well

The Sabres have a long history of trading their captains.
Being a talented hockey player doesn't always equate to a good leader of men IMO. If the captain of a team doesn't lead his men well the C becomes meaningless IMO.

We as fans have to stop the idea that "okay this guy is playing good so that means we can dump this other guy"... no it means we can start to build depth and have multiple good lines. Trading Eichel is the same conversation as trading ROR and that regardless of return was always a bad idea.
The C on Jack makes it more complicated then just dumping the other guy IMO.

I wonder how much winning to end this year impacts Jack's mindset going into next season.
You also have to wonder how it may change the mindset of ownership, GM, and HC.
The way some of these guys are stepping up and playing it could come to a point where team chemistry dictates a fresh start for Jack elsewhere IMO.
