I know. Only about 390 more days!
I don't know about that I'm glad that hockey is back but hopefully this will be the last year of the tank. It's painful to go through but I believe this is necessary for Buffalo to be a cup contender. Hoping we finish at the bottom and the Isles get the injury bug this year. This also ran $hit was getting old.

Wow looks like another loss 2-1 in overtime. Not good and what bothers me is a player like Armia and Catenucci not getting on the score sheet in either game. Looks like even the young Buffalo prospects are having trouble scoring. Kinda disturbing with all these picks.

6-1 Final
Buffalo outshot Carolina by about 15 but gave up 6 goals with 2 or 3 being on the PP.
Reinhart got nailed from behind but returned. Lemieux defended him afterwards.
Wow for being loaded with high picks, not the way u want to start off a tournament.

Hopefully they will get their $hit together real quick. I have high hopes for our prospects. Now if the big club can complete the tank for what I hope will be the last time ever. Either McDavid or Eichel is fine with me.

The reason to keep Reinhart down in junior is to get stronger and of course for the tank.

Wow loaded with prospects and losing. Must be no chemistry yet. I know I'm probably in the minority on this but I want Buffalo to do with Reinhart exactly what Tampa did with Droiun. Let's complete the tank! At least get one of the big 2.

I can see Murray moving Stafford, Stewart and Meszaros at the deadline. At least one or two of them.

We have a glut of three and four star prospects in the system already and five more of them will be added in June.
The Sabres must have a general plan about adding three or four rookies to the team each year.
I wonder what the vision is? I would imagine it is something like this, without factoring in the possibility of a McEichel
2014: Pysyk, Risto, Larsson? Reinhart?
2015: Girgorenko, McCabe, Armia, Zadorov?
2016: Compher, Carrier? Ullmark? Fasching? Baptiste?
Things are going to get crowded and deals will need to be made.
Oh that list would look so much better with McDavid or Eichel on it!

Not that I'm a fan of his but do u see Weber possibly not making this squad. Besides his physical play their really isn't much he brings. What our your thoughts?

I can't wait for tomorrow I'm more of a Sabres fan than Bills. I'm looking forward to seeing the future play in this tournament.

If I'm Buffalo I use 2 of the first rounders on offense and 1 on a defenseman in the first round in the 2015 draft. I still think at the deadline Stafford and/or Stewart get moved. It's going to be interesting how this season plays out.

Now the dream scenario would be landing McDavid next year in the NHL draft and the Bills expanding the scouting department and get better at picking solid talent but most importantly keeping the players they draft in Buffalo that turn out to be solid players stay in Buffalo.

I just scanned through a list of NFL owners and I won't pretend to know much about many of the guys, but I do know that Paul Allen is a multiple owner.
But do these owners own 2 teams in the same city. And I'm not talking one major one minor. I'm talking two professional teams.

I can't wait for Friday I have been waiting for the Sabres to start back up. This should be one interesting season. I still want them to finish at the bottom this one last time. And that will and hopefully be the last time they ever finish last. I just like the fact they could get McDavid or Eichel. At least finishing last getting you Eichel. Win Win in my mind. Then with the Islanders pick going to be routing against the Islanders all season even though I think they are going to be much better than people think. The only question I have with them is defense. It's going to be interesting.

If I may: I think that the subject of the Pegulas owning both the Bills and Sabres deserves its own thread.
They could put together some solid ticket plans for both clubs. I can't even think of one owner owning two major league teams in one city.

Wow I'm glad the Pegula's will be owning the Bills. I believe they have the Sabres in the right and capable hands with Murray and company. And believe they will get their with the Bills as well. I still hope they expand the scouting staff for the Bills and do whatever they can to make this team a legimate contender year in and year out instead of being the laughing stock or farm team for the rest of the NFL. The first thing they have to do is stop letting the players they draft walk after they become solid players. That revolving door is part of the reason why they haven't done $hit in all these years plus the QB situation. As an owner I never understood why wouldn't you want to put a solid team together and then do your best to keep the cupboards filled with solid talent like the Red Wings and the Patriots do. Yes you have to sometimes tear it down and start all over but it's a small scarifice for a few seasons in order to be good for a long time. Now McDavid or Eichel would be the dream scenario!

Like I said before in a previous post hire a garbage head coach get garbage results. Prepare for another losing season folks. What makes you think this thing is going to turn around now after they were brutal in the preseason. EJ is a bust in my opinion because they reached on him. Orton will be the starter quicker than you think.

LGR is right. it's about the individual kid (even if he is wrong for prejudging whether Sam is ready)
It's simple: Samson should play in bUffalo if he is one of its best nine forwards.
He'll get training camp to show that, and a further nine games if the answer isn't clear.
Girgorenko is the wrong comparison. He wasn't ready and that is why he failed.
I would much rather them send Reinhart back to junior and work on getting stronger. You all see what Stevie Y did with his top pick last year Drioun. Sent him back to junior and that kid was damn good but I think he is going to be one of the top rookies to watch this year. Has the speed, moves and passing ability. No need to rush Reinhart. Next year I'm all for this kid earning a spot. We came this far on the tank now why abandon it in what appears to be a deep draft.

It's better to come in last this year because I just don't see this team being a contender. In a deep draft like this one you could really position yourself to be a great team for years to come if you land one of the big two and then hit on your other two firsts. I would much rather have 1 top five rather than 6-12 because this team wants to play better. Goal is the Cup isn't it. I'm worried they beefed up the defense in front of whoever is the number 1 goalie. I think Enroth is going to be that guy and will be a lot better than people thought he would be. He has been waiting for this chance for how many years now?

Fair enough. Which is why I made the point about next year being the year they should've been prepared to mortgage future picks for the right move up. I don't think it's worth it to move up to take a WR. Reserve that move for the QB.

Problem with Buffalo is they draft players and if they become something special then they don't want to pay them. Farm team for the rest of the league. Then the scouts they have must be mediocre because they reach for so many players that don't make it. Whoever buys the bills needs to clean management out and start fresh. Hire garbage get garbage results and that's what the bills have in the last 20 years!

Sabres yes. Bills...not so much. The amount of change that will be taking place cannot happen over night. The Bills have a long way to go, and what really bites is no first round pick in 2015. Cleveland fans are as excited as a Sabres fan. Both having a shot at a possible high 1st round draft pick.
I agree I think Cleveland is going to have a top 5-10 pick maybe better if they look like the do in preseason. Here I'm just gonna say it I think EJ's a bust and instead of addressing a solid backup in the draft they failed to do so. Until new ownership comes in it's just another year the Bills don't make the playoffs. I'm hoping for Pegula to buy the team to start cleaning house and to hire way more scouts because they seem to miss more than they hit on these picks. To me the Bills are the farm team for the rest of the league. Their a joke!

I live in Las Vegas being a Buffalo transplant. I think it's not gonna work here. Yeah they sell out during the preseason games due to tons of Kings fans making the drive. U have heard Movie producer Jerry Brukheimer being a driving force but I think it's plain stupid to expand here. We can only draw 4-7 thousand people at minor league hockey what makes them think we are gonna draw 15-16 thousand. It will be another Coyotes squad. Dumb absolutely dumb!!!!

Now that's funny but it's alittle disturbing and puzzling thinking that this squad was loaded and them lose every game. I guess it's gonna be an eye opener for a lot of these youngsters starting their seasons. Now I really hate to say this but hopefully the real Buffalo Sabres can be competitive but finish at the bottom one last season. I don't think I could go all these years watching this.
