I don't see what the big deal is with McNabb. He had numerous chances with the old coaching staff and the new and he never really stood out over aging vets Sulzer and Tallinder. To me no big deal. I have a feeling Murray really wanted Hudson Fasching and didn't care about the 2 2nds and McNabb

Agreed, I trust TM has done his homework on Fasching and Deslauriers.
I guessing Fasching is the main piece Murray wanted and didn't care if he had to give up 2 2nds to get him. I'm all for a GM going after a player he really wants.

So Brayden McNabb gone and 2 2nd rounders gone for two prospects. I wonder who the other prospect is? Guessing they weren't too high on McNabb for the future!

We have cap space to sign almost anyone we want. Without Miller and assuming Leino is bought out, we'll struggle just to hit the cap floor next year. Throw some $$$ at MattyMo. He has earned it.
I agree, I think Murray would really want to load up a solid prospects and more picks for Stewart, Moulson, Halak, Ehrhoff, and Tallinder. I just don't know if many teams are biting. I really believe Murray would like more 1st and 2nd rounders in the next two drafts to eye the players he wants to rebuild this team. More picks mean you can trade up for the player or players you want.

It's true, we really could sit on a lot of these guys, try and resign Moulson, but I think we have an expectation with the way the year has played out for our team, if this is a total rebuild then, I would like to move Ehrhoff, and flip halak for sure, tallinder too..... I'd try and unload Leino for a 5th, although that's not happening
I don't think Anybody will want Leino!

Outside of Halak and Tallinder Buffalo can pretty much sit on everyone else if it wants. With the cap space we have we can sign the other UFA.
I don't mind giving up Moulson and Stewart if the deal coming back is better. Halak and Tallinder can both go in my opinion.

Mouslon as a long term Sabre would be sweet. He's a solid player, not flaky like Vanek.

Only if one of Hall/RNH/Eberle come back. Otherwise, no chance I would be happy with the deal. Or a 2015 first, but that isn't happening.

I think things will happen fast and furious from here on out. These guys need to submit the trades to league offices in a timely manner to be valid to beat the deadline...
I hope so because this has been quite boring as of now. I just don't know if there is any teams that actually want Halak!
Trades will appear up to and then in the 20minutes or so after 3pm deadline.
Tyler Myers to EDM has been discussed per twitter
Was told the Oilers showed interest in Tyler Myers, not clear if talks continuing. Sabres GM said today he's said no to deals for non-UFAs
I wouldn't move Myers unless the players coming back is mind blowing. Myers 3 point game the other night looked like his rookie year. He has improved greatly this year from the last 2 seasons.

Murray said if he doesn't trade Moulson today he would start discussing contract with him.
I wouldn't be against keeping Moulson if the teams wanting him aren't offering enough for him. 20-30 goal consistent goal scorers aren't easy to come by.

So is it a disaster if we finally trade Stafford but don't make deals on some of the other obvious guys?
This lack of activity has me worried. I think at a minimum you have to trade Moulson, Tallinder and Halak before todays deadline. They are all walking at the end of the year and need to be cashed in.
I would like to keep Moulson if a deal isn't right but then who knows if he re-signs.

Lets take Jason Zucker and a 1st in 2015 from Minny for Stafford. Reason for Jason Zucker is he is a local here in Las Vegas and the kid will be getting alot better. He's a shooter first and has speed to burn.

I disagree, best case scenario for buffalo regarding moulson is isles trade vanek soon and for a good package. There is a school of thought that teams might be using buffalo to lower the price for vanek. Pretty scary it's snow potentially setting the market for moulson.
Vanek is getting paid how much a season. Alot of teams don't have that kind of cap space without moving something. Plus do you want the unknown of him probably signing in Minny at the start of free agency.

I don't think this is a bad thing, you here all the time about guys being there for the morning skate and then getting taken off once a deal is done. I wouldn't look too much into this, if he is going to be moved I would bet its not before the 3pm deadline
I agree if a deal comes along he will be pulled off the ice. Not a big deal. I'm kinda hoping that Vanek doesn't have alot of market because of his contract and knowing most teams that he probably won't re-sign with whoever he gets traded to. Let the Islanders get screwed twice.

Yes the Rangers gave up alot for St. Louis but how will this effect Stamkos because St. Louis fed Stamkos how many one-time passes.

Now the Isles should offer Vanek for Callahan. Can you imagine the Ranger fans if Callahan showed up in an Isles uniform.

That St.-Louis-for-Callahan deal is a shocker. It will hurt both teams more than it helps.
AND...Callahan will likely be a UFA this summer. Hello Sabres.
Callahan isn't worth the type of money he was asking! Martin St. Louis even though he is up there in age is still a pretty darn good player. Rangers gave up way too much to get him but I see Stevie Y doing a player that paid his dues a team he wanted to go to.

I hope Vanek gets traded before noon. Really need some baseline for value.

That would be an obscene top line...but the Ducks' achilles heel would remain depth scoring.
Ducks need additional scoring on the other lines.

Someone reporting Ducks might be making move for Kesler! They have alot of players they could give up and still be good next year. I could see them giving up Smith-Pelly, Vitanen, and Etem plus pick to get him.
