Common mistake - the refs were going to wind the clock after the personal foul as soon as the ball was spotted - he called the time out to stop the clock, or it was going to run - We will never know exactly what he was throwing the hissy fit about, but I suspect it was over the personal foul that gave the Bills a first down and allowed them to run the clock out. But for that first down off the personal foul, the Patriots would have gotten the ball back. I still don't know what to say about these Bills. I am still holding my breath for the moment. Experience tells me they will $hit the bed against Cincy next week. Aren't we due for a let down?

Will be in Buffalo for the weekend. My older son's team is playing some Buffalo squads, and we will be attending the Sabres game Saturday night. That's not necessarily true. He may have been assigned there - then again, he may have a found a low key neighborhood with no problems and less traffic that he enjoys hanging out in. Maybe he likes harassing the lunch ladies. Or maybe he is just trying to scare the natives away so he can catch a few z's.

There is no right answer on what to do in a crash. You are absolutely correct that practicing panic stops is something every biker should do, but we can't control how close we are to the car when they pull out in front of us. A panic stop is the preferred choice, but if you hit the car with speed you are going up and over. Maybe you ram head first in to the A, B or C pillar, maybe you catch your chest and abdomen on the roof of the car and tear your thoracic aorta. Maybe you clear the car and then get run over by another car. Maybe he chose to lay it down, or maybe he just reacted without thinking at all, or maybe he tried a panic stop, locked up both wheels, and ended up going down because of it or because he let off the brakes trying to correct for the lock up. Who knows what the real reason was, but practicing panic stops ahead of time would have been of assistance no matter what the situation. Its easy to second guess after the fact. The point that keeps getting lost is that another biker almost died because a stupid cager pulled out in front of him.
