I think we should just resign him. If he is not on the team next year we will be back in the lottery again. We can not afford to lose our best players. I doubt he will sign for less than 50 million. We just have to figure out how to dump some bad contracts.
-
I think EK gets traded close to the deadline for a huge return of prospects and picks from a contender. We then resign him in free agency for 7 years 50 million. We also will try to pad Okposa's stats and move him to free up cap room. Unfortunately he is so bad with a ridiculous contract, we may not be able to move him.

Housley needs a new hairstyle

Kane continues to get chances

This is an ugly power play

You can't just keep losing with a first time head coach and a first time GM and not have major consequences, I think 4 more consecutive losses and they bring in a consultant like Lindy.
-
Bailey, Baptiste, Fasching and Nylander can't get here soon enough.
I don't have any need for Josefson, Girgensons, Moulson, Griffith or Pouliot anywhere in that lineup.
Unfortunately Baley, Baptiste,Fasching and Nylander have shown nothing to make me think they will be NHL players. Of those only Nylander has hope and he is at least a year away.
-
And this is what we're all scared to think:
What if Matthews is better than Eichel, Marner is better than Reino, Nylander is better than Nylander, Risto is OK but not a #1 and ROR and KO are just overpaid losers?
Excellent question.
Babcock is clearly better than Housley and Morgan Reily is better than Risto. Sam Reinhart is a poor mans Tim Connolly.( Tim was 5th pick overall) We are not in the same league as the leafs. Our 2nd best player is a free agent after this year and may not resign. It is not a pretty picture. We are a very wimpy team except for Kane and Nolan. Kane will likely be gone and Nolan shouldn't be on the ice

What are the cap implications if KO career is over?

I'd like to join but it's tricky coming from out of town -- will definitely try.
For the 1st game, can I suggest November rather than December, as better weather makes for easier travel for the out-of-towners?
Also, a Sat. night game on a weekend with a home Bills game on the following Sunday would create the possibility of a lengthy binge including a tailgate. (e.g. Sat. Oct. 28, Sat. Nov. 11 or Sat. Dec. 2).
Just sayin'.
I'm in total agreement with nfreeman on this and that rarely happens. I think a sat pm sabres game followed by a sunday bills game with an extensive tailgate starting early would really allow for some serious bonding. I would also be coming from out of town so the earlier the better.

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!! if you think McNabb is a talented Dman you arent paying attention!
Andrew Peters just repeated exactly what I just posted, I trust his opinion more than yours
-
Trading away Pysyck and Brayden Mcnabb were bad moves that cost us young talent of defense
-
I think they're bring back Ted Nolan
-
I think Whaley gets fired after the draft
-
Byelsma didn't surprise me but Murray is shocking. Giving up a first for Lehner was a mistake and giving big contracts to Moulson and Ennis was a mistake.
-
I guess Larsson has moved ahead of Girgensons at the Center position on the depth chart. Not a huge surprise
-
Most pundits thought Matthews was better than Eichel. He certainly looked in a different league last night. Leafs will be much improved this year as will the Oilers
-
He's certainly in the running for greatest UFA of my lifetime. Chara may be the only other one who is in the same class, though I could easily be forgetting some.
How about Bryce Paup?

I think Anaheim is likely to trade either Lindholm or Fowler, and I think GMTM will be in the mix. Fowler is under contract for 2 more years at $4MM per year; Lindholm will likely get a contract closer to $5.5MM per year.
If the Sabres get Fowler, $4MM is a reasonable number that won't impair the Sabres' cap management. Lindholm is another story, because he'll be more expensive, and because giving him a fat, long-term contract means that it's more likely that they give Risto a similar contract. Still, I think GMTM would be likely to do so if he gets Lindholm.
If the Sabres don't get one of those 2, then I think they get a stopgap like Soupy for 1-2 years at $4MM - $5MM per year.
I'm sure there are others that I'm not thinking of who could pop loose (I think there may be a couple in Minnesota, for instance), but I don't think any of those will be too expensive.
I don't think GMTM will throw $6MM x 5 years at someone like Yandle or Goligoski.
Lindholm will not be moved. Soupy is going to Chicago for a low end contract. Fowler is the one that Anaheim will move. If we sign Stamkos than we will not be able to resign Kane. On your lines from a previous post, you forgot Delauries on the fourth line. Moulson will be sent to Rochester if he plays like he did last year.

If you can get #4 and Eberle for Bogosian and #8, then you make that move and laugh it off. It frees up space, controls your draft board and you have the chance to make another move to get D in a different avenue. The question is: Dubois, Nylander, Juolevi or my boy Tkachuk.
I hope they cannot, McKenzie is usually right on these things, but I want them stuck in the hole with Datsyuk for this season. :D
If by space you mean salary cap room, Eberle has a higher salary than Bogo.
-
Prediction: Bogo and #8 to Edmonton for #4 and Eberle
I will be very unhappy with this move
-
Here's something to ponder as we get all anxious about the expansion draft: is the Sabres fourth-best defenseman better than the fourth-best on 20-25 other teams? Because Vegas ain't taking 30 blueliners.
If we kept the current defensemen, we would probably leave Bogo unprotected due to his large cap number which might scare away Vegas. I think Vegas would definitely take Pysyck or McCabe
-
I don't think Edmonton would have any interest in McCabe. They are more overloaded on the left side than we are on the right side and they're as desperate for help on the right side as we are on the left side. If we swing a deal with them it should involve a RHD from us for a LHD from them. If we wanted Eberle it's going to cost Bogosian or Psysk plus whatever amount added.
I have no interest in Eberle at all. He is similar to Tyler Ennis. I would be interested in Taylor Hall but the price may be steep. As it is currently we will lose one of our top 4 defensemen in the expansion draft. I don't see anyway to improve our defense with the expansion draft in mind. Edmonton wants to get bigger and more physical. They want Bogo and Foligno. They are trying to trade Eberle and RNH

Damn dude, sorry to hear that.
I've been thinking about heading out of town to a good trail and that looked intriguing. Although, not sure how to complete a large trail with no way to stay the night in between.
I need to clarify. I haven't ridden the entire trail, but I've ridden about 15 miles out and another 15 miles back on the trail. I am by no means a hard core biker.
