Which means we can point the finger right back to Darcy, seeing as he's the one signing average players to ridiculous contracts. Vanek, Connolly, Hecht, Gaustad, Pominville.... Man, it hurts my eyes just to think of how much those guys cost :wallbash:
-
This team should learn to score more than one though, even if Lalime sucks. Not many games are won 1-0 in this league.
-
Fixed it for you
-
His point still stands though - A 5.3 mill. player needs to be able to a do a heckuva lot more than kill penalties. Much like a 3.2 mill. guys needs to be able to a lot more than win faceoffs.... *cough*... Goose... *cough*
-
You called it.
-
I'll join you in Fantasia for a second - Vanek scores a hattrick. And then back to reality - And he'll then dissappear for the next 12 games.
-
No, all I said was that unless one of several things happened, I wouldn't be watching for certain. Scratching Rivet was on that list. Still doesn't mean I have to watch, even though Cpt. Cement Skates was scratched, thank god.
-
Good one. I'm kinda partial to "second game of a back-to-back, some guys out there with no legs".
-
Wouldn't have helped us one last bit, as Regier would be in charge of using those picks :wallbash:
-
Why? Someone told him his salary was based on production or something? If that were the case, I'd be crying too if I were him.
-
Join the club. The stinker on home ice against the Rags this year pushed me over the edge. Once they failed to show up for game 2 of the season, I knew it would be a long year :bag: At this point, I think it would take Darcy getting the boot in order for me to watch another game, I simply cannot bring myself to spend time and money on a franchise where he's in charge.
-
That would be great, if he was being paid half his current salary. Considering his contract, I expect a damn sight more from him. And I don't think he plays "tough", he just plays marignally tougher than the rest of this sackless roster. If anyone wants him at his current contract, I'll freakin' drive him to the airport. Hell, I'll drive him to his new city.

I see a lot of posters saying this team has quit on Ruff, but to me it's come becoming apparent that Ruff's probably quit on Regier as well. Who knows, maybe Regier quit on Quinn years ago, hence the lack of moves to improve the team, and moronic contracts to average players? At any rate, I think the identity that this team is so desperately searching for is already firmly in place - Quitters. Top to bottom.
-
Stop putting money in his pockets, and he'll know. Believe me, he'll know.

14 games. That's the longest losing streak I can remember the team going through, with absolutely no changes made. We're nowhwere close to that yet, and I imagine I would take at least 20-25 losses straight for Darcy to bring back Bob Corkum.
-
But the people we have aren't bad people. Right?
-
The really scary part is, I get the feeling they could be 0-6-5 and it wouldn't change a darn thing. Remember that 14-game losing streak in 2007-2008? Nothing. It's bad alright. But mostly because Regier thinks it isn't. Oh well. At least it's not like these are bad people :wallbash:
-
Well, at least techincally I should be able to watch a game again. Not that I feel a specific urge to.
-
Just another prime example of how ridiculous the NHL has become. I mean, how the ###### is that NOT goaltender interference?
-
The way I remember it McKee had some pretty mediocre years after Warrener was dealt, and came back with one really strong season in 2005-2006 before going off to the Blues to become an oft-injured fringe player. Not saying I didn't like him, but it's not like he was anything special when you look at the big picture. Even so, just for the sake of argument - two guys worth a mention over a 13 year span? Not a very good track record in my book.
-
He wasn't. The defense was too inexperienced and soft, and Darcy acted out of desperation because it completely slipped his mind to try and keep the defense even remotely physical after McKee left. He just needed two full seasons realise it. You know, much like the desperation that resulted in Vanek's, Gaustad's, Pominville and Hecht's contracts. I won't add Connolly's contract to the mix. That one was just a regular jackass move, nothing to do with desperation.
-
Didn't watch the game, but can't say I'm the least bit surprised. Oh well, if it takes another 50 home losses for things to change, so be it.
-
I think this team owes the fans a complete whoopin' of the Sens on home ice, but I'll settle for 2 points regardless how they come.
-
Why I oughta...... :D
-
And I get the feeling you know what I meant, but just for you we'll replace the word "team" with "skaters"
