  1. Yeah not real thrilled with how they finished that period but ... the other guys are on scholarship too, as they say.
  2. Miller deserved that one ... kept giving them rebounds ...
  3. Max makes it 3-2 ... here they come folks ... Not for nothin, but I'll tell you what, Erik Cole is a great player .... Stall is their most talented guy, but Cole is a better player right now. I know we hate them but this is still a good team.
  4. The hockey Gods just told the ref what they thought of the diving call ... shortie by Kalinin ... But I will say this ... at least they only called one penalty ... it's either a trip or a dive ... if he was tripped, he didn't dive, and vice-versa.
  5. Really dumb penalty by teppo and it cost them ... just stupid, and now they are still shorthanded.
  6. Not a horrible period, not a great one ... they seemed to wake up once Pominville scored. I had a bad feeling about tonight, but I like the way they responded to the Carolina goal.
  7. I think his point is, it used to be ... "Last minute of play ... in this period."
  8. 7-3, HT for Drury ... Did I say I meant 8 or 9 before the end of the second?!?!
  9. OK, generally I am no fan of Peters, but ... is it just me or does he look like a BETTER fighter since he got off the roids and decided to try to be an actual hockey player?!? Kalinin just got caught up ice for no reason and hung Teppo out to dry ... of course it ended up in the net. Now Max takes another penalty ... c'mon, let's not let them back in it boys. Wow is Drury off to a great start ... 6-3 and going back on the PP ...
  10. They are playing like they are ticked off right now ... the Rangers can't match the intensity ... Novotny got robbed or it would be 5-2, they may score 8 or 9 at this rate.
  11. Honestly, I didn't think tonight was as bad as last night ... I'm not saying they were playing great, but really they just paid for the penalties. Last night they were horrible. Great first shift to start the second, but now another penalty ...
  12. I love when Jagr starts to lose it ... he was in the box when Crosby scored the winner for Pgh the other night, then he gets frustrated and is in the box for the tying goal in this one, and then is caught out there when the Sabres score again to take the lead ...
  13. Ummmmm not that I am not excited about the goal but .... who was the hottie sitting with Tom G.?!? Holy Shnikies ... 2-2 ... imagine if they ever play from the opening draw ...
  14. Both teams have won 60 of their last 93 games ... how anyone can discern much of an edge for either side at this point is beyond me.
  15. So you think Laviolette is coaching for his job? I think he's pretty secure that he will have a job somewhere ... if he's worrying about that I don't think they come back from down 2-0 to Montreal.
  16. I don't know ... I can't see anyone who has busted his ass all season and playoffs to this point all of a sudden deciding he's NOT going to get in the shooting lane or finish his check because his coach MIGHT leave the team after the season ... Lindy has done a great job and the Sabres have bought in, of course, but at the end of the day the passion has to come from within and I doubt the Canes are thinking about Laviolette's contract status while they are out there.
  17. Yeah I definitely think the Sabres have a slight edge in depth of scoring while the Canes have a little more top-end offensive explosiveness with Staal and, if he is healthy, Stillman. I really think it's going to come down to which rookie goalie plays better, because the nature of the way these two teams play means both will certainly be tested.
  18. Ha I just tried to go there and it took me 3 tries, gave me an error page for a while ... They may as well just re-direct everyone to EdmontonOliers.com, that's what TSN will become now ... they are closing up shop and crying in they bags of spilled milk I guess!
  19. Really? The greatest era? Huh ... maybe. From the mid 70s through the end of Bert's career, the Sabres never had to worry about making the playoffs. In fact, many of those years we all had legit Cup hopes ... while the endings were always disappointing, it was still a better era than the Hasek-Satan years to me. The hasek Satan years I always felt like we were fighting for every point and over-achieving occasionallly ... One division title, one trip to the Finals and one other trip to the conference finals ... I guess the earlier teams didn't accomplish much more, and it could be argued it is better to over-achieve than under-achieve, but ... it sure felt better.
  20. Perreault is obviously my all-time favorite Sabre, but they tell me when I was really young I loved Rene Robert ... as I got older I also always appreciated guys like Gare and Foligno who had a mean streak but could also score. I know he turned out to be a jerk but I loved Barrasso when he first came up ... i still wonder how many others would turn into jerks if they were put in his position at 18 years old.
  21. good God ... anyone else? If one of the nuns comes out of the woodwork and starts posting, I am outta here ...
  22. Blessed Sacrament? In Kenmore? I went there too ... class of 1984 ... and now we are both transplanted in Tennessee? That is borderline creepy ... ;)
  23. Yeah I can't remember where I parked my car when I leave work but I can tell you about Bob Froese ...
