1-0 after one ... 30 secs left on PP ... somehow sabres out-shot them 19-9 ... PPs helped ... not a great period but they seem to have found their legs ... Hasek looks pretty good

McKee just butterflied and saved Miller's bacon, he got caught behind the net ... SPezza and Heatly together are scary ...

pretty sloppy both ways so far ... Hasek is roaming all over the place, catching the puck, skating out and passing it off, all that jazz ... similar start to the Boston game last nigt, hopefully the pace will pick up like that one did

Well here we go ... 3rd game in 4 nights against a rested Ottawa team ... a few years ago I think I'd be happy if the Sabres could grind out a point, but I think the days of 1-1 games in this series are over ... it's going to be wide-open, and if the Sabres legs are tired it could be a long night ... but let's see what happens ...

I hardly noticed any of the defensemen tonight ... gave up a lot of shots but no glaring mistakes ... if they stay solid like that and don't give them any gifts, looks like Miller can handle the rest. He may not win games by himself but for the first time in a long time, the Sabres might not need their goalie to do that. It is definitely a Golden Seal in my avatar ... no idea who, I found that pic on SI.com a couple years ago ...

very nice startto the season ... I am impressed with this team so far .. granted this one was closer than the score, but the weathered the storm in the 3rd and then put it away ... the new rules have created a TON of space so far and they are taking advantage ...

Huge goal ... great shot ... they were starting to sit on the lead and get dominated ...

Grier did a nice job on the PK ... they peppered Miller but he's holding up well ... They defnitely got life from the power play ... Thornton-Murray line much better with Samsanov on it now...

Love the way Sabres responded to the goal ... didn't get one yet but attacked right away ... Big scrum behind the Boston net .. .NESN mikes caught a few F-bombs ... Which reminds me, I love the fact we play these guys (and the rest of the divisiion) 8 times like the old days ...

OK the NESN guys going overboard prasing the Sabres ... Edwards just said "Pyat came over with Connolly in the Mike Peca trade ... the Sabres are pretty happy with that." Ummm, Jack ... As if on cue, Connolly misses everything from the high slot ...

wow anothr penalty on Boston ... never would have been called before ...if they call it like this all year the game might really change PP is still horrible tonigt, or their PK is great ...

well after 1 no score ... flow was not as good as the opener but getting better ... Sabres ot dominated about the first 12-15 minutes but came on, starting to find their legs...3rd power play of period will carry over ... would be nice to get a goal because we have not take a penalty yet, gotta even out eventually ... Miller stopped a breakaway, gave the guy nothing ... both goalies look very good ... LOVING the NESN guys ... old ESPN guy Jack Edwards is the play by play ... not RJ and Loretz, obviously, but better than most, not homers ...
