  1. The cnnse article is pure garbage - just speculating on what's been speculated before. No way in the world he goes to the rangers or devils
  2. Yeah, PIT makes sense to me. It comes down to the fact he's a stated homebody (Boston) vs. comfort level (playing with Eichel) to wanting to play with a Stanley Cup contender right away (PIT/CHI)
  3. He will be signing with Buffalo on 8/18 or 8/19: Nothing earth shattering here, but, as you all probably know, Jack has kind of left Vesey alone in this decision throughout the summer. Jack isn't the type of guy to push an agenda. He's answered a few questions about Buffalo for Jimmy, but that's about it. Jimmy hasn't visited Buffalo with him BUT Jack and Samson "do have room in their condo for one more player." Jack might have a commitment today and not be able to make the beer league game, but, if he does play, he's going to basically wish him luck for next Monday and say "he would love for him to join the Sabres." If he can't make the game, he's texteing him something similar. Looking at the contenders: BUF - seems like a perfect fit, and we have the advantage of (a) meeting him early and (b). If you didn't see the video of Jimmy being the first person to confront the player who kneed Jack, you should watch it. I personally think he's coming to Buffalo and haven't heard anything saying otherwise BOS - hometown yes but hometown pressure too. His Father and Jimmy Hayes have told him to avoid Boston. The team isn't on an upswing either. Still, it is his home team and there seems to be room for a 2nd line LW (Marchant being 1st line) to play with Krejci. Krejci had 63 points last year but is 30, whereas Jack isn't even 20 TOR - Dad works there and brother drafted there. In saying that, he's not going there - high tax rates and TOR has Van Riemsdyk and Lupul at LW and a lot of LW prospects. Also, TOR isn't in a win now mode. His brother isn't as good as Jimmy, prob plays all 4 years in college and becomes an UFA. CHI - Would only have to beat out Fleishmann (UFA right now) for 2nd line minutes. BUT, Chi isn't on the East coast and doesn't have a sterling record on keeping players in their 2nd contract. Vesey would have to be concerned with being shipped out to EDM, CLB or some other not so great city after his 2nd year when he's still a RFA. PIT - Seems to be room for a second line winger here behind Kunitz. Hasn't been much talk of Vesey to PIT, but, the would be on my short list if I was him. NYR - Chatter about him possibly here due to connections with Drury and their ass't GM. Team on downswing and Vesey doesn't seem like a NYC type of guy
  4. Has nothing to do with Vesey - his salary would be $925k. Now Girgs holdup may be Vesey related
  5. It means paralysis by over analysis. It's why people loved Pysyk because of his nice corsi stats. The eyeball check in which Pysyk played against other teams 3rd and 4th one only, never got any points and hit no one was generally ignored
  6. I know his father is there but toronto, otherwise, makes no sense. Higher taxes, more than a couple of years away from competing, lousy media, they already have a quality pipeline of wingers...
  7. That's cool as the commentator is from Boston and prob knows vesey as good as anyone
  8. Now they can trade Moulsen as jack doesn't live with him longer. Granted, Moulsen helped get Okposo.........
  9. Yep, it's Cal, hidden, except for the #19 on the helmet
  10. Can't do it - its on bleacher report Instagram and has no link. Picture is from the Buffalosabres and says,"them Boys up to something" and has a conversation going back and forth between jack, Sam and some others. Quite the tease, especially with the #19 in the pic
  11. Twitter posted of eichel and Samson playfully arguing who's getting the master br of their 3br condo? Picture has eichel, Samson and a blocked out Sabre wearing #19 in it. Someone's trying to play games with out head??
  12. Is he a potential 30 goal score or is he not special, 'cuz you can't be both in the current state of the game
  13. I've watched a ton of film on him and he's very good - drew Stafford is a good comparison but he has more of an edge to his game. More of a power forward. He should not have won the hobey Baker last year though. They gave it to him because jack beat him out the year before, a year he was great in, better than his senior year
  14. Borderline tampering w/o quite crossing that line
  15. Quenville watched vesey in MA tonight. If Vesey wants to play with them for 2 years then get traded to Columbus cuz Chi can't afford him, then go ahead and sign with them. I would think he'd stay clear of them
  16. I'm sure he'd get booed. In saying that that I'm not convinced he doesn't sign with buffalo (because of eichel) and he has done nothing wrong and said nothing wrong
  17. Chicago isn't on the East Coast and has significantly more travel than a East Coats team though. And, Vesey said he wanted to stay on the East Coast
  18. Wondering if CHI might not offer the same bonus package as Buffalo. $925k cap hit can easily turn into around $3.5m (as it did with Panarin) and $3.5m is nothing for Buffalo but significant to CHI. I'd also think that PIT might be on the list, maybe NJ, maybe PHI??
  19. His brother hasn't plYed full time for toronto yet - would be surprised if he played more than 9 games as an 18 yr old
  20. For those critical of GMTM I present you the opportunity to look back at Darcy Regier. Any other q's? In 2 years GMTM: Traded away Miller for value and destroyed stl in the process Tanked to get captain Jack Trade bit pieces for O'Reilly Signed the UFA's top 2016 target Astutely added a veteran presence (gionta, gorges, legwand and even Moulsen) to avoid the EDM model Turned a 52 point team into a potential playoff team in 2 years Vesey, Kane, Bogo and Lehner tbd but I rather have a bold GM than a passive one.
  21. 8% chance that a 3rd rounder turns into a good NHL player. If giving up the 3rd increased our odds at vesey by more than 8% = good trade. Pretty sure it did.
  22. True - but that Harvard BS degree is worth more than $2m - ha
  23. tough to say what he gave up $ wise, but definitely not $2m. He definitely gave up prorated share of $925k - probably around $150k + any playoff money he would have shared in. He wouldn't have been able to make any bonus money on a partial year and his ELC will end at the same time whether he signed March 1 with Nashville or August 17th with anybody (2 years) He's signing with an East coast team, so CHI won't be it. I'd say it's 50% Boston, 33% Buffalo and 17% to the field (TOR,PHI,NJ,NYR.NYI)
  24. I see that PI is the asst GM in Nashville these days? Must be with all the iinside info he's sharing with us.
  25. Not being willing to sit down with Nashville and telling them he'd sign with them don't mesh. Correct?
