  1. I think GMTM will be very active in "hockey" trades. He said so much around the trade deadline. He may have something in place already for all we know. I think tkackuk may be NHL ready too plus I think the Russian dman is more NHL ready and will be better than chychrun. Whatever the cap ends up being will be a big factor
  2. Toronto is desperately looking looking for a #1 center. IF they new they were getting Stamkos, it would be a trade they could consider. ARI is pretty desperate, I imagine they could get more from them. Replace DOMI with OEL?
  3. I agree thorny but we need a really good offseason to make the jump next year to be a playoff contender. The draft won't provide anything for the upcoming season unless we trade up to #4 or higher. We need to get at least one, hopefully 2 top 6 forwards (Stamkos, Vesey, okposo, Nash, Mcginn) and at least one, hopefully 2 top forward dmen (take your pick).
  4. If you guys like Nylander than you should love Keller. Both are small and dynamic, granted Keller is smaller, but Keller is more dynamic and doesn't play small. Nylander is more of a perimeter player. I would be happy with either on Jack's wing eventually, but happier with Keller. Neither are long and play, both have to get significantly stronger. The only player who might be plug and play at #8 is the Russian dman.
  5. Of course we do girgs + 38 + 8 for 3. Not a bad offer but would think CLB would get better. Girgs is replaced nicely by Larsson and has proven to be a mediocre - decent pro. Not sure how his RFA status affects his trade value. I'd much rather have #3 than #4 - tkachuk's lack of foot speed worries me a bit
  6. Well it's good Keller got an inch taller, not great that he went on a diet apparently. No need to trade up and get Nylander when you can stay put, or trade down slightly and grab Keller.
  7. I would trade Bogo and #38 all day for #4. Unfortunately edm won't
  8. We don't need another RHD unless the plan is to trade Bogo and #8 to Edm for #4
  9. Chychrun has the most upside of the 3 dmen and the fact he was ranked #2 going into the season indicates that probably. I like mostly everything about the FIN, and he had the best year of the 3 BUT he has very limited physicality to his game. Maybe is doesn't matter but it's a red flag to me. As for Guhle, he's barely 19 so it's ridiculous for any of us to declare him a top pair dman or, for that matter, say he doesn't have the potential for that. He was the 2nd best athlete at the combine last year (Jack was #1) and progressed nicely in juniors this year.
  10. I take Clayton over any of those 4 and that's just not me be crazy. At least I hope it isn't.
  11. Pysyk 8th and a prospect for the 4th? The prospect just be a top one. And to think Guhle is a future top 2dman is jumping the gun by a lot
  12. Yep, I think it's got to be Keller as gmtm won't take a Russian (I don't think) and the Fin will be gone before #8 and has no physical presence.
  13. And Stamkos is very good for 5 years, and we win, say 2 cups, I would be okay if he wasn't so good in year 6 and 7. Just give me a cup before I friggin die!!
  14. If Matthews was 2 days older he would have been in last year's draft and would have went third. Eichel proved himself NHL star worthy last year, matthews has to do that this year. Matthews is excellent but I take Eichel over him everyday and twice on Sundays.
  15. Eichel has no worries - he's hanging out with Gronk and Johnny hockey in Nantucket. Ironically, I was too but had no clue they were there. In all seriousness, a guy like Stamkos hits FA about once a decade so you have to explore. A lot of his stats decline is because Cooper is using him less than he was being used in 2012-2013, hence one of his issues with TB. Sign him, sign Vesey, trade #8 + girgs + Pysyk for #10 and Barrie, trade Bogo for Eberle, sign a UFA LHD, draft Keller at #10, re-sign Johnson. This may not be a cup contending team in 2016/2017 but it's close.
  16. I know it would be called a reach, but, after looking at a lot of video, Keller is my pick. He just has the it factor and looked as good or better than anyone not name Matthews or Laine. I know he's small but seems to avoid getting hit. Maybe trade #8 +++ for Barrie and #10?
  17. I think this is a reasonable assumption. Good thing is if both dmen are gone by #8, a top forward would have slipped to #8. Win/win situation
  18. I offer tb a 3rd rounder for Stamkos rights and Nashville the same for vesey's rights. If would be nice to try and lock one of those guys up.before the draft. If you know you are getting one, or good-looking both, you can grab one or the big 3 dmen at #8, two of which I think will be available
  19. Doubt it - Nylander is considered soft, Keller I think will be the better pro. I am often wrong.
  20. NHL drafts in BUF don't happen all that often
  21. Too bad - I would have paid $500 for them (seriously). Coming in from CT with my son's and hoping to get tickets. Guess I'll try my luck 6/1 or on stub hub
  22. Can't argue with that - except he was trying to trade those lower picks to get a higher pick. Trading those picks for established players is the route he may take a la NYI when they traded 2nds for dmen
  23. Tim Horton (though not when he played in BUF) and housing - both HOFers. Mike Ramsey closely afterwards, followed by shoney.
  24. You only have 50 contracts to spread around, so you can't be drafting that many players. Last year, at one point, we had 3 first and two seconds. We ended up only drafting 2 players with that. With 6 picks in the first three rounds, I bet we trade 3 of them
