  1. I think it's unrealistic to expect the Sabres to win 9 out of 10 games. As teams start to figure out how to stop the Sabres, the coaching staff has to adjust. I would rather see them slump now and get the fire back in time for the playoffs, than see them blow their wad in the regular season.

  2. I hate to say it but the Sabres are running on fumes. They look exhausted! You can tell by their feeble shots. All they can do is flip the puck at Ward.

The Philly series they pretty much dominated. The Sens series they lost some scoring punch but outhustled Ottawa. In this series, Carolina is taking everything away from them.

Look at the difference when the puck is in the offensive zone. Carolina collapses on the Sabres point men, eventually choking them off the puck. But in the Sabres zone, Buffalo hangs back, letting the 'Canes skate freely as if they were on a power play.

We might win this one, but I am not optimistic about the series.

  3. They started to play not to lose in the third...and it cost them. Why did Miller go down so soon on that shot. If he stood upright it was an easy save.

Because it was a low shot before it deflected up off a Sabres stick. TRhe game would be over if it weren't for Miller.

  4. Wow...it's like somebody replaced our Sabres with a bunch of beer league players! How can an NHL team forget how to play hockey overnight? Biron let in two dreadful goals. Okay, they are 1-7 in their last 8. When do they finally shake themselves out of this stupor?

By the way, all they had to do is get a point and they would have clinched the playoffs tonight. With Atlanta losing, the Sabres have clinched a tie.

  5. After the way Miller played in the second period as the Sabres scored three unanswered goals, to lay an egg in the third and overtime just drives me batty. Lots to worry about, but for me again the big concern is Miller. I just don't think he's going to be able to hold this defensive train wreck together. We can't clear the zone. These putzes are making me thirsty.

Why do you always blame the goalie, and never blame the D? How was it Jagr was so wide open that he could waltz in front of Miller to tie the game? There wasn't Sabres defenseman within 10ft of Jagr! The Sabres defense has been putrid during this losing streak.

  6. I just got back from seeing the game live. Sitting in the endzone behind Miller for two periods, there is no freakin' way you can pin any goals on him! Each Boston goal was scored directly off a Sabre turnover in our own end or in the neutral zone. Each goal was scored by the odd man across the crease.

I know many of you look at the goal and blame the goalie, without considering the breakdown by his teamates in front of him. The two guys who deserve to get reamed by Lindy are Vanek and Afinegenov. Lazy sloppy play by Vanek in the neutral zone cost us a goal. Maxim makes one good play then 2 or 3 horrible ones.

This team is in big trouble right now. Lindy has got to find a way to reach them before we fall right out of the playoffs. We haven't clinched anything yet.

  7. Gratton should change his name to something more European because that's his game. Drove me nuts when he was in Buffalo because he played about a foot shorter and 75 pounds lighter than he is. I was dancing a jig when we got Briere because he was (IS) ridiculously talented and (unlike Grattonovovich) plays like his hair is on fire EVERY SHIFT. Phoenix has a couple guys like that but they're hamstrung because the rest of the roster is so below par.

How about Chris Au Grautin? Like the potatos? :P

  8. I;m watching Center Ice. Either the guy at the controls fell asleep, or they are showing the post-game Shootout show now! I hope this is new.

The best thing about slapping the Leafs is knowling all those arrogant Leafs fans are p.o'd that their high-priced over-hyped squad is getting schooled by a bunch of no-names that everyone picked to finish dead last in the NHL.
