  1. Fans: DO SOMETHING!! Adams: We got Malcolm Subban. Fans: NOT THAT!!!
  2. Actually went looking for my post about the new NLL TV deal with ESPN, which vanished mysteriously. You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?
  3. Not being directly responsible for giving the other team 2-3 points per game?
  4. Will you serve La Chouffe Blonde?
  5. Yeah, sorry. I came across his post today. Maybe he can go next time. The Harp is strictly a Bills bar, though they have hosted Sabres viewing parties during the playoffs. Keep in mind they are next to the TD Garden and can't afford to piss off Bruins fans. I was just at the Bleacher Bar a few weeks ago and they had a sign up promoting Sabres games.
  6. I tried to find my earlier post on the NLL ESPN deal but couldn't find it. All NLL games will be on ESPN+.
  7. I think The Bleacher Bar on Lansdowne St. under Fenway Park shows Sabres games.
  8. His long nightmare is over
  9. It's ironic how we spread the blame for Dahlin but shift all the blame on goalies. You'd have more of a point if Dahlin's gaffes weren't so singular. It's true that hockey is a team game, but at any given moment responsibility shifts from one skater to another. Once the puck hits Dahlin's stick, he's on the hook. I also wouldn't get too dazzled by Dahlin's assist stats. 5 of his 11 assists come on the power play where he quarterbacks play. So assists tend to come with the job. Right now Dahlin is -4 this season (and -60 for his career.)
  10. Hasek Goathead.
  11. Actually I do. First, his gaffes are spectacular. Second, he has many mini-gaffes that don't result in bad goals but might end a Sabres offensive rush or stall a break out. The kind of things people might gloss over. He allows himself to get cornered with the puck. And he's not strong enough to win battles in the corners. So yeah, in my view he's a larger net negative than other Sabres defensemen.
  12. So when does Granato say enough mistakes? Is it fair to other Sabres like Butcher and R2 who get sat sent down for poor play while the golden child gets a free pass? When does Dahlin endure even one consequence for his play?
  13. Uhhh, they do. Many times. But we only notice when they don't. If you actually took a count, there are way more defensive blunders than bad goals. But when a goalie bails your defense out we immediately forget about it because a goal wasn't scored.
  14. Seriously? Look harder at the two shorties.
  15. What he needs is time in Rochester. Same reason we are keeping Peterka and Quinn down on the farm. But with his contract is that even a possibility? Granato should at least sit him down a game or two.
  16. I think Dahlin "takes his eyes off the ball" so to speak. He's like the WR who starts thinking about what cut he's going to make before securing the ball. So many errors involve the puck rolling off his blade. Of course we can point at the horrendous gaffes that lead to goals, but Dahlin is also guilty of misplaying the puck and ending an attack in the offensive zone, or derailing a rush forcing the Sabres to come back and reset. A bad pass, the puck rolling off his stick and going outside the blue line. Those might not end up in breakaways going the other way but they do blow up a Sabres offensive possession. I don't understand why he hasn't been sat down. If it were any other player they'd be in Rochester by now.
  17. It was still the largest-looking crowd of the season.
  18. Actually there were over 10K (tickets distributed.)
  19. Not like Dahlin had anything to do with the result.
  20. Kraken are getting tired. They are in prevent mode. Here's our opening.
