  1. Are the Sabres dominating as much as it sounds?
  2. These games are the worst for me. I get every Sabres game on center ice (that's televised) but Directv doesnt get Philly CSN and I live too close to the sewer city so it's blacked out for me(om CI). I work midnights and can't easily watch from a neighborhood bar and then go to work (or actually just watch from a friends house - that just seems rude) so... I'll be listening at the computer with my wife and kids thinking I'm nuts. If they win - My job flies by, if they lose, my hand will hurt from writing traffic citations. (gotta take out the pain on someone :) )
  3. At least these announcers are much better than Mon. nite (except, of course their insistance that anyone with a number ending in one is Max). It's in between periods, its in slow motion it clearly is a "5" but they can't see it....... Max gets enough deserved critisism without being tied to the stake for others laziness.....
  4. The unfortunate part is, I don't think I want anyone from the Oilers in the Sabres locker room now. If Marty does end up there, I hope it is a 3 team trade. I'm probably still blinded by their whining and crying, but I wouldn't want to see that here. Hey, did anyone else think Max had a great night all over? In his own zone I thought he did well (Lorentz mentioned a couple games ago that he thought Max was Buffalos best "defensive" forward in a game and I think he has kept it up pretty well. He was also the 3rd Sabre into the scrum after McKee and Kalin in the first period. (He almost over skated it - but it is Max that was pulling the Oiler off of Kalinin)
  5. two things that really spoke of what this team has right now. Hecht was not going for the hat trick at first and only scored after trying to pass across the crease (highly unslefish) and Novotny fit in so well by giving it to Paille on the 2 - 1 ! Max finding Pominville was a great pass as well.
  6. I know he had his problem legally this past year, but Tallinder is clearly much better than Fitzpatrick. Should we be fortunate enought to get a top 4 D, I could see Tallinder and Campbell fighting for a spot.
  7. the only thing I'd add is that on 12/31/48 Rene Robert was born! great idea.
  8. PTS - Hope the Divorski you really hate is the ref - the linesman followed us from Toronto and is doing the game again tonight!
  9. Now this is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Briere is out w/ a hip problem - Roy may be back in. Is anyone else watching this on Center Ice and getting the FSN-P feed? These guys are horrible! In the last minute they saw a phantom puck (it clearly was at the top of the crease and put in after the whistle) and struggled to count to 5 when figuring if it was a power play or 4 on 4. And.... If Crosby beat Biron like a rented mule, What do you relate Max's goal to? And speaking of MAx - I think he has 3 points already tonight.
  11. Tallinder (with one bad give away) also played well I thought. He and Lydman were playing against some very talented forwards and more than held their own.
  12. Fitzpatrick took Birons stick with him on the firsat goal as he tried to get back to his check. Roy told Rick that it is pronounced Roo Wah last week when Tallinder and Lydman also had their pronunciations corrected. (I can't remember the exact way it as worded but Derek said something about being originally from French background or his family is or something. Also, Pittsburgh has a "Roy" French Canadien and the announcer is probably just used to it. And yes, they suck.
  13. Usually you can get the game notes from the home page, but there is no link yet today. It mentions Pominville being recalled. Leighton being sent back and Pyatt placed on IR. I guess Dumont and Briere are maybe and Noronen is ok to back up.
  14. You're not opening up that whole discussion again, are you? Some of us would more than welcome Gare's knowledge behind the bench.
  15. I thought the Sabres made sure to let Patrick know he was welcome to give it a shot in training camp but that they thought he was too old and should become a coach - it gave them room for the toddlers like Numminen to fill in.
  16. If Biron starts tonight, and plays decent, but not spectacular, who thinks Noronen should start Sat.? What would it take to have Noronen start? And if he did start, what would he need to do to play the bulk until Miller returns? Just throwing it out there to get opinions....
  17. If Miller is out a full 6 weeks he will need Noronen. Problem that I see is has he screwed him up to the point of no return? Since we carried all 3 would it have been so har to at least rotate mika and Marty as the back ups instead of completely astrosizing Mika?
  18. a bag of pucks would look good right now. might have to add a draft pick
  19. Remember, it wasn't Broduer in net V. the Devils and they struggled. And the Devils are not anywhere near as good as the Senators. That said, if the Sabres work hard and play smart, they can be in any game. And with their speed they can pressure teams into making mistakes. It is just that their margin of error is smaller than most teams. If they miss empty nets or fail to finnish when they have good scoring chances they lose. If they are able to capitalize on their chances, and with their speed and IF THEY WORK HARD they get plenty of them, they should do well
