  1. You have to be kidding me - they get a PP out of that?
  2. Cozens has a mean streak.
  3. Thankfully it's only during the PP.
  4. Shots so far 15 - 1 Sabres.
  5. Would liked to have seen this version of the Sabres last Saturday.
  6. Yay, team! Ugh, it's either the trailing puck effect or Dunleavy's ridiculously poor PBP.
  7. OMG, the Ducks' feed has the trailing puck effect going on. Very annoying.
  8. Especially when their problem won't be fixed by simply getting a defenseman or another goal scorer. I had a working theory that the problem wasn't a need to deliver more hits or that they get hit too much. Watching them play live verified this for me - it seemed to me hits, for or against, didn't matter, especially on D. Dahlin, Krebs, Power, and Girgensons hit people. So, a-guy-who-hits is not a solution, either. If they were trading for anything it should be to trade for an assistant coach who specializes in defense.
  9. Of course it does. On the road it's all business: nothing to think about but hockey. At home they're...at home...with all of the trappings at home. Being a young team means they haven't yet learned how to manage their focus which is something that only experience teaches. This would be true of any group of young people, not just hockey players.
  10. The timeout narrative is meaningless. They were simply mentally unprepared. Calgary only dominated on the scoreboard; at any moment the Sabres could have snapped out of their daze and taken control but they didn't. It didn't help that they got two easy goals in the first which I think sealed their fate in the end.
  11. They were booed at the end of the second.
  12. The first period goals from the Sabres also gave them false confidence. They played the second with their minds still half on the beach. This is a winnable game, still. Let's see what happens.
  13. Lazy defensive play. Like they forgot how intense the game is played while on their break. All mental mistakes.
  14. The sound system here is the pits. Having a band at intermission just accentuates how bad it is. I have to admit that I do like the live band.
  15. At the game and the crowd is into it. Seeing this roster play live is a treat. People adamant about needing a heavy hitting D man are wrong. That kind of player would slow down their game.
  16. Totally his YouTube account. Look at this video of dangling - is all of that not in his repertoire? It's almost like a young musician studying his favorite artists and integrating certain elements of their styles into his own. I can totally see a 14 or 15 y/o kid daydreaming about doing this stuff and then going out and practicing it all of the time.
  17. I have a #19 Connolly jersey I may wear Saturday - loud and proud!
  18. Dahlin has made a lot of money off the Sabres already. The guy has bought into the culture, his teammates and - I'm guessing here, but - bringing the Cup to Buffalo. I could see him giving a discount, but also aspiring to be a "100 millionaire", so if I were forced to guess contract terms it would be $10.1 mil x 7 years with a full no-trade clause.
  19. Dahlin is smart and his English is very good for a second language. He either wrote a draft and a copy writer edited it, he was handed a draft and asked to edit it himself (and then his edits were edited), or a content person interviewed him and the result was given to a copy writer. However it was generated he signed off on it. Remember that the theme for Wednesday's game is "choose love". This is clearly a part of that campaign.
  20. Of course they did, but that doesn't mean Dahlin doesn't believe the words credited to him. If you've watched any of his interviews this past season, he's said all of those things many times.
  21. Not with UPL in net. Quinn for the second shooter was a curious choice but I don't blame DG for making it.
