Peters - "Leino can be elite..."

Back in the early to mid '90s in Austin, Shiner Bock and Rolling Rock were the hipsters favs. Every time I drank that sh*t, my head would pound for days.

The High Tech style of interior design is old and boring. Looks like some Post Modern elements, but not as much as the F'N Centre is - which isn't a lot to begin with. It is, however, an incredibly optimistic design: clearly, one idea is to provide a place where the (more well-to-do) fans who hang out outside the F'N Centre during playoff games can go and watch the game and spend their money. I guess for that, I welcome it.

Aristotle - "Look, Democritus, I tell you the world is spherical..." Democritus - "You drunk fool, everyone knows the world is flat! Can't you see yonder hills gently laying upright upon the horizon?" Aristotle - "That is but an illusion, something you can not see unless your perspective has changed..." Democritus - "And how, Aristotle? Travel into space? Surely the gods would swat us down, or demons would feast on our flesh, long before we were to fly into space, as if we could fly. Your nonsense is overwhelming, Aristotle, perhaps Alexander should discuss these traitorous musings with you before you frighten the people." Aristotle - "You would not!" Democritus - "Remember your grand-nephew?"

Would that be just college free agent class? 10th best D man? How large is that particular class on average year to year (D or all)? Just curious; I have been meaning to figure out some sort of rank for Ruhwedel for my own edification.

My thoughts exactly.

Did I miss the Flynn thread? Should that announcement go here since no one likes him? I would like to know what kind of contract he got.

The folks at Great Skate told me and my one kid stories about players not wearing socks while he was being fitted. They made it sound as common as shin pads.

Whoops! Detroit files largest municipal bankruptcy in US history

Can you provide more detail? I always thought that, at worst, they can turn it into residencies.

So, I was looking for more renderings, trying to see the solution for attaching the Harbour Centre to the FN Center, when I found this interesting thread: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1561764 If you're interested on all of the major projects locally, they're pretty much in there, although perhaps a month or two out-dated.
-
Wait a minute, are you saying people are taking this thread and that banter seriously? No way.

You should bring in some donuts as a prize.

I know it's hard not to when you're swinging those big bats.

I'd say we're this close: --> <--- That's pretty good! Hail progress! I must have missed the "Tuesday is Straw Man Day" memo. Would you care to email it to me for my records? Thanks!

No, I definitely do not see our local affiliates as conservative. It really has nothing to do with being critical, so much as it has to do with what they do, and do not, present as news, and which information they choose to include in a story. I don't disagree that a regular newscast doesn't give them time to really lay on the mud, but they can still do it with the time they have each day in total. I worked local news, I do have an idea of how it all works.
-
Hmmm...I think none of these factors are mutually exclusive. Next question.
-
Okay. Believe what you will.

What's percentage of ~300 million is ~10 million? Of course, and they help their cause by doing more than just dabbling in politics...they're elbow deep. How do you suppose a news network can "help" a statist administration like the Obama administration? They spread the propaganda. Obama doesn't need a network's money, Obama needs the networks' power. I can pretty much guarantee you that the network sets the news direction tone for local affiliates. If the network mothership were more about left- or right- leaning biases, then the affiliates generally march in lock step.

Depends on how good-looking she is...

WOAH! Capitalism? No, way. Which news network is the most profitable? Fox. NBC was acting to help move along a narrative, to match an ideological agenda. At best, they were acting to maintain access, which only serves to keep them financially afloat, and definitely does not help their bottom line.

You got the wrong cat, sister. I'd love to watch post-game interviews with chicks on the team.

I didn't challenge anyone; I made an observation. Stick in the mud.

The evidence and facts SUPPORTED the claim of the defendant to the extant that there was reasonable doubt the prosecution was full of sh*t. That this was essentially an unconstitutional attempt to frame a person for the sake of politics. Feed them red meat. Let's not forget, a lot of political machinations were involved just to get Zimmerman brought up on charges. The facts and supporting evidence were overwhelming from the get-go.
